What Is Networking Topology?

What Are The Different Topologies?

Bus Topology One cable, called the backbone, connects all the computers

Message is sent from one computer to another through the backbone

Ring Topology Ring type connection where the backbone cable connects all computers

A complete is formed by connecting the computers in this way

Star Topology Each and every computer is connected to a central hub

The hub gets the message and sends it to the destination computer

Tree Topology There are more than one hubs connected and each hub has devices in a bus system

This is very advanced and is designed with the future in mind

Mesh Topology (WS-X6582-2PA) Each and every computer is connected to one another

Very expensive, creates redundant connections and is used in WAN connections
