An important aspect of the spiritual functionality of tantric paintings is their lack of attribution. As the great passeur of tantric paintings, Frank André Jamme, has noted: “Their creators have always been anonymous, in that these designs are not really pure creations, but rather passed on from generation to generation, a series of revisitations of old schemas.”30
