These disciplines help explain how our society works and provide crucial data and information to assist policymakers, governments, and private and nonprofit organizations. I’ve even become a Eucharistic Minister, and I’m able to lead my friends in exercising our faith together.”


DARREN JEFFERSON Major: Computer Science “At Marquette, I know that in every situation, I have the support and guidance of the faculty and staff I work with. It’s a nice feeling to trust that they’re there for me, and I will never be steered wrong working with them. They really care and want students to succeed.

Darren explores his passion for computer science as a research assistant to Marquette professor Dennis Brylow. He’s traveled to Minnesota to co-present research with Brylow and is continuing his research.

Savannah has used the diversity of opportunities at Marquette to explore new perspectives and interests. In addition to her classwork, she’s completed internships, attended many events featuring guest speakers, networked at university -sponsored job fairs and served as a resident assistant for an Honors Living-Learning Community.

If you’re planning to continue your education after Marquette at a medical, dental, law or other professional school, our Office of Pre-Professional Studies is ready to help. We’ll successfully prepare you to navigate the professional school admissions process and make sure you’re academically on track to do well once you get there.

Pursue any major Think of being a pre-professional student as a career interest that complements a major. You’ll declare one of the majors in the Klingler College of Arts and Sciences and you should focus on what interests you most. Professional programs are looking for well-rounded students with broad academic interests. The key is to be passionate about your choices.

Earn a dental degree in just seven years, or a law degree in six If you’re confident you want to pursue a career in law or dentistry, our scholars program might be for you. The program allows students to pursue an undergraduate degree at Marquette with conditional acceptance to the Marquette University Law School, one of two law schools in Wisconsin, or the Marquette University School of Dentistry, the only dental school in Wisconsin. In either case, you’ll earn your professional degree a year faster than the traditional timing.
