On the second triangle make a cut starting from the top to the middle. Use your masking tape to delimitate your paint area on both triangles & faces. Paint as you wish in any color you want. Let dry. Insert the 2 triangles together. The tree is now ready. Make as many as you want.

Draw on your balsa board the feather shapes without any details. Just cut them; make some cuts all round the shapes to create the feather. So far that is it. Now you can paint. Cut a piece of colored thread and glue it to the back. You also can make a hole if you want, It's up to you. Now the Feather ornament is done, you can decorate the tree. z

First wrap the present with white paper; That's your base. Cut some black paper strips at different width. Same for the triangle paper. Star to put together all the elements. First the black paper strip, the sparkle tape, the triangle strip, etc...and finish with your thread. You can add as a final touch a tag. For this gift wrap I made paper feathers {see DIY feather ornaments} and use them as tags.

This is not an easy "do it yourself" but the result is worth it, trust me. Rule number one be patient. Start to cut your cardboard star templates (2) front & back side. Then cut some cardboard strips (you will have to determine your own width minimum 2"). Put together the 3D star with the help of your tape, to assemble it(do not forget to put the sweet in). Add your thread and tape it at the top or bottom of your pinata. Now it's crepon or tissue time. Cut strips of fringe from the tissue paper. Starting at the bottom of the piùata, begin layering the fringe up the sides of the structure. Use a thin bead of white glue. Your fingers will be sticky and filmy if you’re doing it right! repeat until the star is covered. Last but not least the pompoms. Cut some tissue strips and roll them at the center. Attached the pompom to the thread. Repeat the process as much as you need until you are done and proud of yourself. Hang the pinata shooting star.

directions Line 2 baking sheets with parchment. Using an electric mixer, beat the butter and granulated sugar on mediumhigh until light and fluffy, 2 to 3 minutes. Beat in the egg, then the vanilla and salt. Reduce mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour, mixing until just combined (do not overmix). Shape into a 1-inch-thick disk, wrap in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours and up to 3 days. Heat oven to 350째 F. On a floured surface, roll the dough inch thick. Using lightly floured 2- to 3-inch cookie cutters, cut the dough into shapes, flouring the cutters and rerolling the scraps as necessary. Place 1 inch apart on the prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle with decorating sugar, if using. Bake, rotating the baking sheets halfway through, until the edges just begin to brown, 12 to 15 minutes. Let cool slightly on the baking sheets, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Now you can decorate your cookies or best, EAT them.
