ABOUT ME My name is Marta Drapinska and I am graduate of master studies on faculty of Landscape Architecture at Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Poland. I find happiness in discovering new things, in contact with other people and nature. I find happiness in beauty and art, in the freedom and traveling. I find happiness in opening my mind to new experiences. And at the same time I always filter all these feelings through strict thinking. I am always questioning found situations. I often find myself in-between these two worlds, trying to reconcile them. Being ’ in-between’ these two states of mind, being open and creative and then strict and conctrete, going back and forth is for me the definition of good designing process. And it is something I learned and discovered during the year of exchange in Copenhagen. As well as benefits of group working which lets people with different background for easy flow of ideas and thoughts and learn a lot from themselves. That is how architecture became my passion and the way of looking at world. It is not only a profession, but also a state of mind. It teached me how important is contact with nature nowadays and by that how important became the role of landscape architect. By that I feel obligated to create better cities, resilient and sustainable, where people can live healthy and safe, enjoing the beauty of nature.

BORDER ON TEST

VESTAMAGER PURPOSE THERE IS A BORDER OF ØRESTAD ALREADY

WE WANT TO CREATE A BORDER OF NATURE PARK

NEW PUBLIC SPACE

CREATE A UNIQUE PLACE WITHIN THIS STRUCTURE TO SHOW PEOPLE LIVING THERE QUALITY OF THE AREA

REFERE TO THE EXISTING STRUCTURE OF HOUSING AREA

WHAT IS THE PROJECT ABOUT? The latest project that I took part in was the ‘border on test’ project. Urbanism studio course during the exchange in University of Copenhagen gave me a lot of new experiences and knowledge. The main topic was to identify all kinds of borders existing in the terrain and try to deal with them. Our foundation of the project was designing with processes over time in mind. As we found many values in this terrain, we didn’t want to change the character of the place. Big open areas and unprogrammed natural terrains have undoubtfully many qualities in big cities. We decided to create place were people could observe global warming changes and try to examinate different species of plants watching how changes affectes them. Whole band of fields is extension of developed area of Ørestad but in natural form of vegetation.

WE WANT TO PRESERVE SENSE OF OPEN SPACE

BUT ALSO GIVE PEOPLE CHANCE TO CHANGE POINT OF VIEW

BY CREATING A DIKE WE WANT TO PROTECT RESIDENTIAL AREA FROM BEING FLOODED IN THE FUTURE. (SECOND STAGE)

BY TREE ROWS WE WANT TO HIGHLIGHT THE CONNECTIONS WITH HOUSING AREA AND MAKE THEM MORE IMPORTANT.

BASTIONS As Ørestad already had its own corner in form of huge 8building, we decided to design mirror of Ørestad. Bastions have green so they do not desytroy the natural open view of vestamager. In side tions there are spaces that are used as galleries, laboratory facilities, cafes THERE IS A BORDER OF ØRESTAD ALREADY

LABORATORY FIELDS Residential zone is also very important in Amager. We used the pattern of the lots to design the path system and create laboratory fields within it. That would be place where people could observe the climate changes and plants condition according to the habitat. Fields would be open for visitors being a totally new kind of object and attraction in Denmark.

REFERE TO THE EXISTING STRUCTURE OF HOUSING AREA

CREATE A UNIQUE PLACE WITHIN THIS STRUCTURE TO SHOW PEOPLE LIVING THERE QUALITY OF THE AREA

BACHELOR THESIS My bachelor thesis was project of the main square in Blonie (near Warsaw, Poland). Project consists of many elements which shows both, historical and modern side of the city. The most important element in the project is the dry river dividing square in to parts. It’s the reservoir collecting water in the rainy periods. Surface of the square was designed with the angle that allows for easy water flow.

ANALYSIS

ALL THE DESIGNED ELEMENTS HAD ALSO ITS DETAILED DRAWINGS. HERE SAMPLES OF THEM.

COMPETITION

Main issue was to design park in Marki, POLAND. During historical analysis we found informations about steam train that was running through our AOI. We decided to reconstruct train lines and stations but in more recreational way.

MASTER THESIS

STREFA PRZYULICZNA

Przystanki tramwajowe i autobusowe mogłyby zostać zaopatrzone w zielony dach.

“be Zgromadzona w zbiornikach woda może zostać zastosowana do spłukiwania toalet w danym budynku. Woda z dachów rynnami spustowymi trafia do pojemników obsadzonych roślinnością.
