Martha Nugent

I am the oldest of 7 children and love my brothers and sisters. For real. I'm proud to be the mother of Kyle Patrick Nugent, an amazing artist and one of the most interesting people I've ever met. I'm also the mother of the late, Ryan Irish Nugent, who died in 2004. We miss him so much. I was married for 26 yrs to Louis Nugent who died of cancer in 2006. I miss him too & he's my guardian angel. He was a story and a very funny man, the King of the Krewe of Motha Roux. These losses were tremendous and I wondered sometimes if I’d come out the other side. I did. I ask myself, 'how did I survive?!' The simple but amazing truth of it is that – I simply chose it! Then, and only then, my friend, was I able to create the world I live in today. It is a world of truth, integrity, love, joy, acceptance of what is and what is not.
