Martin Flores was born in Buenos Aires in 1958. He was a member of the Argentinean sailing national team in the Classes Optimist, Laser and Snipe both as a sailor and as a technician. He moved to Europe in 1986 and began his experience in the Olympic sailing classes. He spent ten years in Barcelona as a Federal Coach for the Laser and Europe classes. In 1992 he became a member of the technical staff of the Barcelona Olympic Games as a coach of Europe class and technical manager of the Centro de Alto Rendimiento (High Performance Sailing Centre) in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona). At present he is coaching in Lago di Garda (Italy) after having worked at the Circolo Vela Torbole from 1997 to 2001 as the official club coach. Since 2001 he has been coaching two different syndicates in Laser and Star classes, and he is now organizing a Training Sailing Base in Torbole.
