art is a thing of the future

As part of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Peacock, the printmaking workshop based in Aberdeen, we’ve co-commissioned a new piece of animated work for the Music Hall by Glasgow and Copenhagen-based artist, printmaker and publisher David Bellingham.

Bellingham’s work is poetic and concise. He uses a diverse range of media, from painting and sculptural installation to books, postcards and other printed material, to explore the relationships between objects, words and contexts, often inverting our preconceptions about them. instagram.com/davidbellingham

Attributed to Mark Twain, humour is defined as Tragedy Plus Time. Come and join Ed as he tests that formula by mining the most tragic event in his life for laughs.

Gary Meikle: NO REFUNDS

The Horne Section

Milton Jones: HA!MILTON

Ladies & Gentlemen! Gary Meikle is back yet again with another self-written, self-deprecating show to leave you all short of breath again. If you can guarantee one thing from Gary it is that he will work his 5’8 ass off to make sure everyone that sees him live wants to come back for more.

”Britain’s Funniest Band” (The Guardian) have made appearances on The Last Leg (Channel 4), Peter Crouch’s Year- Late Euros (BBC One), they are Dictionary Corner regulars on 8 out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and the only band to ever host Never Mind The Buzzcocks. There’ll be comedy, songs, enthusiastic dancing, and a lot of mucking about.

This is not a musical. Milton Jones is tone deaf and has no sense of rhythm, but at least he doesn’t make a song and dance about it.

He has more important things to discuss. Like giraffes…and there’s a bit about tomatoes. A whole new show of daftness. You know it makes sense.

Jack Dee:

World

Rhod Gilbert: & the Giant Grapefruit

Rob Beckett: Giraffe

Culture wars, the environment British foreign policy and social justice: these are just a few of the topics that Jack spectacularly fails to address (or even mention for that matter) in his brand new show. Join Jack as he guides you through his varied life and career.

When life gives Rhod lemons…

In his last show The Book of John, Rhod was dealing with some pretty pungent life citrus, and an idiot called John. Little did he know that things were about to turn even more sour...

But Rhod’s not bitter; he’s bouncing back and feeling remarkably zesty.

Yes! Bobby Beckles is back on tour. Smashing the life out of the M25, M1, M5 and any other road that’s in my way. From Bromley to Brisbane, my new show Giraffe is going worldwide.

Expectations on me: put on 3 stone from takeaways and post-show drinking.

Expectations of you: leave the gig happier than when you arrived.
