We’re delighted to share our latest season with you packed full of exciting music, theatre, comedy and dance. We look forward to welcoming Laura Mvula, Paloma Faith and Sara Pascoe to the Music Hall for performances across music and comedy. The smash hit Charlie and the Chocolate Factory The Musical visits His Majesty’s Theatre for two weeks in 2023 and we also look forward to seeing packed audiences with Girl From The North Country, James IV and The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Our orchestra season gets in full swing in April with the world renowned conductor Marin Alsop performing with the BBC SSO. We also introduce our Rise Up! weekend in May to celebrate the work of black and people of colour artists in Aberdeen and Scotland. Shona The Musical Choir is an African/Scottish choir based in Edinburgh, presenting original songs from African composer and playwright, Neo Vilakazi, who lives and works in Scotland.

Narrated by comedian John Simmit and featuring ska, rock steady, calypso, gospel, lovers rock, dancehall and Reggae played live by the JA Reggae Band.

Shona, is as Scottish a name as you can find, but is also a tribal name in Africa. In this concert performance the voices of Africa and Scotland blend in the richest of harmonies, with an eclectic western twist, akin to Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Paul Simon’s Graceland album.

WHEELCHAIR TRANSFER SEATS

Our venues are all located conveniently in the heart of Aberdeen City, within a few minutes walking distance of city centre bus and train stations. If you are travelling by car, we offer discounted car parking in the Bon Accord Harriet Street car park. Further parking is available at the Denburn and Gallowgate car parks. There is street to seat access for everyone in all of our venues and wheelchair spaces available at the Lemon Tree, in the stalls and the balcony at the Music Hall and in the stalls, dress circle and upper circle at His Majesty’s Theatre – please request at time of booking. An access guide with full details of all of our facilities, including accessible toilets, access hoists and changing facilities, and Mobile Connect technology providing hearing assistance via smartphone, is available on our website at aberdeenperformingarts.com, by email or at our box offices. Guide dogs and hearing dogs are welcome in all of our venues. In our brochure these icons indicate that audio described, captioned, signed and relaxed performances are available for shows.
