Mary May is more usually to be seen singing jazz and is a regular performer at The Lemon Tree Sunday lunchtime sessions, but this exhibition in the foyer by the award winning artist consists of portraits of jazz musicians who have influenced her work as a singer. Mary gained a degree in Fine Art at Leeds Metropolitan University and a post graduate diploma in Industrial Design at Herriot Watt. She has exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, The London Design Centre, Scottish Artist/Artist Craftsmen (where she was a recipient of the Gatehouse Gallery Painting Award) and the Society of Scottish Artists exhibiton as well as having solo exhibitions nationally. This is a fun departure from her usual large abstract works. All the works in the exhibition will be available for sale via The Lemon Tree Box Office.
