VIGO THIEVES

ELIZA AND THE BEAR

Vigo Thieves recently made history by becoming the first unsigned band to sell out two consecutive nights in Glasgow’s famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut venue and then opened the Transmissions Stage at T in the Park to 3,000 people. Now you can catch Scotland’s next big thing at The Lemon Tree this September.

As a band well versed in delivering that all-important melodic hook, and with the lyrical prowess to match, it’s no surprise that the last 6 months has seen them receive support on the airwaves too. Following a string of high-profile support slots for the likes of Paramore, Imagine Dragons and Twin Atlantic they head to Aberdeen as part of their own headline tour.

STEVE CROPPER & THE ANIMALS

BAY CITY ROLLERS

Perhaps the ultimate testament to Steve Cropper’s immense contribution to music was his ranking by Mojo Magazine as the number two guitarist of all-time (Jimi Hendrix was number one). The Animals were one of the most important British bands of the 1960s. The group is widely considered the raunchiest, dirtiest, and most authentic and uncompromisingly raw band of their time.

After joining the Bay City Rollers in November 1973, the tartan teen sensations, with Les McKeown on lead vocals, shot to superstardom and kicked off Rollermania. With Les as vocalist, their first single Remember shot up the UK charts to No 6 and was quickly followed by Shang-A-Lang, Summerlove Sensation and All Of Me Loves All Of You all hitting the top five.

DAVID O’DOHERTY HAS CHECKED EVERYTHING

MARK WATSON: FLAWS

The forgotten Sugababe, the bad boy of Zumba, David O’Doherty presents a new hour of talking and songs. Take a ride into the Davidzone One man. One small keyboard. With batteries. And a chair. And a mic. And cables. And a sound system. And then a room, obviously. With more chairs. And a lighting rig. It’s surprising how much stuff is involved actually.

Winner of five major comedy awards. 24-hour-show luminary. Novelist. Watson (host of BBC’s We Need Answers, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Mock The Week regular and star of cult Radio 4 series Mark Watson Makes The World Substantially Better) returns to the road. This is his darkest, most personal show yet. Luckily, also his funniest.

IF A, THEN C

If A, then C is a contrasting saga that takes place between two instruments, the double bass (Joris Vanvinckenroye) and the body (Filipe Van Huffel), a duet of pure emotion in an abstract framework. It starts from experience, identity, strength, letting go, loss, desire, change, new beginnings and sudden endings. C is only possible if A has taken place. This emotional and stimulating work is a physical, visual and acoustic assault on the senses. £11 STUDIO (seated)
