DOGSTAR THEATRE PRESENTS
MUNGO PARK
Directed by Martin Lyngbo. Written by Martin Lyngbo and Thor Bjorn Krebs. In 1795 and 1805, Park led two expeditions to West Africa to chart the River Niger and investigate tales of vast gold wealth. Park died on the 2nd expedition, along with nearly all of his party. His journal survived. The play is a tragi-comic retelling of the story, with the 18th century figure of Park interacting with two young men from today. A rip-roaring entertainment and a salutary story.

This not to be missed performance is presented in partnership with Dr Hannah Burrows lecturer in Scandinavian Studies at the University of Aberdeen.

A bit of both – we try and create the right atmosphere for each gig, some will have seats, some won’t – we’ve tried to list it where we can here. If it says ‘doors’ then that’s when the doors open and you get inside for a drink. If it says ‘start’ that’s when the show starts. Some shows have support acts, we can’t always confirm this until nearer the time and ‘start’ can mean the start of the support act, not the main act
