COLOR Color is not something to be afraid of; it gives life to a space in a way that few things can. Adding even one accent color to a previously flat-toned space can uplift the spirit of the entire room. Choose one or two areas of the room to highlight

with a bold statement of color to create focal points. This could be a feature wall, a piece of artwork, or a brightly colored piece of furniture. This will draw the eye and add interest to the space. When choosing the colors, think about the mood you want to create. Different colors can evoke different moods and emotions and hold different energy. For example, blues and greens can create a calming and serene atmosphere, while yellows, oranges, and pinks can create a more energetic and vibrant space. The use of a single color gradient can create a smooth transition of colors that evoke a feeling of warmth and summer. Once you’ve chosen colors that will create the mood you want for the room, add in some accent pieces for pops of color. Throw pillows, accessories, rugs, and curtains are all fun things to update and add more color throughout the room.

Part I FLAIR UNDER THE RAIN The iconic song “Never Rains in Southern California” could never be applied to Houston, where the best forecasters maybe only one-third of the time can anticipate what will happen in our city in the next 24 hours. So a day that was supposed to be sunny and beautiful, ended up pouring from the moment we started the rally from Lamborghini Houston to HARAS Hacienda to Part I of the 2023 Edition of the HOUSTON EXOTIC AUTO FESTIVAL. This year we made it a combined event with the first release in Houston of F.E.I.’s (Fédération Equestre Internationale) famed Jumper Horse Competition. After all, what could be more luxurious and fun to line up together than exotic automobiles and fine horses? Great pastries from The Woodlands’ Levure and Galindo’s finest Colombian coffees were ready at Lamborghini to start the experience before the rally. Although most registered vehicles didn’t show up because of the rain, a good number of beautiful exotics actually did, including Lambos, McLarens, Ferraris, and even a movie-style armored super truck, to enjoy a great Sunday driving under the rain, and to be part of a fun social gathering with friends and great food when arriving at HARAS. We had a good time, while trophies were awarded to the three best vehicles at the show. Although there wasn’t much to choose from, the three winners deserved the recognition: A Lamborghini, a Ferrari, and a “Fast and Furious”-style armored truck (People’s Choice Award).

Part II of the HOUSTON EXOTIC AUTO FESTIVAL will be held at MSR Houston, this time in September, Saturday 23rd, and Sunday 24th, where great weather is expected. And this time around it comes with the great addition of Autoart World! Don’t miss it!

For the past eight years, HARAS Hacienda has hosted Houston’s most exquisite equestrian events, clinics, and shows, both for the general public and equine audiences. 2023 marked a significant landmark for our city, as HARAS was able to add for the first time in Houston the acclaimed Jumper Horse Competition through its Switzerland-based governing body Fédération Equestre Internationale -F.E.I.-. The 4-day Grand Prix event combined its Grand Finale day with the 2023 Houston Exotic Auto Festival. If you missed it, mark your calendar for May 2-5, 2024, for the second edition of this exciting competition. Dressage is the home discipline of HARAS, being the most prominent national breeder of the beautiful and versatile Lusitano horses. HARAS Hacienda now hosts four level two recognized dressage shows and several schooling dressage shows. HARAS also hosts the Central Championship annual finals for both Young Horse Show Series and the United States Dressage Federation’s Southern Series Final for Dressage Sport Horse Breeding in hand. The Hunter Jumper shows have taken off and HARAS now hosts multiple annual events, including two Grand Prix: the Haras Cup and the Haras Jumping Spectacular FEI. HARAS Hacienda welcomes competitors that are just starting out all the way through top-level ranks.

Juventus Academy Houston started building its soccer legacy in Houston in 2015. Partnering with one of the best professional soccer clubs in the World, was just the beginning. Teaming up with the best people was crucial.

As a nonprofit organization, it is their mission to advocate for youth and community soccer education by taking small steps towards big change; having generous sponsors to support this program, made their footprint even bigger.

Juventus is one of Italy’s oldest and most successful clubs based in Turin, with more Italian league championships than any other team; one of the most followed football clubs in the world, with over 300 million supporters as well as 2 Champion European Leagues.

2020 was a tough year for humanity, but it didn’t stop their motto of “Never miss a practice”; they quickly implemented online classes and then came up with a social distance layout in the field to keep players doing what they love the most: playing soccer.

Their partnership opened to four years of successful and sold-out Summer Camps in Houston, bringing the international coaches from Juventus, Italy, to train young Houstonian players; in 2019 they decided to jump into an annual program in the Katy and Richmond areas, with one focus in mind: to lead kids to grow in the world of soccer by developing their technical and mental skills using the “Juventus Way”.

Time flies and in 2023 the success keeps on expanding, as they are growing roots in the Woodlands, Conroe, and Tomball areas.

Players are also offered international programs to give them a broader experience and exposure; they have the well-known “Juventus Training Experience”; this program puts players and families in Italy for a week, to have soccer training while enjoying cultural activities.

The most important annual tournament that takes place in Italy every summer: The “Juventus Academy World Cup”. This is where all Juventus academies worldwide meet to compete and win the CUP; it’s the closest any kid can get to feeling what real professional soccer players go through in the big tournaments.

They offer a variety of developmental soccer plans for girls and boys ages 5 to 19, that include youth recreational and competitive programs, and semi-pro teams. Juventus Academy brings sports and fitness to engage children of the community to invest their time in healthy living habits.

The partnership with Juventus also provides methodology, game model, guidelines, and documentation, with expert-led support, and real people to train the local coaches and make them become better innovators in the field with capabilities to adapt, thrive and shape their game.

Jhonny Di Girolamo, coming from a family that migrated from Italy after World War II, and having been raised in Venezuela and married a Venezuelan, lives by a core principle: “Treat others the way you want to be treated”. And with that in mind, their coaches are high achievers who train players to make a positive impact on their soccer skills and attitude, inside and outside the field.

As Juventus Academy Houston cares for every detail of its program, they offer the best available fields in the area; they count on turf fields for practice, which turns into almost no practice cancellation unless extreme weather conditions are present.

One crucial aspect to consider is the recovery time. Recovery periods can vary depending on overall health of the patient and the procedure they are receiving. “A good rule of thumb for any surgical procedure is to plan for at least 6 weeks of recovery,” Dr. Bullocks said. “It’s important think about upcoming trips, holidays and life events to ensure a patient is healed to fully participate in them.”

The images we see on TikTok and Instagram often give us a false sense of reality, so it’s important to have a realistic understanding of what can be achieved with plastic surgery. While experienced plastic surgeons can deliver stunning results, there are limitations to what can be attained. “To an extent we have to work with what we’re given. Plus the body has natural asymmetry. I always tell patients, particularly when it comes to the breast, we create sisters not twins,” Dr. Downey stated. T-VISA AND GREEN CARD OPTIONS for Immigrants who are Victims of Human Trafficking

IMMIGRATION

Human trafficking, often referred to as “modern-day slavery” is the fastestgrowing illegal international industry averaging over $150 billion a year. Texas has the highest numbers of human trafficking in our country, due to the state’s large population and its international border. Immigrants and children are the most vulnerable to this heinous crime, which is why Congress created the T-visa, in October 2000 as part of the Victims of Trafficking and Violence Protection Act. T-visa is considered a non-immigrant visa, and it offers protection for victims while strengthening the ability of law enforcement agencies to prosecute human traffickers. T-nonimmigrant status is a temporary immigration benefit that enables victims of severe forms of trafficking in persons to remain in the United States for an initial period of up to 4 years if they have complied with any reasonable request for assistance from law enforcement in the detection, investigation, or prosecution of human trafficking. Under federal law, a “severe form of trafficking in persons” is: • Sex trafficking: When someone recruits, harbors, transports, provides, solicits, patronizes, or obtains a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act, where the commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion, or the person being induced to perform such act is under 18 years of age; or • Labor trafficking: When someone recruits, harbors, transports, provides, or obtains a person for labor or services through the use of force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery. An individual must prove eligibility for the T-visa by showing that he/she: o

Is or was a victim of a severe form of trafficking in person as defined above. Is physically present in the United States, American Samoa, the Commonwealth and Northern Mariana Island, or at a port of entry due to trafficking.

• Form I-914B, Supplemental B, Declaration of Law Enforcement Officer for Victims of Trafficking in person and evidence to establish complying with reasonable requests for assisting the law enforcement. •

A waiver on Form I-192 (if needed).

There are certain benefits associated with the T-visa. Individuals who are issued a T-visa can work and reside in the United States lawfully. Eligible family members of the trafficking victims who have received T nonimmigrant status can apply for a special T visa for derivatives as well. These family members include the spouse, child, parent, or an unmarried minor sibling of a victim of trafficking who is under 21 years of age, or the spouse or child of a victim of trafficking who is 21 years of age or older. Also, derivatives can apply for work permits as well and there is no fee associated with the application for T-visa. Also, under the Trafficking Victims Protection Act of 2000 (TVPA), the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is the sole Federal agency authorized to certify foreign adult victims of human trafficking, and foreign minor victims of trafficking so that they are eligible for Federal and State benefits and services to the same extent as refugees admitted to the United States. Certification and Eligibility Letters are issued by the HHS Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR). Certified and eligible victims of human trafficking and their derivatives can receive benefits and services necessary for their safety, protection, and basic well-being, such as housing and food assistance, income assistance, employment assistance, healthcare, and foster care. After three years of obtaining their T-visa status, T-visa applicants and their derivatives are eligible to apply for lawful permanent residency (green card option), and eventually apply for citizenship. Human trafficking occurs every day and we all must be aware of it. Over 2 million children are trafficked yearly for forced labor and sexual exploitation.

Has complied with any reasonable request from a law enforcement agency for assistance in the investigation or prosecution of human trafficking.

Demonstrates suffering of extreme hardships if removed from the United States.
