One year on – Monasterevin ladies football to surive or succeed DECEMBER saw the first awards night for Monasterevin senior ladies football team. The regeneration of ladies football this year has been a massive success, bringing over new members to the club in alone. This was reflected in the support shown at the awards night in the clubhouse on December. Reference was made to the efforts of the team in fundraising during the year. Thanks to all who supported. While the levels of players’ skills and experience are varied, the end of saw a huge improvement in all players. Their dedication and commitment was commended by club chairperson Therese Martin. It was noted that although the season had ceased, members continued to show their enthusiasm by attending indoor training on a weekly basis. Rewards are sure to follow on the scoreboard in . The award for most improved player of the year was given to Karen Mangan. It is incredible to think that Karen was a total newcomer to ladies football in . days, but in every single training session. An up and coming player, there is no doubt Karen is one to watch in . The coveted players player of the year was awarded to Debbie Coughlan. A talented footballer at underage level, Debbie’s prowess on the field cannot be under-estimated.
