About Me

Hi! My name is Martin Garcia Jr. I was born and raised in Southern California, in a city about an hour east of Los Angeles, without traffic. Growing up I spent a lot of time outside playing in my family’s garden with my Hot wheels and Lego. I’ll always remember spending my days outside in the garden building cities for my Hot Wheels and Lego and letting my imagination go wild.

In between then and now, I went to school at Cal Poly Pomona and studied architecture. I graduated and have worked as an architectural designer, designing buildings and working with architects to build buildings, not cities, but close enough. Around my fifth year of school, I went out an purchased a Nikon D3400, partly because I aspired to capture the beauty and elegance of the built and natural environment, but mostly because my best friend convinced me to.

As a photographer, I am deeply inspired by the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, “life is about the journey, not the destination.” For me, photography is not just about capturing a moment in time, but rather, it is a way to document the journey of life and all its beauty, intricacies, and complexities.Whether I am shooting landscapes, street life or my recent interests, toy photography, I always aim to bring a sense of composition and balance to my images. I believe that every subject has its own story to tell, and my goal is to capture that story and share it with the world.

In a world that often becomes fixated on reaching the destination, I find comfort in the journey itself, in the moments that make up our lives, thus Waypoint Fotos. As I continue on my own journey, I am grateful for the opportunity to share my perspectives and tell the stories of the world around me through my photography.

I was drawn to landscape photography because of my deep appreciation for the beauty of the natural world. From a young age, I have always been fascinated by the majesty of mountains, the serenity of forests, and the awe-inspiring power of oceans.

As I grew older, I realized that photography was the perfect way to capture these fleeting moments of natural beauty and share them with others. Through landscape photography, I am able to preserve the beauty of nature and transport others to these stunning locations, even if they are unable to experience them in person.

But beyond simply capturing beautiful images, landscape photography has given me a new perspective on the world around me. It has taught me to slow down, to observe, and to appreciate the small moments of beauty that are all around us. It has allowed me to connect with nature in a deeper way and to find peace and inspiration in the natural world.
