Think about it... Let’s face it no one enjoys the hospital, there are very few good instances of being there outside your child being born. But think about the possibilities of decreasing the longevity of your stay in a hospital, or even think about what the room could be like with modern technology. Think about if you could have a comfortable rest and not be hooked up to monitors. Imagine a hospital room that was sleek with nothing but a monitor on the wall, and all sensors were wirelessly connected to the unit. What if no germs could be left on this equipment because the doctor never actually touched it. Think about your health records being downloaded to your room in real time, and updated to a cloud so your regular practitioner could view them at your next check up. Hospitals could end up looking less like hospitals and more like hotels, making it easier for you to rest and heal.
Imagine not having to worry about the germs on monitor surfaces; since no one ever touches them. The benefits of not having to spend money on disinfecting products, money that can be better used on life saving research. The possibility of not adding waste to land fills in the forms of medical surface barriers, you know the blue plastic that covers everything.
What if it was all connected? What if your doctor had your medical records in a cloud and should anything go wrong and you ended up in a hospital they could be accessed right at your bed side. What if they same interface updated in real time with your monitored conditions throughout your stay. Think about this interface being controlled by haptics and the doctor just has to adjust dosages and pressures mid air with the sensation of really touching an object.
