my definition
“Essentially we want you to investigate what translation means. It could be in relation to language, biology, mathematics, movement or any other area where the concept is relevant. Your project can take any form and be in any media you feel appropriate. It does, however, need to contain some information and communicate this to the audience.”
“Translation” from latin - carried across.
That means for information: the same one sign/ meaning applied/ reflected in another format/outcome for different kind of platform/audience to perceive in easy understandable way. The purpose of this is to make it much more easier to convince. In normal language speaking - translation in info graphics is - to show to “normal” people what it means.

Firstly, translation reminds about languages. Translate from one language to another. There is a common understanding about “language tree� and usually this tree is an oak.

Translation of an animal language. Or how people are trying to reflect animal language’s sounds in to sounds they can pronunce and in the same time, if said to another human, he/she would imagine the animal whos voice that was meant to be presented.

Spam food is: translation of “bad� human habits. Mass feeding with the same produce (shit), to make them able to be fed quickly to maintain daily routine for working class. This food typically consist of: artificially grown meat, vegetables grown in sponges and fed with chemicals, fruits which never saw sunlight etc.

Translation is not transformation in time, in to different object It is about showing meaning or feeling in a different way. So from this point of view theme about Rotten is in place. Its translation of love to music, icons, movement, personalities, images; its about calling a pet in this name instead of writing graffiti or carving on walls; translation of never ending appreciation to favorite celebrities by calling a pet in their name.

To find on web other many other dog owners who gave their pets names after well known musicians was more impossible than I thought. It must for sure than out there are many dogs who could be named after Mercury, Jackson, Lenon, Madonna or Fergie. Findings for dog named Rotten, led only to number of one, also it didn’t say if he was named after “Sex Pistols� Rotten.

Dogs are wild animals, however friendly, likely to abbey, but still animals. They are not toys! Stop dressing them like a dolls! Stop giving them spam food! They enjoy droppings from your dinner table they dont mind meat lion you have left unattended, while opening doors for your guests they want that special one bone you just threw into the bin with no valid reason for the dogs understanding. Stop shouting on them when they bark! They want to guard, its in their DNA they want to destroy all the mail suddenly entering the mail hole in their house. They want to take safeguarding responsibility of the place where you live. They love to make mess, depending on mood, but they also enjoy your clean bedding, especially if you are out! Dogs dont have private bedrooms, so dont cover your childs eyes when they are trying for puppies. Basic instinct. “SPAM DOG” So what would happen with expression like this? Does it exist? I went out to the park to see poeple with dogs. Most of dog owners say that their dogs always understand them, but some call them ‘stupid creatures’. At the time in the park were van representing organization called “People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals”, so I talked to them too and get some leaflets telling also about dog behavior.
I had many different dogs on my own. And can tell you that it does not matter what the words you say them mean. Dog pays attention to intonation you address to them. You absolutelly can call them ‘shitty rubish’ in very nice voice and they will love you for that.

By default you can translate almost anything in graphic presentation. Almost anything, - smell? yes - to combine for display such an ugly dismatches that customer will leave wobbling and unwanting even breathe near the exhibited piece. But, still, the rule is one - you have to know the audience! What for the one is sweet - for another is vomit... ...like reading Nietche.

Difficulties with translating the word “woof” from english to most of other languages via “google transllator” encountered are: This translation tool do not translate exactly the asked word, but translates in most languages the overall meaning of the word, or what the phrase is supposed to mean. Therefore we obviously are getting wrong [priekshstats] about how thing(word) actually should be said in another language. However, in some languages it translates absolutely precisely giving to people clear understanding of how to say word in another language.

Rike is dog girl, puppy found abandoned together with her brothers and sisters in the woods. They were rescued and taken to offenege in Veterinar University where she was sold to a young boy, 7, as he was looking for a little friend-dog - someone who he could trust as he had no parents. They became best friends. For the project she suits as she could bark in any language in the world, depending what nationality owner would be her friend, thanks to loyality what all abandoned dogs have. From the graphic side she has a ready to bark opened mouth in picture. That is good as letters describing sound can kind of come out of there.
finding the lead for dogs
This chain could be very historical, even, possibly , it could have been travelled all around the world. This piece, weighing nearly one stone, I found washed out of river Thames in Cutty Sark. From this place ships were travelling all around the world, seeing different people and hearing many languages spoken. So may did the chain. So this chain suits for the translation project. Also many dogs are kept on a chain, but to make it more trendy, association with jewellery and names written on a plates in chain, would be ideal where the name of each language could be written in a language tree.
