Ceremony of Initiation… After 7 years of silence of a printed version we are back finally again. And why you may say? Because we think that is necessary a printed version, not only for us bur for all the zines around. With this you must keep in mind that we are not saying webzines aren’t useful (we will keep doing our webzine as well), but definitely a printed version express the real feeling of the underground in general basis. To get your copy and to express the work of the band and the editor is a great help to the scene. Well, this issue 12 is dedicated to the 80’s scene and the old feelings as you already figured it out. I know our current times is filled of this ever growing wave of children that had never heard any band of the past or known the real feeling of that decade. Well, this one is a small Tribute to that Glorious Ages when not everything was money or poses; there was also feeling, compromise and ideas. But I ever think that ever will exist époque to all. So also we are including some great bands of these times that will you deserve more attention on them. If we have any kind of followers (well I think that must be a few ones or no ones) will know our position in all the fields of think so our position in all over these 19 years in the scene is the same. About our scene: Like quantity of bands, zines and labels has grown a lot, but like scene in all is full of shit. No union, no friendship only interest. The bad is that is the same thing since a lot of time ago is no new nothing new under the sun (I have read this in any part...) so we have a more strong work to change it. This issue is the first step to try to do of us a more serious work and try to help to grown our scene. Will be not easy even not difficult. So read this issue try to enter in our website and keep in contact forever. Horns Up!!!!!!!!!

Explosion Cerebral - Which was the main idea of form MX, in a time was said that MX means Madre Xamã or is more the misil peacekeeper? Alexandre: The main idea of form MX was gave for the 3 initial members (Alexandre, Morto, Decio) and at began the name means the peacekeeper missil, after 1 year or more arise the idea of “Madre Xamã (black magic mother), but it’s was only for fun, not so serious. Some people still calling us of “Madre Xamã”, I don’t care.
that’s was the begin, after this LP the MX was the fucker records choice, and the bangers choice, so I have proud of this, OHHHHH yesss was better than Warfare noise!
Explosion Cerebral - Simoniacal was your first release, what was the better of it, the music, lyrcs, art of was and all that make a jewel of this release? Alexandre: The Simo-niacal was the first ”serious job”, I has a black drum to play (location) with goods cymbals, pinstripes, better amplifies than the Explosion Cerebral - Do you think normal days of garage, a good technionthe began that your music will cian, but the studio no have the ideal have the status of cult, that have condi-tions. it´ always was the fuckin nowadays; how do you feel like problem here. Good studios to record new bands and banger name you thrash metal. Bbut the songs are like their influences and faves really great … bands? (considering the year of this Alexandre: It’s great, how I told you, in compilation -1986/87). I think that this the beginning it’s just for fun, And be is an album with simple lyrics but all of came like a influenced band, prove them have any sense, the art of front that’s our music still working. cover is fantastic, really great, the back cover is a BIG SHIT that was Explosion Cerebral - What do you made by one of the Fucker Records think about your participation in Directors, it’s sad but true. The better Head thrashers, do you think that of this album was the repercussion; was better than the Warfare Noise? no doubt about this. In that moment Alexandre: The MX has a good the MX was walking to the top of participa-tion in Heathrashes album, thrash metal Brazilian bands, and
4
after some months OF Simoniacal tour this really happened. Explosion Cerebral - How many shows have you played, which was teh best one, are you playing nowadays? Alexandre: Many many shows, during the 1897 to 1990 something about 190 or 200 shows…. We has great shows here , like headliner and opened band too, like Testament Tour -1989, Kreator (they don´t came, and about 15.000 bangers waiting for this show), the MX has conquered more fans than we knew, the show was unbelievable all the 15.000 bangers screaminnng our songs…in that moment I saw that the MX was bigger and bigger… we inviting some members of Sepulltura (Igor and Andreas) and João Gordo (RDP), and we make some noise after MX show, was fuckin great… We play with Exodus too, 3 great shows, this is one of my favorites bands , and I was very happy to play with them…, Another curious show was in Soracaba (São Paulo City), with the Paul Díanno band, the public was heavy to see Paul Díanno and thrash to see MX….very nice too, Played good shows with Sepultura and others
good bands from here. We don’t have plan to go on the road , but some good shows we will can play…. it’s always good play and fell the bangers alive…no price for this….is the best.
Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru? Alexandre: Peru is a mystic place, with many archeological sites, pro-tect an unprotected natural areas, Explosion Cerebral - You borned in a wonderful wild life that we must the ABC era-scene, one of teh est protected, an unprotected natural times to Sao Paulo, which was the areas , a wonderful wild life that we source of inspiration to create too must protected , heritage cities, Peru many good bands? is the land of Incas - machu Picchu in Alexandre: All the members born in Cuzco. A great place to travel. ABC (Santo André) (ABC is formed by Cerebral What 3 citys - Santo André, São Bernardo Explosion and São Caetano state of São Paulo, happenned with the band, why we live in a big city, like all of them split-up and why do yo decide to have many problems , social disturbs come back? , violence, we have big factorys, Alexandre: I and Morto are great commercial avenues, etc. I think that friends, we are always together, and the people of ABC is different of the we talk about MX every day we saw, others regions of São Paulo , here we and we decide make some new live in a big city but we still have a records. We contact Décio (first MX union felling, like a tribe a united line-up) and we are recording some tribe. We have proud of this too, I songs like a test before the new CD. think that´s make difference. And it is happening, we are playing news songs, I ´m really satisfy with Explosion Cerebral What results. happenned in the The World's Thrash, did you play alone like MX, Explosion Cerebral - Your last what happenned with the rest of release the last File, shows us bands? again all your power, are you satisificed with ir, which have bee Alexandre: See Answer 5 the answer of the media? Explosion Cerebral - Which was the Alexandre: The Last File, in my difference of Mental Slavery with opinion is the BEST MX compilation, your first release, which is better this album is all of creativity, different to you? voices that I used, heavy guitars, Alexandre: The Mental Slavery was a music to listen and destroy all great evolution, musically, recording , around, I love this Album, but it’s not I learn to play much more in this was distributed correctly, and the album, is faster , heaviest, with more promotion to the media was failed too, individuals abilities , in my opinion is I would like to work this CD much better than Simoniacal, for other again… Who knows?? side the Simoniacal has music’s that maked the MX big in the scene. For Explosion Cerebral - To you, which is the me 2 greats compilation. difference that Explosion Cerebral - Are you you see to planning to record a DVD, which the scene will you include in it? Alexandre: We have plans about this, now you are making new songs, and after that I Think that we can think better about this, I would like to include old videos, shows, we playing football, the big party’s and mad houses, will be funny. And a catastrophy for ours wife.
throw all these years? Alexandre: In the past was very difficult .., no access to good instruments, no good Studios, no specialize records but the public was really great, fanatics, this is the good side of the past, the MX make part of this scene. Was great times! Today the things happening faster, all the bands can record a CD and by good instruments, but to be a great band or have the public acceptation is difficult too. Anyway this is the actual scene and the MX will be present again. Explosion Cerebral - Are you preparing new stuff, are you think t play put of Brazil? Alexandre: We don’t have plans to put off Brazil, we don’t have time for this…we have hard work here, have our families. Is difficult to us, but it’s not impossible. Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? Alexandre: We want record great songs , fast, heavy and make our CD , the best of MX album´s, have a good distribuition and maybe make some shows and put the MX on a media again, stronger. Explosion Cerebral - Any last comment? Alexandre: Sorry about my english, it takes a long time I don’t speak English, I hope you understand me. Explosion Cerebral - How do you discover the music, who did introduce you in the metal music, which was your first record that you bought? Marco: My cousins when I was very young. My first bought album was Sabbath Bloody Sabbath. Explosion Cerebral - Witches Hammer was your first band, why did you form, was your beginning in the scene or have you played in other bands before? Marco: I started that band when I was 15 years old, it was my first band. Explosion Cerebral - Why did you decided to reissued your Lp, will you do teh same with your demos why? Marco: The demos were reissued on nwn productions titled Canadian Speed Metal, They were the 1985/86 demos. Explosion Cerebral - Are you skinhead in your private life, do you belong to any party, or are you only support the military way? Marco: No I am not a skinhead, Black Metal skinheads are not associated with any parties. Explosion Cerebral - How was the idea to form a Black Skinhead band, how do you do if also was a black man in the band? Marco: Black metal skinheads are satanic skinheads. There is a black man in the band. He is blasphemy's guitar player caller of the storms. Explosion Cerebral - Here in Peru 2002 more or less was a news that you will play here in a Black festival, what of true was it, did you
Marco: I didn't choose it, it was given to me for who I am in my personality and my woman was known as the goddess of perversity. Explosion Cerebral - What happened with the suicide of the editor of the French magazine Ocean Morphique, did you play in the tribute to him? Marco: No we did not. Explosion Cerebral - How are your shows, which is the difference in each show when you are in stage with your bands, what do you feel in the stage? Marco: I feel just energy, live shows go by quick. Explosion Cerebral - Now you are playing in Tyrants Blood an old school thrash band, is inspired in Exciter "Blood of Tyrants", do you have any new stuff released? Marco: No there is no correlation between us and exciter, Tyrants Blood is our name, blood of tyrants is a song, Tyrants Blood is also a poem, it has nothing to do with each other. Explosion Cerebral - What do you think about the retro way, kids with 20 or 23 saying that they love the 80s when they don’t exist in that scene, do you think that now all that is only pose or do you believe in them? Marco: I don't care what anyone listens too. Explosion Cerebral - Your private life is different to your live in a band, do you believe in love in a family, will you play forever? Marco: My family has been together since the beginning and will always be. It is not much different
Explosion Cerebral - Are you Satanist, which is your opinion about Crowley and La Vey, which is your most important writer? Marco: I like some Crowley and only a little bit of La Vey. Explosion Cerebral - How do you see the actual scene, what do you think of bands Like Mayhem, Emperor, Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, do you think that are no more black metal bands or do you think that they are evolutionate? Marco: I like the old Mayhem, but none of the other bands mentioned. Everything changes, it has too, what someone else hates I like, and vice a versa, makes no difference to me. Explosion Cerebral - What about the old Canadian bands are they still in the scene, the members are metalheads or are they now parents with childs and prejudice to the metalheads? Marco: Some are very much still here, others are not. Razor, exciter still play, Voivod still play, sacrifice do not, most stay the same in there memories I see them here as not prejudice against the music they grew up on. Explosion Cerebral - Is Tyrants Blood in lyrics theme different to your previous bands, where do you get your inspiration to write your music? Marco: Inspiration is the same as always, dark, heavy, power. Explosion Cerebral What is the most important person in your scene and in the international scene and why? Marco: There is no one more important in our scene. These days it’s a collaboration of many rathere than a few like in the old days.
heard anything, did you get the money for this supposed show? Marco: Rumour, untrue.
than the band, we were all friends from a young age before we decided to become musicians, so they are all tied together.
Explosion Cerebral - Do you think that Blasphemy mark a difference in the scene to create black metal, why? Marco: Only maybe that we were the originators of black metal skinheads, this is our mark and ours alone.
Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru or South America? Marco: Never been there, however I do enjoy a lot of the metal bands form there.
Explosion Cerebral - Why did you use that nicknames, why so long, why did you choose Traditional Sodomizer Of The Goddess Of Perversity?
Explosion Cerebral - Do you have any political idea, which is your opinion about your government, is more important a seal that the people? Marco: Our governments are weak, but they take good care of its citizens, corrupt but not as bad as most countries, here life is easy.
Explosion Cerebral Any future plan? Marco: Only to finish this album with Tyrants Blood, prepare our merchandise, play some shows, tour and then write for the next album. Explosion Cerebral - Any last comment? Marco: Fuck what anyone thinks, do for yourself. For more info write to: cativo@shaw.ca

Explosion Cerebral Zine - Paul, how did you create the sound of DISEMBOWELMENT, from where appear your influences to do your music and lyrics? Paul Mazziotta: 99% of the writing was created by Renato. Originally we were a Noisy Grindcore band called Bacteria. We wanted to move away from the noise factor and try something doomier & heavier with a death metal influence. Some of the influences while this transition occurred are Immolation, Sarcofago, Asphyx, Therion, Cathedral (old), Paradise Lost (old), Crematory (swe), Nihilist, Abhorrence, Autopsy, Rottrevore & Dismember. Explosion Cerebral - How was born the idea of the name? Who was the idea from? Paul: Once again, it was something Renato came up with. Because we wanted more a brutal Death Metal Doom approach, we liked the name disembowelment. I guess it was influenced from the Autopsy tune disembowel. Explosion Cerebral - You released your first demo in 1990 called Mourning September, which was teh answer of teh bangers, did you wait an answer like that? Paul: Not really. I guess like most bands you start off having some fun jamming, finding your feet in that realm of music and if it keeps going, you progress from there. We enjoyed tape trading back then and thought it might be cool to record something and send it out to a few people. We were just happy to record as it was kind of a novelty at the time. Explosion Cerebral diSEMBOWELMENT grew in the beginning of teh Doom Metal scene, what happenned with otehr bands of the same style that changed, what do you think happen with this style nowadays, do you think that is a too personal sound that a lot of people dont understand?
8
Paul: I'm definitely not an expert on the doom scene(s). I enjoy listening to some doom but don't really look at it that closely to be honest. I guess with every genre of music or metal, there are going to people or bands who are on different levels of seriousness to what they are creating at the time. I mostly enjoy the music side of it rather than what bands represent or write about. Explosion Cerebral - What about shows, did you play in live, which was the atmosphere that you need to play, with what bands you share stage? Paul: We never played live and NEVER will! Explosion Cerebral - I think Dusk (with your full length) is one of your best worst, how was the recording process of this Ep, was the first time that you use the D only like logo? Paul: The Dusk EP was our first release with Relapse. After we recorded our 2nd demo "Deep Sensory Process into Aural Fate", we distributed this to a number of labels to see if there were any bites. Relapse offered a deal, but before we recorded the full length, they were keen to get something out before the full length. So we recorded a new song in the same studio as the 2nd demo and remastered the 2nd demo tunes. This came together as the final product for Dusk. The d logo was 1st used on the 2nd demo artwork which is pretty much the same as the Dusk cover artwork. Explosion Cerebral - Transcendence Into The Peripheral was your last release of that time, how do you consider the creation of all your music, do you think that this reelase have the cult status, why? Paul: I know some people feel it has a cult status to the release of Transciendence. I think that is most flattering as I believe there are many other bands way before disembowelment who should receive that status. Why would we recieve such a complement? Maybe it was the way we incorporated death/doom with ambiance
which stood out in comparison to other death metal or death/doom bands at the time? Explosion Cerebral - What have Australia to release ever cult bands, what have the Aussie bands that other bands dont have? Paul: Not sure. I don't think it is the water here or the fact we are one of few countries that have no bordering neighbours. I don't think it is an Aussie upbringing. Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru or South America? Paul: Peru. Very little. South America. We were into a lot of death/thrash bands from Brasil in the 80's especially when Sepultura were just starting out. We used to get mail from Chile as well. So we are aware that scenes in South America are live and kicking! Explosion Cerebral - Now you are thinking to release your previous material, are you thinking also in a reunion again, what about the other members? Paul: The re-issue was Relapse's idea and we were happy to go with it. As far as a reunion goes, it wont happen. Not everyone is interested. Most Band members have moved on. Sorry. Explosion Cerebral - Are you a depressive person, what do you hate and fear in the world? Paul: Generally speaking, I am NOT a depressive person. The only thing I fear for in this world is psyco's around who may confront my kids. Explosion Cerebral - Also you are playing in a death grind old school band, why, will you play doom in other band? Paul: Yes, this band is called Pulgar (www.myspace.com/pulgargrind). Matt created this band. It started many years ago as a one man band. Then he called
me up and asked if I wanted to jam. I did and we've written some tunes and now it's a matter of recording a demo as we are keen to record. This stuff is a mix of old school death/grind/thrash with some influences of current bands like Phobia, Putrescence & Kill the Client. We do toy with playing doom. Who knows, we might create something with Pulgar which will be in the death/doom funeral doom feel? Explosion Cerebral - Do you think that the underground scene have changed a lot, why? Paul: The Underground scene is alive and well. Yes it has changed alot. The Internet has definately changed the way we communicate with people around the world and accessing music is that much easier. I must admit, I still enjoy writing the odd letter and sending a tape/CD through snail mail. There are still many bands trying new things or even playing old school sounds which is really cool. I think the WOW factor
is dimishing more and more as it is harder to be more extreme in different ways which haven't been done before. Explosion Cerebral - Are you a depressive person, what do you hate and fear in the world? Paul: Generally speaking, I am NOT a depressive person. The only thing I fear for in this world is psyco's around who may confront my kids. Explosion Cerebral - How do you see all teh satanism present in the scene, do you believe in anything? Paul: I'm not into the Satanism thing. At the same time I'm not against it either. I enjoy the music for the music not what the bands are trying to communicate. I love the power, agression & intensity it can create within me. Explosion Cerebral - What do you expect
of teh music in these year, will you do a tour tribute to diSEMBOWELMENT? Paul: disembowelment will NOT tour period. As far as any other releases are concerned 3XM Productions are releasing our re-issue on vinyl. (www.myspace.com/3xmproductions) Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? Paul: Other than jamming & recording with Pulgar, I'd like to jam with other bands (when I have time). Who knows Pulgar may play live and play a disembowelment cover? Explosion Cerebral Any last comment? Paul: Thanks for your interest Martin. Keep the underground faith alive. All the best. Home-Page: www.myspace.com/disembowelment

Explosion Cerebral - How was the beginning of the band, why did you decide to form Devastation? Pat: I was playing in a band called Solemn, a slower, heavier death metal band. This was 1984-85. Erv & I wanted to play faster metal, but the bassist wanted to stay slow. So Erv and I left to form Devastation. We found Frank and Troy, and it all fell together. We were one of the first in Chicago along with bands like Terminal Death and Master. Explosion Cerebral - Your music is too violent thrash fast, aggressive, which are your influences, do you hear new bands, do you think that your sound have changed or that will change? Why? Pat: We love Venom, Slayer, Bathory, Dark Angel, Celtic Frost, and many punk bands. We started playing very heavy, and eventually became more technical due to Erv and Frank’s Guitar/Bass talent. I wasn’t sure this was the best path for Devastation, but it all worked out
10
very well. As for your other question, I personally do not like many new metal bands, but I understand that music has to progress. Duane likes some new metal like Mudvayne, but for Frank and Erv, I don’t know. Explosion Cerebral - A Creation of Ripping Death was your first demo, in how many time did you record it, how was the acceptation of the public are you thinking to re release it? Pat: We recorded 2 demos, “A Creation of Ripping Death” and “A Re-Creation of Ripping Death”. They shared some of the same songs, but the main difference being Troy on vocals for the first demo, and Duane on vocals on the second. Duane: We are talking to a couple of labels interested in putting the CD recordings out. It would include demos, the unreleased LP, and live shows on a double CD. There is an unauthorized CD floating around. Please don’t buy it.
Explosion Cerebral - How many shows did you play it, with what bands have you played, which was the most important to you and why? Pat: We played with At War, Master, Terminal Death, Aftermath, Burnt Offering, etc., mostly local Chicago bands. We really didn’t play out that much. Death Metal was still new, and clubs didn’t want to book the shows. Our first show with Terminal Death was great, the place was packed! But our most important was in 1987, when we played and won the Chicago “Battle of the Bands”. We have a live video of that. Duane bruised his ribs stage diving at that show. Duane: Yeah, that was a great show. The crowd was really into it, and by that time, we had a really big following. The people that ran the show came up to us before we went on and asked us if we needed a dressing room to change into out stage attire. I guess they thought that they were gonna see Motley Crue or something like that. But the bruised ribs, that was funny. At the last minute, I decided to dive,
and when I got to the edge of the stage, the monitor cord rolled under my foot, and I want straight down onto a row of tables they had set up in front of the stage. It hurt like hell, but Pat and I were leaving for Florida the next morning for spring break. Explosion Cerebral - Why a Re-creation of Ripping Death, why similar name, what do you think in theta moment? Pat: We just wanted to re-record the first demo with Duane on vocals. Thus, “A Re-Creation” was the obvious title. Explosion Cerebral - Do you think that Devastation has a cult status in the scene, did you have had any problem with the other American Devastation? Duane: I think we have a bigger following still than I had first imagined. I was searching around on the internet, and saw that there is still a demand for music like ours. So I started the website, www.devastationmusic.net just to see what would happen. Then I got onto Myspace, and the response was incredible. What other Devastation are you talking about? (HA-HA) No, we never had problems or even spoke with them. Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru or South America? Duane: Isn’t that where people put those big plates in their lips? (Just Kidding) I do know that Peru and South America really love heavy ass music, and are very loyal fans! Thanks! Pat: its south of us!!! Explosion Cerebral - When will be out rereleased your album through New Renaissance, do you have a name to it, will you include any new song? Pat: We never signed a deal with New Renaissance in the 80’s. As I mentioned before, we are talking with a couple of labels interested in releasing the whole catalog. This includes demos, the LP, and live shows. Duane: Yeah, New Renaissance was just one of a few labels that we were talking to back then, but they seemed to be the most promising as far as a release. I know I hope we can do some new songs to release.
Explosion Cerebral - The last compilation album, who released it, have you do any arrangement to the songs, are you satisfied with it? Pat: It is a Bootleg, not a real record company. The overall quality is ok, but they did not bother to ask our permission to do it. Buy the official release soon. Duane: I have an idea of who released it, since I have lost all contact with this one guy who was looking to get a copy of the live video. I told him some jerk put out all of our stuff on CD, and I have not heard from him since then. Explosion Cerebral Have Devastation splited up any time, why the reunion, what do you do in your private time, did you remind to Devastation? Duane: I don’t really think it could be called a reunion, but it’s been great so far. I always have been very proud of what we did back then and I still enjoy listening to it. It’s really cool when my son brings his friends over and they listen to Devastation for the first time. When they ask who it is, and my son says it’s my dad’s band. It feels good to see the music passed onto a new generation. It also brings back memories of a really fun part of my life. For my private time, I sleep, and I know that Pat drinks. Explosion Cerebral - Do you have any interest in politic, what do you think about terrorism and the wars that began with it? Duane: I am not really into politics, but I do know that the puppet in front of Mr. Cheney is not the
person who is running the country. As far as the terrorists go, I think that they finally got sick of getting screwed around by our government. Pat: Kill all terrorist bastards!!!!! Explosion Cerebral - Through about these years in the scene, which is your personal opinion about the scene itself, the changes, the bands, the bad or good on it, what do you think about the bands that change their style or ideas about a same point? Duane: I think as Pat said before, music has to progress, but all this rap metal stuff rally sucks. Too bad Anthrax had to screw things up. I think that the guy who quit Korn, was the smart one there. Pat: Chicago had a badass Metal and Punk scene in the 1980’s. Things have changed here, and it seems like everyone is out for himself. It’s not much of a scene anymore. Explosion Cerebral Any future plans? Put out the CD. Put out shirts and stickers. Hopefully record again in the future, who knows?! Explosion Cerebral - Any last comments? Thanks for your time and interest in Devastation.
11
They started in the scene called like Transgressor, and then they changed the name to Intruder mixing their Speed/Thrash with political lyrics and showing the worries of the metal scene for the common problems in the world. We contacted to John and we talked with him about the new Intruder and its past. Explosion Cerebral - Do you have the same force to play after 22 years, will you stop to play anyday? John - Music is in the blood – at least for me. I have stopped playing every now and then but never for long. Like anything else in life you get burned out and you have to step back for a bit. But that desire to play music is too strong! So, no, I can not ever see me where I put away the drum sticks for good. Explosion Cerebral - Why did you dcide to come back, what happened in 1992, was your last show? John - We got an offer from the Classic Metal Fest in Chicago after we did an interview in a magazine for old school thrash bands (in 2002). I looked up Arthur and the rest of the guys and they were into the whole idea. We had not played together in over 10 years! As for what in happened in ’92, we had
12
gotten a new manager during the last couple of years and she succeeded in driving a wedge between everyone in the band. Plus our record label Metal Blade had no interest in the band and ignored us. So we just kind of imploded at the end. Explosion Cerebral - Live To Die was your first work, how was the answer of the media, are you thinking to release with a new production, do you play still that songs? John - Dave Richards from Iron Works did a great job with the release with all the promo items, etc. The problem was that he was a very small label with not a lot of money for advertising. So in the US and other countries it was not well known. Strangely, it was very well known and successful in Japan! People that DID hear it loved it. We do still play a couple of songs from
the 1st LP – ‘Kiss of Death’ and ‘Cold-Blooded Killer’. Explosion Cerebral - In 2004 you released your last work Live To Die Relived, are you thinking to record news themes to a new Cd or do you prefer a vinyl, have you change your style I said is more technic and melodic than violent? John - We are presently in the studio rerecording songs chosen by the fans for a ‘Best Of’ CD. There will be a brand new song on the release as well. A very cool song it has a little old Intruder and a little new Intruder in it. It will be released on Hellion in Europe. I am not sure if it will be out on vinyl. It’s up to Hellion, of course.
Explosion Cerebral - Do you think that a thrsh band must have politic lyrics, or dont you think that, in what are based your themes? John - I think bands should be free to express themselves anyway they want – any band! When people reviewed our music, they always made mention of how good the lyrics were. As the main lyric writer for the band, that made it all worth while! I was (and still am) a voracious reader. I would read 2 or 3 books a week. I would go to the library and do research for weeks at a time on the topics I would write about in the songs. I wrote about things that I though needed to be addressed and that other bands didn’t write about. Inspirations were from Sci/Fi to Horror to Politics to world events. For example, ‘Geri’s Lament’ is a song about the abuse of old people in retirement homes, ‘Genetic Genocide’ is about the abuse of gene manipulation (in the 1980’s! I was ahead of our time!), ‘The Martyr’, a song about Terrorists and religious fundamentalists.
general idea, is your art an extension of the creation of the music and lyrics? John - All of the cover concepts were created out of my twisted imagination and, yes, it is definitely an extension of the lyrics and music. Live to Die’s cover was inspired by a scene in the movie ‘Excalibur’. As we did not have a budget for the cover, a friend of mine did the drawing for the LP. Once we moved to Metal Blade we had a budget for the covers. I saw a cover by the band Overkill and I thought the artwork was very unique. I found out who the artists were and gave them a call. I had some ideas for the concept of the covers and then Fastner & Larson drew up some sketched with various ideas of the concept I had. Once the band agreed on the concept we let the artists get crazy. They were fun to work with as they did a lot of book covers and did not get to be as sick as they could be. We gave them the opportunity to just get crazy with it. We got a lot of praise for our artwork.
Explosion Cerebral - How have been your shows, with what bands have you played, do you think to tour South America anytime? John - We have only played some festivals in Germany the last 3 or 4 years. Everybody has so many work and family commitments it is hard to get everyone together to play live shows. And Arthur and Greg, our 2 guitar players, are playing in other bands as well. Explosion Cerebral - What is the most unexpected thing that has happened during a live show? John - Early on in our career we played a benefit show at a community college. Well, they had never had a thrash band there before. When the pit formed and kids were slamming into each other, the college dean freaked out and pulled the plug right in the middle of a song. The fans started getting crazy
because they did that and security people where using cattle prods and shocking them. It was totally craziness! Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru or South America? John - Well, I do know that it is home of the Andes mountains and the Amazon. And Metalheads, of course!
Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? John - We are in the studio recording a ‘Best Of’ CD. All the songs were picked by the fans at our website (www.intruder.biz). We will also be featuring a brand new track as well. It’s basically a thank you to all the fans that have stuck with the band through the years. It’s taking a lot longer than I would like but it will be well worth it. And there will be a brand new INTRUDER song which is worth the wait! Explosion Cerebral - Any last comment? John - A big thanks for the opportunity to answer your questions. We are always amazed that after all the years people are still interested in our music and what we have to say! johnpieroni@comcast.net
Explosion Cerebral - How do you do to separate or to have time with your normal works and the band, is difficult to have free time to play and tours? John - It is very difficult to have free time to play. This is why we only play live every year or so. Everyone has regular jobs that keep us busy (and to make money!) So when we do play it’s because we love it, not to jump on the reunion bandwagon (as have many other bands…) Explosion Cerebral - What does creation of tracks look, do you meet in rehearsal or maybe do you send yourselves the working versions of tracks? John - We always write new songs together at rehearsal. Just jamming for awhile and see what works. We tape this sessions and them I listen to them and arrange the songs to the lyrics that I have written. Explosion Cerebral - Who is doing your cover art and

1 – Nuclear hails, Atomic Trash & Morbid Butcher. Firstly, a big thanks for your bestial support. From 1987/88 to 2006 it’s a long time resisting on the Necrounderground. Congratulations for such a victory. Well, introduce Morbid Butcher to the readers of this Necronomicon. Atomic Trash: Extreme hails, real proliferating warriors. It’s fucking great that I can proliferate all my ideals and visions about extreme metal to this fucking great zine. MB really got a path on extreme radicalism and it keeps its starting ideals up to today. We are still fighting to never let extreme metal lose its essence and to defend radicalism until fucking death. Our initial proposal is to triturate posers, false and fashionable people and defend the flag of radicalism and extreme music for all eternity. 2 – I believe MB is the oldest band from Colatina – ES. So, tell us how was the scenario in Colatina in the old days and how do you compare to nowadays. Atomic Trash: Morbid Butcher is really the oldest extreme band from Espírito Santo. Colatina has always been a reference in the state, when talking about extreme metal. This is since the 80’s up to nowadays. The scene is still strong and united, we have the bands: Morbid Butcher, Vomito Blasfemo, Diabolical Torture, Algoz Nazhareno and Black Misantrophy. We have fanzines as: Obscure Infinity and Ato Profano. In addition, we have a fucking great festival called Necromantical Screams. Only seven fucking warriors and some others from another cities and states does all these things to fight to always keep metal Real and Extreme. 3 – It’s a long time since the 80’s. So, what is your vision, as a veteran, about the three Metal ages: the 80’s, 90’s and the new decade? Atomic Trash : It is very complex to talk about such matter. There are many distinct things. The 80’s were the beginning of every fucking radical and extreme sensation. The following years are just a continuation of it. The 80’s are immortalized because there were many changes. In the 80’s it was very hard to buy LP’s, edit a zine, a band. Only very dedicated people would go into the Metal stile. In the beginning of the 90’s there were many new bands and warriors that should keep the legacy of extreme metal, but there were a fall on attitudes and ideals. Many bands and bangers sold themselves to commercialism. From the 90’s up to nowadays I fell an extreme decadence on extreme attitudes. There was also the Internet. Today anyone can download albums and choose to be so fucking evil, a black metaller, a fucking old school or a traditional head banger or even a Viking. It is just like a carnival party. With all those aspects, extreme metal is coming down and getting weak. Those boys just want to show their faces. From dawn to twilight, they become Lucifer’s own sons. And in a year or two they turn out to be christians. But we still have big warriors to fight for our cause, to keep the flame of extreme metal alive. Just to simplify, if was not for the 80’s we would still be listening to Iron Maiden, Ozzy, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin, and Wasp. There would be no extreme metal. 4 – I know the horde is influenced on Sodom, Possessed, Sarcófago, Carcass, Hellhammer, Genocídio, Extreme Noise Terror, Nuctemeron, Necrobutcher… What does it mean “Grin Death Core Dilacerator Black Noise Metal”? Atomic Trash : Our music is the most fucking Death Metal from the 80’s. “GrinDeathCoreDilaceratorBlackNoiseMetal” it is my project, to keep my origins, and in all our new demos, we have a song based on such stile. To understand our beginning try to imagine a mix between xisma and agathocles, Napalm Death (scum) and Carcass, Sarcofago and Possessed, Venom and Vulcano and every torturing thing you can imagine. 5 – The band released seven demo tapes. The first three “Randiness of God”(88), “Shit”(89) and “Tudo – Anti Técnica / Tudo - Anti Profissionalismo” (Live Tape / 90) are the most notable and counts on the
original members Atomic Thrash, FuckChrist and NecroDisgrace. Don’t you think it is time to immortalize the band with a release on LP and 7Ep format? Atomic Trash : We are thinking about re-releasing those tapes. I though about releasing a box with the first three, containing pictures from the old line-up and rehearsal songs as bonus. I also though about releasing it on vinyl format, but that demand more money. I wish to re-record everything again with the new line-up. 6 – “Tudo Anti – Técnica / Tudo Anti – Profissionalismo” is a live tape. I believe that concert was very important for you. Tell us the details of that concert! Don’t you think would be great to re-release it on vinyl? (laughs) Atomic Trash : It was a great festival in Vitória – Espírito Santo. Bands like Anal Infection, Expulser and Brutal Extinction were playing on the same night. At that time only radical guys knew about us, so we arrived as a band from out of this world. Nobody knew our grind death core dilacerator black noise metal. When we played there were many warriors watching us and it was fucking great the public reception, specially when we played classics such as: “bestial reencarnation”, “fuck of Thrash”, “anti-tecnic”, ”vomits christ” e “cerebral destruction”. It was devastating. Shit was when a boy from a famous Thrash shit band threw a chair and shout: “this ain’t music”. That time I knew I conquered my objective of truncate thrash shit boys. About re-releasing this tape. I have that ideal, but I have other priorities.
7 – The band split-up in the 90’s, but it returned in 1998 with the “Morbid Butcher Return”. What was the reason for both actions? Atomic Trash: Actually we never split-up. We would only give it a hold ‘cause of line-up changes or lack of places to rehearsal, but we never split-up definitely. When Fuckchrist left in 91 we stopped ‘cause we couldn’t find warriors willing to our ideals. However, as you know: “warriors never die, warriors live”. Blackfuckchrist came into the band and we returned in 93 with the following line-up: blackfuckhrist guitars, Atomic Trash - drums and vocals and Necrodisgrace – bass. Already in 94 we released “The Dark Plague”, which is totally anti-posers, false and trends. In 95 we gave it another time ‘cause we didn’t have any places to rehearsal. In 98 a friend of us set a bar where we could find and we returned with full force. Necrodisgrace left the band in 98 and B. Corrente took his place adding his guttural vocals to our songs. Following we released “Morbid Butcher Return” and “Fly for Darkness”. In 2000 I built a little studio at home and after a hold in 99 we returned with Grotesco on drums, Rafael (Vomito Blasfemo) on guitars and Atomic Trash on bass and vocals. We released “The Black Mass” in 2000 with Impuro on guitars. In 2002 we started working on “Estuprado de Freiras”, but we couldn’t finish it ‘cause I went to Europe and stayed there for two consecutive years. In 2005 I returned and since then we’re working on “Estuprador de Freiras”. Grotesco left the band ‘cause he’s going to Europe. Our nowadays line-up is: Atomic Trash, Impuro and Rafael. We hope to continue real and extreme for a long time! 8 – Talking about returns, what is your opinion about “Retro-Metal?”. I mean, old commercial bands coming back to their roots. Posers like Sex Trash, Venom, Celtic Frost and all that gang from Cogumelo Re.
Atomic Trash: I analyze that in two different ways. When we are young, we do not worry about nothing ‘cause daddy is there to guarantee us. But it comes a time where we have to take big decisions and give priority to certain things. However, we have to see when those bands split-up and when they have returned. It is good to see old extreme bands coming back with full extreme force again. That is great! But it is different, for example, from bands that sold themselves to thrash shit and now is coming back with and extreme and old school tendency. 9 – It is obvious that MB is an ultra radical band. Many pseudo black metallers don’t like you ‘cause you have Grind influences, and they say Grind comes from Punk. They only forget that radicalism in Metal comes also from Punk, don’t you agree? Many hate you ‘cause you are too radical. On the other hand, you have a legion of fans. I have heard there is a Morbid Butcher tribute coming out. Please, comment. Atomic Trash: Shit man, you know about lots of things. Haha! For me there must be adaptations and we adapted all the most extreme music there is to produce our own music. We evoluted in brutality. As you said we had grind influences ‘cause we listened Napalm Death, Carcass, Agathocles, Extreme Noise Terror, Craw Noise, Xisma, Necrobutcher, Nuctemeron and many other fucking great bands. If those black metallers you say don’t like our influences tell them just to give a look at Sarcófago’s “INRI” and see D.D Crazy. That scenario appeared in Brazil when that thrash shit fashion was invading. Therefore, we decided to play the most raw and dirty music possible to be played. And you wanna know why? ‘Cause we wanted every one playing technical music, all posers, trends and false to hate us. We wanted to keep metal the way it’s: extreme. It’s really been mentioned by some warriors that tribute idea. I think that’s great, ‘cause it’s the recognition of a extreme band that will be immortalized. 10 – Atomic, thanks very much for your time. Many bands refused to answer this interview, but you showed us we have that deathbanger feeling and not only time on the scene. Please, give us your final words and send a great hail to Martin Lazaro and Peruvian warriors. Atomic Trash: thanks great warrior Necroripper, Martin Lazaro and Explosion Cerebral fanzine and all supportive readers of this fucking fanzine. Those who identify themselves with my ideology and my extreme radicalism, where I have seen an extreme warriors reign fight against posers, false and trends shall have my thanks too. After conquest everything I have seen some warriors succumb to commercialism and fashion, which long ago they helped to destroy. I hold the theory of “man is false, but music is real.” Nowadays those real warriors are banned or forgotten, but their legacy will remain and we shall fight to keep this extreme reign on top, ‘cause extreme metal was born to be eternal till the end of times. I’ll always be fighting against the fashion and commercialism and on their lack of attitude, ‘cause three big influences have succumbed to the fashion: Antichrist (Sarcófago), Tom Warrior (Hellhammer) and Tom Angel Ripper (Sodom). These three warriors will serve as an example for those who want to be promoted on magazine pages.Extreme Metal is the kind of music where you fell proud to play it, ‘cause is the kind of music the media can’t manipulate. I hope this great fanzine and its editors will only promote real and extreme bands, ‘cause those bands need it. And only real warriors that defend radicalism until fucking death keep touch with Morbid Butcher. Eternity to real warriors and death to the false ones.

Murillo Leite (Vocals/Guitars) W. Perna (Bass) Dennis O. (Guitars) Fabio M. (Drums) Genocidio was considered by some media like one of the worst works made in that time WHEN THEY RELEASED THEIR EP. Nowadays all that stuff is cult, where will THOSE BRAINCHILD’S BE TODAY? WELL, Read the next:! Explosion Cerebral - About all these years, how have changed the band, is different your sound? Murillo: We’ve been listening to a lot of stuff such as Gothic Rock, 80´s sound and of course Metal at all, and I think our sound has got influences from all these styles to make our typical Genocidio sound, a mix of heavy and dark moves. Explosion Cerebral - How do you feel with this come back, what have you done well Genocidio was not active, have you involved in other bands? Murillo: I’m really glad with this comeback after ten years waya from Genocidio, it’s the best and most influential band I’ve played ever! I’ve played on a band called Mastiff, it was pretty good to keep playing, but nothing compares to Genocidio´s atmosphere! Perna: I’ve been only playing acoustic guitar at home, enjoying my little daughter. Explosion Cerebral - Which are the bands that introudce you to the metal music, which are your main influences to write your music and lyrics? Murillo: All ages of Metal music have influenced me and my guitar/vocal styles, but if I could name some of them I would include Black Sabbath, Venom, Metallica, Voivod, The Sisters of Mercy, these and some other bands and musicians have contributed to my way of writing songs. In terms of lyrics, Genocidio has talked about many things all over these years, but nowadays we´re more concerned about UFO´s and their relation to mankind. The recent events related to man and his stupidity to deal with his evolution are also good themes for us.

Explosion Cerebral - Your genocidio Ep is a cult till our days, how do you conceived it, are you planning to re released it? Perna: At EP times we were young fans of Venom, Hellhammer, Discharge, we wanted something beyond the Metal scene then. Maybe someday we can re-record it at all or some songs of it. Explosion Cerebral - Are you planning to record another video, what song will you use to record it, any DVD in your plans? Murillo: We’re planning to release a live dvd, which will be recorded next September. It will also feature some bonus videos, as promos, interviews and other surprises for the fans. I guess it will be available in the end of this year or beginning of 2007. Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru? Murillo: I know there are many metallers in there, but unfortunately I can’t say any name of a Peruvian Metal band, I hope someday we can go there to know the local Metal scene and as well as the Incas culture. Explosion Cerebral - Have you record any new release since your rebellion, do you have new themes? Perna: After the Rebellion tour I had an accident at Galeria do Rock (a mall in São Paulo) which made me stop for some time, but I believe that though this whole problem and the lack of support from the culprits, we’re back and yet stronger! Explosion Cerebral - Where are the old bands of your time and your old members, are they still in the scene?
Murillo: To be really frank I don’t know where they are and what they are doing, but I wish all of them good luck!!!! Explosion Cerebral - Are you playing in live, with what bands have you played, what about your old shows, which are the main difference with the actual ones? Murillo: Our first gig after the return will be the DVD concert on Sep. 30. Then we will play a lot, but nothing has been set about Tour Dates yet. As soon as we set some dates we will inform through our site. Our current shows are really better than the old ones, once the current band is more technically effective. Explosion Cerebral - Being major nowadays, do you have time to your family and the band, how do you do to arrange your time? Murillo: And we work as well!!! Yeah, we got to share our time to enjoy our family, wives and kids, but they understand our passion to our music and we deal with this situation the best we can. Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? Murillo: Record and release the DVD, play gigs and next year, have the new Genocidio album. Explosion Cerebral Any last comment? Murillo: Thanks for your support, and we hope someday we can play for you all in Peru. Keep in touch! Thanxs to Tatiane for the help to do this interview. Learn about Genocidio at Official website: www.genocidio.com.br
Explosion Cerebral - Why did you change the name “Ultima Chance”, was different the sound in that time? Javier: We changed the name two times, first time when Zero, the first bass player, asked us to change the name for something more radical, he asked to use RadEsquerda, something like "radical left". After sometime he decided to leave the band, so when Eduardo joined us, we decided to change the name once again. This time, we thought the name Armagedom would fit better in the main proposal of band related to suffering, misery and agony of people provoked by the governments and corruption.
Talking about Brazil and its 80’s scene could be tired task, because a lot have been said. But there also existed a scene that mixed Hardcore with Metal. And bands like Armagedon appeared and took the flag of those aggressive times. We did a chat with Javier to know about their activities, read it!
Explosion Cerebral - How do you do to be active 24 years, what was the most difficult like band? Javier: Well, we had two gaps in our history, first was in 87-88 and the second was in 93-97. Those days, to keep the band live was really hard for us, very expensive and time consuming, mainly cause we also have families to take care, jobs and all the bills to pay. Things like instruments, rehearsal place, drums, studio recording and etc were very difficult for us. Nowadays the things are much easier, I mean internet and digital home studios help a lot!!! Explosion Cerebral - Since your first demo, do yo think that yo have changed yor sound, are you writing your lyrics from the same topics? Javier: I think Ultima Chance was even worse than Armagedom!!! Haha!! We evolved a lot in terms of playing, when we started nobody knew nothing of instruments and tuning!!! In terms of lyrics we have the same topics although now we also write about the world and not just the local/brazilian things.
Explosion Cerebral - Finland has a Bra-zilian band in European minds, how was to work with Forca macabra, will you do other split with them? Javier: Força Macabra is a brother band of us. We are always in contact and they are part of my life. I could be there three times, the first one we recorded a ep together, second time to play in Puntala festival and the third when Armagedom was doing the European tour, we played with them also in both Força Macabra Brasil-tours. Otto Itkonen released the Principio da Agonia LP and helped us a lot to do our eurotour. So, we had many projects together and we
Explosion Cerebral - Do you think that the punk hardcore scene is dying in Brazil, why? Javier: I think there are many fake things related to punk nowadays in Brasil and around the world, I don't know if the scene is dying or not but we will keep doing the same thing we always did no matter what! Explosion Cerebral - With what bands have you played, are you planning todo a tour for all Southamerica? Javier: We could play with many new and old bands. I would love to do a South America tour, but it is very difficult money $$$ and time (our work.)
Explosion Cerebral - Your Ep “Apogeu da Insanidade - Crepúsculo da Humanidade”, is your last release, how is the distribution and promotion? Javier: This EP was initially released by Absurd records
Explosion Cerebral - Are you compo-sing new stuff, when will you release a new Lp, will be an independent work? Javier: We have two new songs to be released next months in a split EP with BombenÄlarm, I am very anxious for this release. We also are ending the mixing of 14 songs for a new record. It will be independent as usual, first idea is to be a CD and who knows also a vinyl LP version.
is your last release, how is the distribution and promotion? Javier: This EP was initially released by Absurd records (Marcelo) that did a very nice job. He released three version, one with color vynil, a box with t-shirt and patches and also a picture ep. Julio from Helvetet records (Peru) released the same record in CD Digipack format with bonus tracks, a very good version too. So, the guys are doing the distribution. Explosion Cerebral - Do you consider like an anarchist band, why, which is your opinion about emocracy, do you think that work it? Javier: I believe in anarchy but we are not exactly an anarchist band. I think democracy in the way we see nowadays in Brasil and many other places like US is a lie, the people are manipulated by media and propaganda and we cannot believe in politics in general. In my opinion, only the winds of anarchy may take us to better places. Explosion Cerebral - You have also made a homage to Acao Direta, why did you choose “Progresso Destruição”? Javier: Because it is a good song and we could do a very Armagedom version of it!!!
Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru? Javier: Well, I know Julio from Helvetet records! Haha Of course I know the usual things like Machu Pichu, Sendero Luminoso but I have no other information from Peru.
Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? Javier: To keep on the scene!!! Explosion Cerebral - Any last comment? Javier: Thanks for this interview, it's always nice to keep contact with all friends around the world, if someone is interested in listening to new Armagedom songs, please go to: www.myspace.com/armagedom You may check our new song Vingança, that is part of our split EP with BombenÄlarm. If you want to write to Armagedom use the email armagedom@hotmail.com. will do much more in the future.

complicated to have people to share the same ideal, to have the same attitude. Today we executed a more brutal sound, with that feeling of the end of the decade of 80 and beginning of the nineties, that, though it includes them influences of HC, Crossover, Death Metal traditional and of most aggressive Thrash. We are not creating anything again, just presenting a sound to be also private. When they speak in HC, leaning in "Subconscious Terror" from Benediction, and simple drums and touches HC. It is of this perspective that the things work for us. Something deeper than definitions of the media, something really dirty as the music underground it should be.”
Why was create Unborn, what do you want to express with Unborn? “I always had involvement with bands since 92, then after some time and finding the right people, it was possible to form Unborn. No there is anything of special or of glamour behind that everything. I and my band friends are just fans of Metal with attitude underground. We are not musicians; we don't have commercial vision to the band. We have families, children, and responsibilities. Unborn is an energy to unload the stress, but it is also the accomplishment of our Underground philosophy.” How do you compose your music and lyrics, which is the most important to you? “Our music is composed together, but always initiate with some guitar riffs. We are going working the ideas to the little, naturally. Today with this current line-up, the things work much simpler and practices. Our music are not complex and nor techniques, we proceeded more the instincts of a good beat and a good riff to bang a head. The lyrics are composed by me, and they are written with base in the reality that around. Music and lyrics are of same importance, like it happened with the Dorsal Atlântica.” Are you releasing your first demo, will be an independent release or are you working with any label? “It is probable that it is released in partnership with some distros/labels. But that is something that we should analyze with attention, because it worries us plenty the distribution of the material, that the right people arrive, to the right public.” You have background like members of other bands, do you think that your actual sound is totally different to your previous bands, which are your main sources of creation? “It is different from certain form, but basically our objectives are the same ones. The involvements in bands act a moment of life in certain time. Here always it was
18
Have you played in live, are in you plans to play in live? “Our last show was with Tortures Squad. We played little live. With the line-up change, we had a delay in our plans. Now we are only at our room of rehearsals and focusing to record our demo. Shows, only in 2007.” You have in the scene a lot of time, which is your point of view about the reborn of the 80s, re releases of old demos and new child’s that said that they were in 80s? “It is valid and welcome. We needed new blood in the scene, with this intention of rescuing the old essence that it was the eighties. Best to have a young one forming a band in the line “Pleasure To Kill”, instead of playing these dirt’s like Slipknot and Marilyn Manson. Each person has freedom to produce their music, but I prefer the youths living the years 80s, instead of this whole shit of American MTV. These new bands "years 80s" also contribute to the old bands return to the active, as well as also the fans of the old ones return to the scene.” You also do the cult Deusdemoteme zine, how is to do a zine, what do you consider important in a band to be include in your zine, how did you do to keep in throw all these years? “Deusdemoteme existed during one decade. There is more than 6 years left the last edition. I miss that time, of the letters, of the you demo-tapes. But this magic time passed for me. Maybe some day I can return to edit the zine, because I want that enough. Editing Deusdemoteme that I met several bands, people and recognition for those that really lived the underground. But it belonged also with the zine that I met the rotten side of the businesses of the underground music, to greedy managers, bands opportunists, rip-offs. This dirty side inside of the back stages of the scenery, I didn't support, and then I decided to move away me for a time.” What do you know of Peru? Well, not a lot, unhappily. But I know great MORTEM, and other bands as HADEZ, KRANIUM, TARKUS, ANAL VOMIT, BLACK ANGEL, and zines as yours, Cerebral Explosion, and other publications as Headbangers, Metal Head,
Testament, etc. I would like a lot visiting your country, to go to the shows and to drink the best cold beer of your city. What do you think about the Lula election, do you have any interest in politic? There are many years left of believing in the Brazilian politics. In most of the elections I voted for null. I didn't vote for in Lula this time. He represents an entire deception today with the leftist ideal, that he so much defended and it struggled. We have a music that talks about politics and to can, calls "The Fall of Ideology". This music presents the greed for the power and the forgetfulness of old ideals. In what format will you want to be released your stuff CD or Vinyl, why, do you think that is important the format or more the band? My formation as headbanger is would originate of the time of LPs (and 7´EPs) and demos in K7. It would be magnificent to accomplish a release in these formats, that today are restricted to the true lovers of the underground art. To record a CD is the most natural thing nowadays. Until I can admit that a national label already demonstrated interest in released something of Unborn in 7´EP. Are you involved in other projects, do you have enough time to your private life, do you trust in love? In spite of being involved with other projects inside of the underground or of the musical scene, these projects don't occupy so much time like this. I have a normal private life, with work in an office, family and son to feed. What is to you Satanism and christianism, do you think that is the same cerated by a religious mind? The history of the satanism is based on the denial requirement to the pattern, to the religious cult, to the dogmas, subtmeter to god etc. But, today, people that satanists are said equally fanatic as most of the Christians. The spirituality process is very individual, but I feel that the people are not resolved spiritually, and when they are involved in some religious activity and even against the dogmas nuns, it is to satisfy their material needs. We have a music that approaches this theme, calls "Dogmas Massacra". Independent of the color of faith, it happens in the people a domestication of their feelings, and they are guided always by somebody to do their choices. DRAKSEN (Mexico) By: Martin L. Band Contact: catalanpunk@yahoo.com
1- What have you been doing through out all these years? Are you playing again? I have been playing but sporadically. I’m married now and have a little daughter and a demanding daytime job, but the metal hasn’t died! I still love metal as much as I did 20 years ago and yes, I’m playing drums in ROTTEN SKROTTEN, a kind of thrash metal band. 2- Why did you change the name, Drakkar to Draksen, apart of only 3 letter which was the main reason? Back in 1988, we got a fanzine from France that had an album review by a band called Drakkar. Since we sent our music to all parts of the world, we didn’t want to get mixed up with “that” other band, which I think never did anything else after that album. We wanted to retain the old name so bad that we were reluctant at first to change it. In the end, we only changed the last 3 letters. We wanted to call the band “Drachen” which means “Dragon” in german, but, you know us latins! I don’t think most people could have pronounce that properly, so we added the “k” to make it sound rawer. Besides, “draksen” doesn’t mean anything, as far as I know…unless I’m missing something!!! 3- Do you think that you Draksen’s full lenght was a bad release, which was the main difficulty that you had to it? Was a bad choice of the label? That album is, what I think, our crowning achievement as a band. It is a real shame it was released at the “twilight” of our career. MIX RECORDS was the only choice of label we had; none of the more “famous” metal labels from around the world were really interested in us anymore. They were more interested in all out Death metal or Black Metal. Thrash metal, as aggressive as it was, was a dying scene. With grunge coming and all that, we really were one of the last thrash bands in Mexico. MIX was a very small label and they never released our album on CD, which was a real shame. They were enthusiastic about us, but never gave us the chance to fully develop. The Draksen album is, to my taste, the best musically played and musically competent work the band has EVER done. It might not be the most well known worldwide, but it is our best work.
20
4- Do you think that From Beyond is your better work, why did you included “Guadalajara” song? “From Beyond” might be our best known work worldwide, in an underground level. It opened a lot of doors for us and made us play in many parts in Mexico. It was a major step forward compared to the cheap sounding debut demo, “thrashcore”. We included “Guadalajara” for many reasons. Firstly, we ARE a band from that city, Guadalajara. Secondly, we wanted to take a very popular Mexican “folk” song and thrash it up. It was unheard of at the time; no one was doing this shit. We were proud of being from Guadalajara and we wanted to get our city known as a metal city. And, it was fun to play, hahaha! 5- With what bands have you played, which was your best show, have you played out of Mexico? Uff!!! That’s a tough one. There were always equipment problems, you know that. We weren’t rich and we didn’t own good equipment, but we made the best out of what we had. I particularly enjoyed some of our very early gigs. One that we did in our hometown in 1988 along with PENTAGRAM. TRANSMETAL’s first show in Guadalajara, they played with us and that was also good. In 1991, at the end of the “From Beyond” tour, we opened for SACRED REICH and played in front of, like, 2,500 metalheads. That was great. And the first gig promoting the album, in 1993, was really intense. We played with DEMOLISH and SEDICION, a great local punk band. All in all, there a lot of good gigs, but also, some really bad ones, haha! 6- You have sent me an mp3; do you consider that you are more technical nowadyas, are you preparing new themes? I have the plan of re releasing Draksen’s debut album on CD, with some bonus material, for some time now. Draksen’s last songs were getting very technical, but at the same time, very brutal and fast. Some of our friends told us that we were “mellowing” out, but they never bothered to check the newer songs, like “Improved Hatred” or “Subversive”. Now you have bands like THE HAUNTED or KILLSWITCH ENGAGE playing this stuff! Anyway, I think the album will be released
next year. As for new themes, that’s going to be hard since we disbanded 13 years ago, ha! 7- What do you know of Peru or Southamerica? I used to write to many friends in Peru, from Lima mainly, but we lost touch over the years. I’ve heard some amazing Thrash bands from Peru, but it’s been a while and I don’t remember a lot. 8- Are you planning to re release you old demos, a reedition of From Beyond is in your mind? I’ll include some of “From Beyond’s” tracks as bonuses on the re release, but like I said, the Album IS the main thing, and the versions of “From Beyond”, “Poisoned Environment” and “In The Name Of The Cause” are far superior on the Album than on the demo. It also depends how much material I can jam into a conventional CD… I’d like to release 80 minutes of pure mayhem. 9- Do you think that you scene have changed a lot since the 80s, what about the old bands, are they guys still in activity, are they into the scene still? The scene has changed… for the better, I guess. Back when we were doing our thing, we had no internet, no mp3’s, no file sharing, so it was a bit harder, but more rewarding, promoting the band. Thrash metal has made a comeback of sorts; SLAYER is still strong a and METALLICA looks like going back to basics. THE HAUNTED and ARCH ENEMY are two of my favorite “new” bands, so I guess the scene looks healthy. Some of DRAKSEN’s ex members are still pretty active. Oscar del Rio, our first bass player, now plays guitar and sings in a melodic punk band called GARIGOLES, who have been very successful underground wise. Alejandro Isaac, our other guitarist during DRAKSEN’s last line up, plays in FAHRENHEIT, a power metal band, and are doing extremely well. These 2 ex members are the most active ones. I for my part, after DRAKSEN, formed STAMINA, which was a more melodic punk/metal band. I disbanded the group last year. Now I’m playing drums in a metal/grind/thrash band called ROTTEN SKROTTEN, along with 2 other friends. You’ll be hearing from us soon!
10- In what do you trust, in your demo you thank you to God, do you belief in God, how do you define to God? I think there is a supreme being. I don’t know if it’s god or whatever. In what I don’t believe is in religion. I think we’ve been against religion in many ways. We’re not a “Christian” band or anything like that. Besides, I actually don’t remember putting that on the demo! 11- How do you think the actual metal scene, what do you find better or worst, do you think that black metal is a pose nowadays? I think Black Metal, as a musical entity, is great. It’s fast and it’s brutal and it’s against conventions…metal should be that way. What I don’t like is the religion-like fervour of some of these bands. If they love Satan so much, then they MUST believe in God. It’s like hating air and breathing it all day. It doesn’t make sense. But I get their intentions. I like clever black metal, like EMPEROR. They are my favourite black metal band! Other bands look like KISS wanna be’s, you know; all that silly paint. What is that shit? Yeah, it looks OK, but it also looks silly. Some bands are cool, others are just a bunch of posers! 12- What do you think of politic, which is your point of view about your actual government? I don’t believe in the system, but to fight it, you MUST embrace it. You can’t just throw rocks at the system and expect to be heard. You have to work from within, like a virus. In Mexico, we have this Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador Shithead, who thinks he is the new messiah, who thinks he is the legitimate president. It’s all bullshit you know. I hate that guy. He wants to make EVERYONE poor. He uses people’s ignorance to win them over. He is a sick fuck who should be shot dead in the head! 13- Are you still into horror movies and stories, how did you create your music and lyrics, which were your main sources of inspiration? I love horror stuff. I’ve been a fan since I was like
10 or 12 years old. When I had DRAKSEN, it was a great outlet to express what I liked, what interested me. Fortunately, the rest of the guys in the band also liked this stuff. Like “From Beyond”; that’s a Stuart Gordon movie, based on an H.P. Lovecraft story. I also love Soundtrack music, classically influenced soundtracks, like STAR WARS, JAWS, ALIEN. Some of the music there is really twisted and sick and the perfect inspiration for ANY metal band. A great deal of what I wrote for DRAKSEN was inspired by John Williams and Jerry Goldsmith. Songs like “Improved Hatred” are very layered in what each guitar is playing, very “ensemble” like. There were also some very political songs, inspired by what was Mexico like in the 80’s. Songs like “El Informe” and “Estupidos” are some of our most political songs, the last one being “Subversive”, from the album. As far a regular rock bands, I have a wide variety of tastes: I’m a huge METALL ICA fan. I don’t care if the play SALSA or CUMBIA , I still love them and they taught me most of what I know on Guitar. JUDAS PRIEST, IRON MAIDEN , SAXON, RIOT, MEGAD ETH, EXODU S and MOTOR HEAD to name a few.
Also, CHEAP TRICK for the melodies and SLAYER for the all out aggression. German thrash was also of great influence not only on me, but on the rest of the guys; SODOM, DESTRUCTION, KREATOR, DEATHROW and TANKARD to name a few. And, of course, lots of hardcore punk. I was the punk head in the band: MINOR THREAT, D.R.I., HUSKER DU, SUICIDAL TENDENCIES, MISFITS, etc. We really had many influences! 14- Do you think that the Mexican TV makes a bad idea to the people in your country, that artist or false stars help to your country? Mexican TV sucks. I hate it! Save for a few shows, most of it is really bad and aimed at culturally damaged people…the kind of people who would vote for an asshole such as Lopez Obrador. In soap operas, every actor is tall and blond, and all the girls look like they came from Sweden or Scandinavia, which is a fucking lie. Most Mexicans are dark skinned, dark haired…there are some very beautiful brunette girls. Mexican TV shows in general are terrible! 15- Do you have any philosophy like band or person? Be yourself. Don’t follow trends unless you truly identify yourself with them, and speak out; whenever you don’t like something or think something is not right, speak it out loud. I admire people who have ideals. Everything we do on a daily basis is based on ideals. Not having them is like not having a soul. This is my philosophy on life and within the band. 16- Any future plans? Releasing the DRAKSEN album early next year. It will be a labor of love and meant for all the people who liked us and who would like to have our stuff. I don’t plan to make any money from it, just enough to recoup what will be invested in it. I might add a multimedia part and include a video of the band. I have plenty of videos from us playing and over 3 hours of us recording the album, so I might edit that for the album, I’m not sure. I hope people will like it! 17- Any last comment? Answering this interview brought up some really fond memories of the band. It’s a shame we are not playing anymore, but who knows? We might do a reunion gig one of these days. I’m more than up for that! Thanx Martin!!!

One of the best Colombian bands was and will be Reencarnacion. A band that mixed art, poetry, message, dark muisc and more in an only way: Extreme death metal. Victor Raul not only is a musician if not also a warrior and for that created Reencar-nacion. Here we have a talked with him and we have kept in spanish to express better the ideas of Piolin: Explosión Cerebral - Como descubriste la musica metal, cual fue lo primero que escuchaste y cual lo primero que compusiste?
Víctor Raúl Jaramillo If you want to know more about him and his projects write to: jesdalaherton@yahoo.es
Explosión Cerebral - Estas componiendo material nuevo, mantienes la misma línea?
23
Hellbastard: It’s in South America, which is below North America. I think I already know more than an average Yankee. Seriously though, I know nothing much about Peru, only some blasting hordes like Mortem, Goat Semen or Sacramental. Oh yeah! And Levifer. Explosion Cerebral - How are your shows, with what bands have you played? Hellbastard: No shows, our line up was never too stabile for that. Also, it seems like pain in the ass, it’s better to stay in the city and drink some instead. Explosion Cerebral What's going on in your minds when you are playing live? Hellbastard: Karol Wojtyla. Explosion Cerebral - What are your thoughts on organized religion? Hellbastard: I have no thoughts about religions.
Explosion Cerebral - Hangover go quite a ways back in the history of polish metal. Please tell us a bit about the band's history. Hellbastard: Not so far away, we’ll be 10 years old next year, but the way we “work” on our song and releases makes us maybe 4 years old, haha! Anyway, band came to life in 1997 or something, but didn’t do anything but a few rehearsal tapes who fucking vanished - maybe it’s even better. In 2000 we recorded the infamous “Terrorbeer” tape, sold 500 of these somehow, then did a split CD with Swedish fun band GMC, theeeen lately we’ve put a brand new blaster onto “Thrash Metal Blitzkrieg” EP on Deathstrike/Iron Bonehead Records, and a few weeks ago “Under the shitfluence” MCD hit the streets. We’re preparing a new release for the autumn, but nothing to be announced yet. When it happens, it happens. Explosion Cerebral - Terrorbeer was your first demo, how was the acceptation of the media, how many re editions do you know of this demo, why a lot? Hellbastard: I don’t know, we didn’t send it to any media, we don’t give a fuck, and we still don’t. It was promoted by word of mouth. We first released it on CDR ourselves then Deathstrike Records (Ger) pressed 500 tapes, and that’s it. No further re-releases, enough already! Explosion Cerebral - You are an old thrash metal band, which are your main influences, which are the theme of your lyrics, is teh beer and sex also an influence? Hellbastard: We ain’t old, our music is. I don’t know about influences, our music is so simple and retarded that it probably makes it sounding like we’re inspired by every single thrash band out there. My personal faves are old Sodom (up to “Agent Orange”), Deströyer 666, Sarcofago, Possessed, blablabla…. Is anybody out there
24
interested in knowing what I listen to? Yeah? Then fuck off and die, bitch. Explosion Cerebral - What happenned with GMC, why did you sign with them? Hellbastard: GMC is a band, not a label, for chrissakes! Explosion Cerebral - Under The Shitfluence is your last release, is named for the chiken influenza, how si teh recording process, how manythemes have it? Chiken fucking what?! Recording process. Alright, you wanna know? I kept a studio diary for ya. I land in Sweden one sunny autumn day, I stay at Krigkniv’s apartment for a day or two, we drink beer, we blast the songs in the very same room we sleep in, I pack my bags and get the fuck out. “Under the shitfluence” contains 6 GG ALLIN cover songs and it KILLS! You better buy it, you fucking mongrels! Explosion Cerebral - How do you think metal is perceived in Poland, do you think metal crosses over at all with any other facets of subculture there, how does the scene in poland compare to any other scene that you have experienced? Hellbastard: Fuck Poland and fuck Polish metal. Explosion Cerebral - What all bands inspire you the most to play the style of that you do? Hellbastard: Already answered that. Sodom and Gehennah all the way! Explosion Cerebral - What is philosophy? Hellbastard: Play some and have fun.
hangover's
Explosion Cerebral - Does this philosophy apply to your personal lives? Hellbastard: I guess. Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru or Southamerica?
Explosion Cerebral - What do you prefer Vinyl or CD, do you think that the vinyl is only fashion in some kids? Hellbastard: Vinyl is cult and necessary, though CD are handy. Surely during the last years some labels tried to use “limited vinyl editions” as moneymakes, but what are you gonna do? I don’t think about scene problems anymore, it can die for all I care. Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? Hellbastard: Get wasted in a couple of minutes. Explosion Cerebral - Any last comment? Hellbastard: Drunken demons return!!! Get “Under the shitfluence” from Stuka Sound Records (Valhalla@metal.ee). Thanks for your support. Vote for Pedro. For more liquor write to: hangoverhorde@tlen.pl
The Drunken Masters are back with their classical Thrash metal and tons of Vodak and Jack Daniels they present us “Under the shitfluence” will try down the eras not allowed in this avalanche of music and puke!!!!!
Explosion Cerebral - Why did you decide to come back , do you think have you changed your style? Manu: We decided to come back in 2003, when Maurício (Krofader/Angel Butcher-Guitar) invited me for a jam. After drinking some beers, playing old songs and covering, the chemistry returned naturally. Maurício played guitar on AxBx for a year (1988) and has been playing for Krofader (friend’s band) since the 80´s, so I liked the idea and after 13 years the angels are back. our style is the same, a fusion of metal and hardcore, some people call it crossover, others calls metal core, for me both are ok. Most of our influences came from the 80´s, bands like Excel, DxRxIx, Cryptic Slaughter, Celtic Frost, Vulcano etc. But nowadays we have great bands too like Lamb Of God, Paura, Attero. I´m not a radical guy, hehehe…
Manu: The shows are doing great!!! We didn’t played so much, most part of the time I´m on tour with U-Ganga (my other band), I´m an architect and Maurício is a designer, so we need to organize our dates. After the return, Angel Butcher played with bands like the Punk/Hardcore legends Calibre 12 and Lobotomia, and local bands like Deadly Side, Manifest, Flanders, Crucify and Silent Hunter. Explosion Cerebral - What do yo know of Peru? Manu: Not too much, I know that Peru are the center of South America’s civilization, before the Inca Empire. The country has a great variety of landscapes and ecosistems and great artists like Jose Maria Arguedas, Mario Vargas Llosa, etc… Inna metal/hardcore scene I know bands like Kranium, Curriculum Mortis and Trauma. In the end of 2007, I’m going to travel around South America
Manu: Our philosophy is just one: respect, friendship, beer and do what you think it´s right. Listen to yourself and not the others. Explosion Cerebral - What is to you religion and church , do you think that is satanism the right answer to christianism? Manu: For me, religions appeared when the human race lost the purity. I don´t need a religion but in my way I find some masters and i respect them. I don´t have nothing in common with
Explosion Cerebral How was the recording and promotion of “The Angels Are Back”, Are you satisficed with it? Manu: We recorded the demo in Uberaba on Guzerá’s Studio with the producers Líbio “Trinquila” (Olorum) and Paulista (Olorum/Angel Butcher). It’s a simple production, just to show the new songs to friends but i really love this demo. It’s an independent work but we have a support of Incêndio Discos (U-Ganga’s label). We are gonna record a full album in the middle of 2007 to celebrate 22 years of the band with a better quality. Explosion Cerebral Have you planning to release your first demo , will you do a better sound? Manu: No, we always look forward, our old demos are special for this reason, they show what we are in these days and the new demo shows what we are now, after 13 years, other bands, influences, etc… But with the latest demo we recorded one of our first songs, “The Final Breath” and I liked the result. In the future we can do it again with other songs like “Might” or “Funneral Of Puppets”... Explosion Cerebral - Why disbanded the band , have you contact with the formers member throw all these time? Manu: We decided to finish the band in the end of 1990, after a lot of changes, confusions, disappointments, other projects, etc… I need motivation to keep doing something and during that period my motivation to keep AxBx alive disappeared. I have contacted Valdo “S.” (the first bass player, who formed the band with Manu in 1986), We live in the same city (Uberaba – state of Minas Gerais) and sometimes he appears for some beer sessions with me and Maurício. The other ex-members I see sometimes when I come to Araguari, we are all good friends.
with my girl and I hope visit Peru. hehehehehe…
Can
you
be
our
guide?
Explosion Cerebral - To you who is a banger since the 80´s why do you think is the main difference of the 80´s with the actual scene , why people back to the 80´s? Manu: I came from the 80´s scene, I’m a metalhead since 1982 but I can’t compare that decade with the actual days because to me, the road stay always ahead, every day I wanna learn something new, listening to a new sound etc… Musically the 80´s was my principal inspiration but as I said before, I’m not a radical guy and my influences came from diferent times and decades. on my cd player you can find a lot of different kinds of music. Explosion Cerebral - 9) Wich is your opinion about politic , do you support Lula , why? Manu: I don’t believe in politics man, I voted for Lula since the 80´s but now he lost one more elector… I had a great deception with him. He is not the worst president, for a country that has a dictatorship, just another liar. Explosion Cerebral - Like band , do you have any philosophy or only you want to express all that you feel in a moment?
satanism, if somebody wanna pray for the devil that´s ok, go ahead, I don´t give a fuck, but it’s not my choice. my choice is be a free man in this world of lies… Explosion Cerebral - Could be possible the anarchy in our actual world, why? Manu: Hummmmm, I don´t think so… I prefer the word revolution. we live in a world of chaos and for me the only way is a complete revolution (mental, spiritual, social…). If we keep in mind that way, I don´t see a good future for the human civilization. Our planet has been suffering by humans for centuries and even the mother nature have a limit of patience. We are killing ourselves. Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? Manu: Stay alive with health, record the new AxBx album and keep playing heavy music. Explosion Cerebral - Any last comment? Manu: Man…I wanna thank you for supporting AxBx all these years. It’s very good when i find an old friend (tape trader way heheheheheh). The tools are changing but the spirit is the same, peace fella!!! See Ya…
Explosion Cerebral - How are and were your shows , with what bands have you played?

ANHKREHG Against you All 10 Tracks – CD - 2004 There’s a lot of time that I don’t know about Canadian’s band, since the time of Infernal Majesty, Aggression, and Slaughter, they marked a great time, because I think that Anhkrehg go by the same way too, leaving marks in the metal scene. Their music is a mix of Black Metal, played with a special feeling, very different to others scenes and bands. At the same time they’re mixing Death Metal tunes in mainly of passages of their musical compositions. The musical parts also contain some aggressive tunes, faster parts, others are extreme with good breaks and excellent drum work. About their sound we can tell that is a predator machine, a chainsaw willing to cut your ears…Nothing to compare it. Excellent stuff. E-mail: anhkrehg@hotmail.com
BLOODOLINE Store & Brillant 13 Tracks – CD - 2005 Spain we revert to bombard with more bands of blackmetal, all of this are big work or darkness and pure satanic good touched and extremely aggressive Bloodoline its not the exception, the work musicales full of parts of Bathory/Cryfenal a few guitars with ripper riffs, crude’s where the violence make destructions in your mind and annihilate your neuron, a Black Metal inspirited for evil demon, but there is something that I don’t assimilate is the vocals parts, there are Hardcore!!!!!!!!!!! As well as listening, more inspirited for Post Mortem/Terver Kaadlt that make of Bloodline a unique band in our kina must be calling BLACKCORE all of stages are good executed, with cold riffs, shorts and a good cleany. It’s a good CD of an interesting material. P.O. BOX 18188 28080 – Madrid/Spain Site: http://bloodoline.com/
BENIGHTED Avgrundshjarta 4 Tracks – CD-R - 2005 In their last work HELJARFOR, they showed a great performance and great capability for their way and feel to play Black Metal music. Now, this demonstration go to the point of leave me completely satisfied and ecstasies, I really I tay wondered with this new stuff. Each track has the exactly dose of speed, where the cool riffs and raw have all freedom, walking at the dark ways and hard melodies. For someone’s maybe this can’t be too much effort for a new band, but in the way, I ‘m looking for some bands when I hear it I stay completely satisfied and excited and this work has got turn me on. The perfect track selection, the good accomplishment of the musicians with exactly track times, it’s a pleasure. When I hear Avgrundshjarta, it takes me to the high cult of Black Metal masters like: Bathory, really I consider Benighted like a new Bathory sons also I can add his worship to Obscurity and Burzum way it’s a best work of the

DARK TRINITY Dark Trinity 05 Tracks – Year 2003 Here comes another Brazilian black metal band with a good proposal, attractive and appropriate to the black metal music around. When anyone mentioned a black metal band, always are thinking only brutal and fast stuff. But they’re wrong, coz’ Dark Trinity, really it’s sounded very dark, efficient mid tempo rhythms with a lot of bloody melodies, sometimes we can listen up IMMORTAL riffs, very intense that made of this masterpiece an enjoyable stuff. The disappointed here, it is not official album it’s only a promotional cd-r. In fact it’s very short and we want to eat more Dark Trinity’s music but it’s not possible...could be consider like decent black metal
stuff... if you need more info only write to prskron@hotmail.com DICTADOR Promo 2006 Well, first of all this is a promo CD and the sound is not the better that I would want. Dictator raise from Malaysia and to our mind come great bands from that part of the World. Dictator plays a deathrash in the old vein; it could sound a bit like Bathory, Suffer, Carbonizad and thrash metal bands like DRI, SOD or Exodus. They have a great drums work and the voice raping your ears with force. The guitars have an improvement in each song with variants in the themes. They play a Cover of Unleashed “In Hellfire” that is not the exact sound but give a extra force to the track. I will wish for an official release because I know that will be a must.
DOMINUS PRAELLI Bastards and Killers 08 Tracks – CD - 2006 The true metal is back!!! They sounded like 80’s true Heavy metal bands. YEZZZ!!! The music it’s sounded great, quite ok… very development, extremely stronger, very influenced by old glories like Manowar, Judas Priest, Saxon and some traditional NWOBHM bands. The band is very solid and aggressive, the riffs are powerful sometimes are sounded a la Judas even Manowar but it’s excellent. Classic metal without modern tunes. It’s great which bands like Dominus Praelii still keepin’ the faith in true heavy metal. They’re one of most important heavy metal bands in Brazil. If you’re a fan of any band above mentioned, this is essential for you!! Get it now!!! Highly recommended! truemetalbanger@hotmail.com
EVIL EMPIRE Black Order of Fire 05 Tracks – CD-R - 2004 New Brazilian band and can’t be away from the Black metal vein. They came from Natal, a city with only a few bands known, but all are so good, and Evil Empire is one of them. They’re a good
black metal band, where the fast rhythms are mixed with mid. Tempo parts and sometimes are sounded very heavy, without doubt they’re know how they want to sound like a typical Nordic band but if you hear with attention you will find a typical Brazilian band. The quality of the sound is good, even when is only a Cd-r recorded, It look like a really CD and the musical skills mix well with his sound, also You can find out some Dark Throne influences, but I can notice that they’re sounded like Marduk and Amen Corner too. The CD contains 5 tracks of hateful against to Christianity!!!!!!!! gravadoradoinferno@yahoo.com.br
GODDES OF DESIRE Awaken Pagan Gods 12 Tracks – CD - 2005 I’m really surprised for this great fucking band of real heavy/ power/ thrash metal very influenced by old school, even to be consolidate in EUROPE, so little come for this side of the world their stuff. GODDES OF DESIRE is a great demonstration of metal feeling and how they’re feel the real heavy metal in his veins. Their have a characteristic dominion of theatrical scene, that make it more attractive in their work, they’re show it when they’re playing alive. Another thing, their musical structures combine perfectly heavy/speed mid tempo even fast times. Their rhythm changes thrash to heavy metal are so perfectly that do it very easy to hear it… they have a great knowledge deeply about these strange ways of metal…there have tracks so different like DEAD & STREET with old sound from TANKARD then they goes to BLOODSTAINED SIGHT that have a great BLACK SABBATH riffing even CELTIC FROST too, very heavy and grim… Or AWAKEN PAGAN GODS, that is a speed/thrash track that combine some METALLICA riffs/powerful vocals a la DEVASTATION, as you can read if you has the opportunity to buy this stuff, you can find a real trip to the true metal ways… Excellent Rijdersstraat 1 1735 GA 't Veld The Netherlands
HOLY MOSES Strenght, Power, Will, Possession 12 Tracks – CD - 2005 Once upon a time I said ever 80’s, that I don’t hear to Holy Moses and their vocalist and leader Sabina Classen, I’m a totally agree to verify that
the years has done more mature to this thrash metal band, their sound, their support to adapt to the news kind of metal nowadays, has done of this band a newest German thrash gods!!! I said that by the force of the riffs, solid bases in perfect combination with thrash tunes and vocals that make of this band a solid group. Very connected as band, but then I guess that vocalist work deserve all our recognition. Sabina nowadays, their vocals parts are more strong that 15 years ago and this is funny the conjunction of all of this, did it more appreciate this excellent work for me, coz’ they’re showing that Holy Moses during all of this years have spilled transpiration and tears to be that its and will be as band. One of the biggest from Germany and of the world. Great stuff. It’s only for old thrashers E-mail: info@holymoses.de
KULT OV AZAZEL The World, the Flesh and the Devil 09 Tracks – CD - 2005 They are known for their satanic matter and because their music is different to all ancient USA bands. The new attack are too dark and savagery, this is the case of bands like Krieg, Judas Iscariot or Averse Sefira, all of them are going for the same way of Kult OV Azazel, the tribute to the Black Emperor. They have a good intro’s, sometimes are bored but in general it’s quite ok. Let’s start with The World, the Flesh and the Devil; it’s an album designed for headbangers, fast with insane harmonies, with excellent rhythm changes, nothing extreme but with a few musical variety, the vocals parts are good. Seem like a Marduk but they seem like that they just want to play with their own hands. Also they play and feel in their own way the black metal music, very similar than Dark Funeral band too. I don’t see originality but it’s a great work in a tracks conception. I was reading some reviews before and know that more of you will not be satisfied with any words, but for me is a great black metal album. Site: www.kultovazazel.com
LORD VAMPYR The Vampirica Philosophia 09 Tracks – CD - 2005 From the land of the Roman Empire, one of the most insane and the most beautiful girls (maybe can be the best of the world) comes LORD VAMPYR, the same guys to THEATRES DES VAMPIRES, also it includes the same characteristics a style of the blood’s lovers and sleep on coffins. Their characteristic is only dark music, no gothic, no
atmospheres, only a kind of black/heavy metal in the same composes way of MERCYFUL FATE, talking about the tracks structures, rhythm changes that only insane minds can do, with great professionalism. The only one difference are the vocals parts, they have more distortion even are sounded more strong than MERCYFUL FATE. I think that you will find the same things when you hear it. Therefore I think that it’s masterpiece that kept an excellent loyalty to heavy metal music even when they live like gothic guys….very good work. LEGIONS DESCEND Flex Vienna 03 Tracks – CD-R - 2004 This band is unknown to many people, and also I thought that were other death metal band, But when I listened the demo I was surprised, They give Us a perfect death metal Rhythms, too heavies, fast and furious also include loud rhythm, sometimes are sounded complex and aggressive, a lot turn it to black metal too. Legions Descend is of these bands that you can love’em or hate ‘em, but definitely their music is to love it!!! I remind the first works of Morbid Angel and Sadistic Intent, a masterpiece of dark/black metal, they kill your neurons!!! Great stuff!!! Site: www.legions-descend.com
MELANCHOLIC ART Força Black Metal Pampeano 10 Tracks – CD - 2006 This band by the name that they use you can be confused thinking’ that they’re playing some kinds of Dark or Gothic stuff, but you’re wrong, if you think on this way. Melancholic Art offer us only furious Black metal, very inspired by heart breakings, cries of pain of whom felt into the hell!!! And they have an excellent proposal where the guitar riffs have perfect work, very solid with good musical structure, put out good emphasis in the perfect play of the tracks. I guess that all integrants are prolific and drive so perfectly their instruments too and this made that the band will be great. I think that Brazil land has in Melancholic Art another great band that all metal bangers will know like one of the best bands of this side of the world. Força Black Metal Pampeano it’s a black metal CD played with

really darkness, strong and honestly against the decrepit Christian regime. Good work! E-mail: evilimperium@hotmail.com
Nerbilous Production 3 Way Split NECROVOMITOR BLEAK FOREST ANSUR Excellent show of passion for the Black metal music. A good work that give Us this 3 way split CD-r with bands very different tendencies between darkness. The first band comes from Finland an as can’t be they plays only Black Metal, raw and pure. It’s influenced by the Norse Gods called Dark Throne with this old sound… Necrovomitor show us their devotion for this genre and deep love to the Evil master. The rhythm changes goes from extreme heaviness and loud that reminds me to old bands like: Goatlord and Dark Throne, the fast parts are complety darkness, excellent. The next band comes from the earth of Corpse Molestation and Slaughter Lord called Australia. The band is Bleak Forest; is an aggressive band very influenced by cruelty bands like Trollech and Angel Corpse, diversifying their music between violent rhythms, crude and typical simply of Hardcore Finnish bands. The band is darkness to highest but be lacking soundness, but is for the simples of their rhythms, even so is a good band, crude and wild, with breaks and rhythms up to down… Good!!!! Ansur is the last surrender of this saga. The band is played to mid paced, very simple in their riffs and tracks conception and they‘re following the steps for the best Nordic way, country of they come from. Their music is more crude, heavy and darkness but even so it’s more look come of the underground metal. Also you can find out strong influence by Watain and Koldbrann. It’s a good work.
NOSFERATU Returning to the Slaughter 06 Tracks – CD - 2004 HEY!!! All true 80’s headbanger’s check it this band. The old feeling has appear on the Brazilian scene again, first one Dominus Praelii strike with their Bastard and Killers CD, after I listen Denin and Leather band and now, comes Nosferatu with these 80’s touches and several time and many old tunes that you’ll come back to 80’s years again. Well, Musically this guys offer Us only old heavy school, here you can find excellent tunes based on old Iron Maiden/ Angel

Witch, Old Brats or early Merciful Fate, with ample bases and good rhythm changes; basically the guitar sound it does help a lot, because they have put the same sound that above mentioned bands, Anyway, I believe that if you feel nostalgia about these old years, you must be get it and will stop your suffering. E-mail: nosferatublood@ bol.com.br Site: www.nosferatu.hpg.com.br PRETALIATION Demo 2006 03 Tracks – Year 2006 The first time I heard the demo entirely was without stopping it. But then I listened one more time to each song one more time and I must say that Chemical Deity directly represents the feeling of this amazing band. A voice in a vein of Onslaught, Mentors, full of hate and the guitars sounding in the same vein are great. Chemical Deity is not the only good song (well the demo has two more songs, Another Wasted Life and Living Hypocrisy). It's thrash with hints of death and speed metal parts. You will need more songs after this demo, so try to get the old one too. If you like violence, raw music, and a dose of thrash get this one!! Up to the dose!!!!! E-mail: pretaliation@gmail.com
SOLACE OF REQUIEM Idem 10 Tracks – Year 2004 Some time ago that I don’t hear USA bands that have this potential, they makes a high death metal quality getting’s some morbid melodies and intense riffs with high brutality doze mix with a great technic… The band know so perfectly the Death Metal mean and I think that they have borned to the death metal music. Without doubt this guys will be the new death metal wave, because their riffs are inspired by the godly band
Xecutioner (more known like Obituary), mixing some potential parts a la Morbid Angel and Excidium, Great! The guitar solo’s goes in perfect harmony with rhythm parts, excellent. It’s a death metal with class!!! Get it now Site: www.solreq.com Tworzenia, resurrezione, démence 3 Way Split HELLSPAWN HATEFUL IMPUREZA 15 Tracks – CD – 2006
SHEDIM The Great Black Goat 5 TRACKS – Year 2004 From the same label of Evil Empire, Now comes Shedim with a different style but not away from the darkness and the extreme devotion to black metal parts. I say different ways because they’re looking for more technical black metal it’s include some keyboards arrangements, giving more harmonies than brutality, by other way, here you can find some Brazilian death touches, but always with this technical rhythms, well played and it’s have some extreme fury that fill your veins with blood and as hot fire that made you burn!!! In this work, the musical discipline is joined to the technical, where the musicians have great accomplishment as band. Playing good metallic breaks, it’s not a great band but they make a good music, looking to black/death metal. I must to say that keyboards parts aren’t sounded like a gothic band. But the disappointed here comes to the bad recording of the CD, the guitars must sound with more power, maybe you can hear that the rhythms and vocal parts are sounded like a Satyr icon, at time some guitar riffs too but always mix with death touches. Good work! gravadoradoinferno@yahoo.com.br
One new compilation CD again!!! In this chance We have 3 death metal bands in only one CD and fortunately the 3 bands forward, are playing decent death metal. The first one called Hellspawn are showing an amazing death metal, very developed with some raw touches, very powerful and solid arrangements, Also I can add which they’re influenced by Morbid Angel and Hate Eternal, After comes Hateful band, it’s so usual as all death metal bands, typical but decent, their music is something that you usually expect, Also I must to be recognize that still they’re good musicians and their music, surely would be better. Finally Impureza band have playing, just this band comes from France but they ‘re singin on Spanish language (it’s a quite strange), and I’ve thought which they’re the best band of the present compilation, his music it’s speed, raw, powerful with excellent rhythm changes and violent breaks, Also I notice which they have influences from death metal to black. I’m wonder with this stuff Site: www.nihilistic.ca.te

After their first demo in 1994 Aurora Borealis has gain a great name in the underground for their Witness and aggressive music, like the creation of letters in which you can travel throw the lights of the North. We chat with R29 on to know more about the band and their activities:
Explosion Cerebral - Could you tell the readers who the members are, what they do, and how you all met and formed the band? Wiz: Chakal is: Vlad korg vox, Wiz drums, Mark guitar, Andrevil guitar, Giuliano Toniolo Bass guitar. The band was formed in 85 by myself (Wiz), Mark.Vlad joined us later. We´re part of the original phase, back to the first record. Andrevil was also responsable for helping to bring the band back with the album Dead land in 2002.Giuliano was invited to join us during the tour of that same album.
idea of returning with the band sounded good, although originally, that was not our intention.
Explosion Cerebral - Why Chakal come back, to you which is the best time of Chakal the begin or this time, why? Wiz: Because Andrevil, Vlad and myself had been playing together for some time and were recording a album, the
Explosion Cerebral - Demon King is your last opus, how was the recording process, who made the lyrics and music, how is the distribution and promotion, do you think that you have changed your sound from your fist Lp? Wiz: Vlad always writes the lyrics. The songs were composed by everyone else. The album was recorded in two different periods with a six-monthgap between them, when we composed the second part of it Our promotion and distribution is carried on by our label COGUMELO RECORDS, that works mainly in Brazil. Nowadays it´s much easier and cooler for us to record without all the time pressions we had on in the past. And after twenty years, I guess we have improved ourselves as musicians.

Explosion Cerebral - How was the answer of the band to know the repercussion of the Abominable Anno Domini, who created it, do you expect that repercussion? Wiz: When we first recorded THE ABOMINABLE, we meant nothing but recording a metal record. The repercussion it created later on, was a fine surprise for us. It´s good to know that after 19 years, it´s still mentioned as a good metal album.
Explosion Cerebral - What is a typical Chakal live performance like. how many shows have you done, with what bands have you played? Wiz: It´s kinda hard for us to define our live performances, but it´s truely a headbanging one. People sometimes compare it to a visit to a Mad house. I don´t think we are able to remember all the gigs or bands we’ve played with, but we can remember some bands such as Sarcofago, Sepultura, Witchhammer, Sex Trash, etc, all local bands among other foreign bands such as Kreator, Nuclear Assault, Destruction, Sodom, Vader, Marduk, etc. Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru? Wiz: We don’t know your metal scene, or if there are many metal bands or what. We sure know some of your most famous areas such as Machupichu (there’s a legend here that says if you enter one of our caves in Minas Gerais, our state, you will end up in Machupichu! Can you believe that?!) My father lived in Lima for nine years, due to the heavy political repression in the 60´s/70´s in Brazil. His favorite foot-all team was Cubillas´s Alianza. Explosion Cerebral - Being you one of the former members, which is the experience in to play in one of the biggest bands of Brasil, what do you search with the band?
Wiz: It´s really cool to play in this band with such mother-fucking-crazy-funny dudes. Also, we get to know a lot of new fans, sometimes our old friend’s kids. Now I wish we had the chance to get to travel more with the band, touring abroad, and enjoy playing for different audiences, maybe even for you guys there in Peru. Explosion Cerebral - What would be your idea of perfect happiness? Wiz: I guess, being able to live out my music would be great, but actually I don´t believe there´s such a thing as perfect happiness. Explosion Cerebral - Why are you using now zombies make-up, are you fans of George Romero, do you like horror movies? Wiz: The make ups have to do with the content of the lyrics on that record, which were written based on those Romero´s horror movies that we all like. Romero´s influence has been present from the very beginning, with the song Dead Walk. Besides that, there´s also the song Jason Lives, which was based on the famous Friday 13th. As you can see, we do like horror movies. Explosion Cerebral - Is there any person (living or dead) that you greatly admire and have an infinite amount of respect for? Wiz: There are many people I admire in many different ways such as some rock musicians whose influence brought me into playing music. As for the bands I could name Dio, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Judas Priest, etc. Among the dead, there are two dudes whose musical contribution I miss: Cozy Powell (drums) and Randy Rhoades (guitars). Explosion Cerebral - Do you have family now, how do you do you to spend your time with the band and family? Wiz: We get to manage our families, our occupations and the band pretty well, once our tours are not long or even very frequent Explosion Cerebral - Are you think to do a tour for all South America? Wiz: We are waiting for anybody to invite us to go. As I said before, that would be fucking A to go abroad with the band, either to South America or somewhere else. Explosion Cerebral - After all your time with Cogumelo, will you change of label anytime, why? Wiz: We have no intention to leave our label, unless another one offers us better working conditions. Explosion Cerebral - Any future plans? Wiz: Well, our first record Abomi-nable has just been re-released in a new Delux edition (Digipack as we say here). We also, intend to rerelease the album The Man is his own Jakal in the same format as Abominable´s new edition. We will start the composing process for our following record this year, but we got no idea of what it´s gonna be called or when it´s gonna be released. All I know, it´s gonna be metal, of course. Explosion Cerebral - Any last comment? Wiz: We hope we will be able to play there in Peru, and maybe get the chance to meet personally. KEEP UP WITH METAL.HORNS UP!! www.myspace.com/chakalbr

Lori Bravo: I first heard Hendrix when I was around 8 which introduced me to wanting to play guitar...he is still WAY MORE EXTREME than any death metal outfit!!! In high school I began collecting imports of the likes of Discharge, Iron Maiden and shit like that and then I ran across Flipper and Black Flag and The Plasmatics from a friend of mine and I just KNEW that was where my head was at!!! Explosion Cerebral - Which were your sources to cerate your music and lyrics, what were your main inspiration? Lori: Classical music as in, Bach, Rachmaninov, Chopin and Pagannini as well as soundtracks like:Alien, The Thing, Creepshow and The Shining.... Lyrically, it was mostly Phil and I being a couple and reading horror and whatnot and just writing these dreadful little stories....Also I had been quite taken with the works of The Marquis De Sade which also heavily influenced us both!!
Explosion Cerebral - In that time, did you have any problem to be a female frontier, which was your major problem taht yo have had? Lori: I fucking still have problems man!!! Women in this industry are still treated as novelties and although I have payed my share of dues and have been an active artist for over 20 years...not much had changed in the way we are seen and represented in this field!!! I have punched out a soundguy for being a sexist cunt and went to jail for it, I have refused to play by 'their' rules and I have paid dearly for it..BUT! can still say that nothing comes close or tastes more delicious than being a lady rocker!!!
Explosion Cerebral - Wake when I'm dead, how was teh creation of this demo, how was teh answer of the media? Lori: Our drummer, Joel payed for that tape and we went in a home-studio and recorded it...um...mostly EVERYBODY hated it!!!
Explosion Cerebral - What doyou remeber of your shows, how was to play in Puerto rico, with what bands have you played? Lori: Puerto Rico was great!!! Rained the entire time and the kids really got into it!!! Our shows always seemed very raw and extreme and I will say looking back at video...I am right!!! Carcass, Morbid Angel,Impetego,Just about everybody!!!!
Explosion Cerebral - What do you think about Richard C and Wild Rags, do you think taht was a good selection of label, why? Lori: No!!! He was a fucking fraud!!! But!!! Signing with that asshole at 19 years old really taught me what NOT to do as my career matured!!!
Explosion Cerebral - Do you think that Carrion For Worm was your best work, how was to work with Chris Reifert? Lori: No I actually think that The Planet Cachexial and All Creatures Great and Eaten are far superior!!! Cachexial especially really is classical
music for the dead...Chris is a great friend and totally balls-fun to work with in the studio!!!! I have not heard from him in a time as he is now married and I am sure his bride and he are doing great!!! It was great singing together...it had to happen and so it did!!! Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru or Southamerica? Lori: I know I would love to play out there and I know it is beautiful country!!! Carcass, Morbid Angel, Impetego. began of your new band raped, how do you consider that style of Nuclear Death, and now you are playing in raped, your won project, I think taht is more punk with electronic tocuhes, why this change, do you think tahts ia natural? Lori: Like I said...it was a sad time and a farewell from me as I was... Now I am who I am now... I grow as an artist so does my music. Explosion Cerebral - Also you are involved in otehr kind sof art, do you have time to aprivate life, how is your private life, to yo your bands, art are the same that your private life? Lori: I live my art...I am a single woman on a mission to expell my demons through my Arte'!!! My private life is public....listen to my record! It's all there!!! Explosion Cerebral - What do you think about family, mother, do you think that the woman are only for that or is a crap of stupid machism (well personally I think taht the women are not only to have children are more creative that men)? Lori: I think we should be able to do whatever the fuck we want as long as we are true to ourselves as people!!! I fucking hate testosterone-macho asshole men, but I also see sexism in reverse here in America as well with the girls gold-digging and lying about pregnancies to get money too!!!! People just seriously suck-ass alot...but for every 1000ass
suckers...there is always 1 interesting and vibrant person who makes life worth living another day.... Explosion Cerebral - Do you have any interest in politic, what do yo think about religion, do you believe in the end of the world? Lori: I am pleased that our country is so full of political bullshit because it makes for great art....gives us something to oppose and challenge. I love catholicism because it is so fucking spooky and probably the most 'satanic' thing in the world....the rituals...the iconography... DAMN! Being Mexican but not raised catholic, I have become obsessed with the art and literatures surrounding it...not to mention the pornograhic angles!!! Of Course I believe the planet will die at some point...I will never see it though I figure. Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? Lori: Get signed to a label so I can get out and tour properly!!!! Explosion Cerebral - Anylast comment? Lori: Thanx again for your patience and fucking Long Live all that is Evil! So sayeth the bride of insect! Buy my new album, 'I'd marry the devil' today! Check me out at: www.myspace.com/loribravoraped
Explosion Cerebral - Why split up Nuclear Death, what about Steve Cowan, Phil Hampson or Joel Whitfield, do yo know about them? Lori: After Steve and I broke up as a couple, I felt that ND was at its peak and we recorded, “Harmony Drinks of Me to further this ending partnership but on an artistic note. I was ready to become more personal in my music and it was time for me to extract myself from the limitations of 'Death Metal' 'Horror-core' etc. My new record is truly what I am and actually the title track still has my ND-feel all over it like a slathering whore!!! I know not of anybody's current status. They all pretty much ended being musicians that matter with me... Explosion Cerebral - Have you think anytime to reform the band? Lori: No. If I did. I would find real musicians that could seriously play my shit!!! ND really is all me anyway!!! Explosion Cerebral - Are you thinking to rerelease your Nuclear Death demos or Lps, have you seen the DVD Nuclear bestiality are you a gree with it? Lori: Yes...eventually. But all my time is being spent on my current music. No I have not seen any dvd but it is a bootleg because I am the only one you can get real ND shit from and I have never authorized a DVD! Explosion Cerebral - Harmony Drinks of Me is your last release like Nuclear Death, but you had a differebt style do you think taht was the

Explosion Cerebral - Can you briefly introduce Aeturnus Dominion to our metalheads? Demented: Yeah, no problem. Aeturnus Dominion is a five piece bastard metal band from Australia, formed in early 2003. Explosion Cerebral - What pushed you to create this band and to play this kind of music, which are your main sources of creation, which is the deal of your lyrics, does this part have a big importance or do you write some basic sentences? Demented: I had previously played a similar style of music in past bands when I was primarily a drummer and not a guitarist. The last band I was in was called Eternal Hate, which had Thrax on guitar. But, it folded once I decided to concentrate on playing guitar, so I ended up in a hard rock band called PAEN for almost 10 years with some of the current members of AD, until an accident at work in 2002 saw the end of that. I had fingers severed/shaved off on my right hand and at first I thought I may never play music again. But after several months of rehabilitation and determination I managed to adjust to my situation and do the best I could. Although I will never be able to play like before it was a start. I wrote a couple of songs as therapy and then recorded demos of them. I had originally thought of just doing a solo effort called 'Disciple Of Death', but the reaction to the songs from friends helped me decided that a band situation would be a better option. A few phone calls later to previous PAEN band members and we were underway. Explosion Cerebral - How do you found the name Aeturnus Dominion, why did you change the previous names, do you think that the actual one is correct to your music? Demented: Our original name was Krankshaft, but some net searching located another band of the same name overseas, so a new name was sought. The song Aeturnus Dominion I had written back in my Eternal Hate days and I thought it would be a great band name considering we do play some revamped EH material. The rest of the band agreed, so I designed our logos and the name set. Explosion Cerebral - Terrorize, do you think that is your best release, will you think to release with a better work in each song, which was the answer of the media? Demented: Hahaha, nah, Terrorize was the demo I recorded as a solo project. The only difference is I had Jester come and lay down his lead vocals replacing mine. This was then released as Terrorize. Most of the songs on Terrorize have found their way onto subsequent CD releases now anyway. Unsanitized, Global Cremation Suicide & Meathook were re-recorded for the Semper Tyranis CD and Traumatic Amputation was rerecorded for the Psychotic CD. Our best recording will be the new one we are working on now, which will be called Annihilation Process! Explosion Cerebral - What happenned in the accident, was more difficult to a musician lost his fingers, how was your recuperation? Demented: Yeah as I said above, I was unsure if I would play guitar again. I had no idea how bad the damage was, only I had lost fingers, which could not be re-attached due to being shaved of my hand. The hardest thing is coming to grips with the reality you are permanently disfigured and this will have an
34
effect on the rest of your life. So many things we take for granted can be lost in a split second. I sunk into a state of suicidal depression and took months of rehabilitation and certain treatment to try to overcome it. Explosion Cerebral - Are you involved in other projects, how do you do to create in other bands if you still play? Demented: Yeah, I do have a few songs online called ‘Necrotic Death’, which is black metal solo project thing. Nothing serious though, just for fun. Explosion Cerebral - Have you some kind of problem with christianism, your opinion about religion in general, are you involved in a kind of religious Satanism? Demented: I'm non religious and dislike all religion. If others choose to believe in it, then that is their perogative. I believe religion and politics will always have something in common, and that is war! Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru or South America? Demented: I really don’t know that much about South America to tell the truth other than what I have read or learnt over the years. I do know the people of Peru speak primarily Spanish and follow the Roman Catholic Church, but other than that you will have to excuse me for my ignorance. Explosion Cerebral - How are your shows, have you played out of Australia, with what bands have you played?
Demented: Unfortunately we are yet to play outside Australia, but, we are hoping to rectify this once funding allows. We had an opportunity to play in Singapore recently but just couldn't rake the cash together to get there and back. We have also had an offer to head over to Hawaii next year so we’ll see how that goes. As to international supports, we recently played gigs with Disgorge(US) and Profanation(Germany) and look set to tour with 8mm Overdose when they hit our shores in 2007. Explosion Cerebral - What do you think about Psychotic, are you working with any label, how is the distribution, do you try to cover all the world? Demented: I am not 100% happy with the Psychotic cd. It was recorded while under going line up changes and the hardware it was being recorded on kept overheating and shutting down. But they are excuses and pointless I guess. Anyone else who heard it said release it so, that is what we did. It was sent off to our label Grindhead Records who have also re-released our debut Semper Tyranis earlier this year. Psychotic will be released in late September. Explosion Cerebral - Do you have any interest in politic, what do you think about the terrorism? Demented: No, I don't have much time to for politics. I hold it in pretty much the same regard as I do religion. Terrorism is politics and religion rolled into one small package usually delivered in person. Will killing innocent people make others believe in the cause you are dying for? Somehow I doubt it
Explosion Cerebral - Why do you think the Aussie scene is too big and extreme, what other bands do you think need attention? Demented: The Aussie scene is no where near 'big and extreme'. Many promising bands will fold due to lack of support here in Aussie. When you have clashing gig dates in an almost non existant scene then both gigs will suffer with poor attendance. There are many good Aussie bands and some you may already know. Lord (previously Dungeon), Mortal Sin (making a come back), Head Hammer, Beyond Terror Beyond Grace, Ebolie and Dissension are just a few worthy of a mention. Explosion Cerebral - Any future plans? Demented: At the moment we'll concentrate on recording our third CD and then look at trying to get funds together for a trip over to New Zealand and then hopefully Hawaii. We have also been lucky enough to have our cover of Pantera’s Mouth For War included on the new ‘The Art OF Shredding – A tribute to Dime’ CD which if all goes well could open a few doors for us. Anyone interested in finding out more info on the CD can go to http://www.myspace.com/theartofshreddingtribut ealbum or to order one of our CDs go to http://grindheadrecords.com or to visit our website go to http://aeturnusdominion.com. Oh and sign the guestbook too while you are there! Explosion Cerebral - Any last comment? Demented: Yeah mate, thanks for interview and all the best! E-mail: info@aeturnusdominion.com

Explosion Cerebral - Can you introduce denied redemption to the readers, what did drive you to create it? Prophanum: Hail! Denied Redemption was born in 2005, inspired in greatest hordes of 80's and 90's, with one mission: promote the OLD black metal ways. Necrogoat: Hail Martin… Denied Redemption born in the obscure nights of 2005 (e.v.), when my old band Black Abomination split up. I invite my brother Prophanum (Ex-Mantus) and some brothers to create this horde with the goal of play an Unholy Traditional Black Metal, with influences of the 90`s style. So we meet with the warriors and begins the rehersal. The actual lineup is: Necrogoat (Screams), Prophanum (B), Maros (G), Zalmonix Cervicapri (Key) and Lord Lupercus (D). Until now we have five compositions that will be present in the first demo called “Index Infame”. Denied redemption was created for spread his true and traditional

form of Unholy Black Metal to express the dark feelings of his members. Explosion Cerebral - How did you get inspired to do your stuff, which are your main influences to your music and lyrics? Prophanum: Our songs are made with many influences, mainly from hordes like Nargaroth, Burzum , OLD Dimmu Borgir, Varathron, Samael etc... Our lyrics are basically inspirated in Satanic/ Mythologic themes. These are the best way to explain our feelings. Necrogoat: I have getting inspirations through the music and literature, two of my true passions! The music I get influences of the Black Metal made in the 80`s and the 90`s decades. The lyrics are the usual used in the Black Metal tradition, but I also add some Hermetic and Mythological aspects in this. Explosion Cerebral - How is the recording process of making an denied Redemption track, what is more important to you your music or lyrics? Prophanum: The most important thing is feeling. Our music are made with intention of remember the basic instincts of man. Without political, religious or humanity concepts, only living in the old world. Necrogoat: The recording process is well natural, with each member making his part in the process. For me both the music how the lyrics are important in the same grade. Lyrics and music is how an alchemical weeding into the Black Metal concept. This is my view. Explosion Cerebral - Have you any official release, can you talk us about it, if youdont have are you preparing to record it soon?
Prophanum: Our First demo will be release in July of 2006. Called "Index Infame", the artefact will have some greatest hymns. Necrogoat: We are preparing to release the first demo “Index Infame” with five hymns of Unholy Black Metal till the July of 2006 E.V., but you can listen two hymns of the horde at www.deniedredemption.palcomp3.com.br , is two tracks taken. Necrogoat: Yeah…DF Metal Web zine was created by Prophanum (Danilo), bass player from Denied Redemption, and this exist since the midlle of 2005 and is dedicated for the Unholy and Blasphemic forms of Metal… I make some interviews and reviews there…The web have an good visitation in all world…and soon we will make an english version of the same. Do you can see it on www.dfmetal. com.br and there also listen an radio with great brazilian hordes.
Prophanum: I Think with myself and I can't understand WHY some "bands" do that shit. Money can Corrupts Everything ! This fucking capitalist world really sucks. How much YOUR ideology costs ???!!!???
Explosion Cerebral - Have you played in live, are in yourplans to do it soon? Prophanum: Not yet... But we are doing some external contacts to play soon because the hordes don't have some support in our State. Necrogoat: We until now don’t play alive… but we want the most soon possible play for the true maniacs. This will have blood… spikes… touches and pure atmosphere of evil!!!!!!!!!!
Why do you use corpse paint, do you think that is correct to teh band sound? Prophanum: Black Metal is War. War against all this fucking religious world. Like Evil Warriors, we use our weapons, masks, HATE and music artillery to fight against it! Necrogoat: We use corpse paint for keep the true black metal tradition in all aspects of the horde…Our music is the reflex of all obscurity and evilness, and the corpsepaint is very accourding with our sound… Explosion Cerebral - Which is your opinion about the change of sound or "evolution" of some bands, do you think that is that ok or do you think that they do to sell more?
Explosion Cerebral - What does society mean for you? Prophanum: Society? Over 6 billions of idiots praying for gain more money to spends with any kind of shit. It's a ridiculous world, lamentable. Necrogoat: The society organization is an refuge created by the man to deny and escape from your animal bestial instinct… The society conception is an false creation. We will be the contrary of the social liar concept!! Explosion Cerebral - Will you kill to anyone, why? Prophanum: No. Brazilian Jails isn't a good place to live, Believe me. Necrogoat: No. I never cogitate this…but with an great reason I of course don`t will heist!!! Explosion Cerebral - Are you planning to send your stuff to any label, are you n conversations with anyone? Prophanum: Not yet... but we will share our artefacts soon. If someone wants to publish our art, make contact. Necrogoat: We yet don’t enter in contact with labels, but the “Index Infame” demo of course will be send to a lot of labels and zines.
Explosion Cerebral - What do you know of Peru? Prophanum: A little. some bands like Impalement, Goat Semen and your zine. Necrogoat: From Peru I know very few…Mortem, Goat Semen, Levifer Anal Vomit and your fucking zine… But I want know much bandas, zines and labels from your country…Write me maniacs! Explosion Cerebral - Tiago you also runs Abstract Funeral zine, is different to the creation of DFMetal, how many times have it, what bands appear? Prophanum: The Abstract Funeral Zine exists since 1994. Some greatest hordes already had been interviewed. Famous hordes like Murder Rape, Miasthenia, Camos, Melencolian, Spell Forest and more others. DFMetal WebZine And Abstract Funeral haves a content partnership. We promote Both versions ( Online and Print) versions of interviews, reviews, articles... We just want to promote the Evil Music through the world !! Necrogoat: Yeah! I create Abstract Funeral in the Obscure year of 1994 EV, until now I have 11 issues released. Great hordes how Miasthenia, Profane Creation, Lullaby, Asaradel, Crucificator, Necrolust, Posthu-mous, Angel Corpse, Abazagorath, Mythological Cold Towers, Mausoleum, Spell Forest, Murder Rape, Camos, Ocultan and others appear in my pages. My new edition comes with an free split CDR between the greek hordes Enshadowed/Burial Hordes, an exclusevy release only for these edition.
only in the Black Metal aspect, but all true ideology… Only the truest will survive!!!
Necrogoat: I like of some bands that evolute to some professional and sound better oriented… but the bands that change his styles to make some commercial massive attack… I preffer that they change the name and don’t use more the old status in his divulgation. Explosion Cerebral - What do you think about the life and death, what do you expect of your life and about the death? Prophanum: Life is only a way to death. This way can be shortly or longer. Just depends of your own "lucky". There's no life after death, I think the same of scientists: "From Dust to dust". So, enjoy your life as you wish. Don't spend your litle time with fucking churchs or patetic things !! Necrogoat: I think that we are alive to live with the better manner possible. We will live each moment how the last because the death is the natural termination of all things. I don’t believe in life after death. Death is the end, life is the only aspect of existence!!! Only Death is Real!!!” will be our cry of war!!! Explosion Cerebral - Do you think that the black metal is a way of life, art or only an expression of the youth, why? Prophanum: "Way of Life" it's a best definition for it, but is more than this... Is a way to find youself Between "musics" and "religions". The most Strongers will reign in this fucking world ! Necrogoat: Black Metal is art yes, but is much more an way of life… an way that only the true persons…. The Nietzchinean Ubermeinsch will be cross these misanthropic paths. The Black Metal how an youth rebel expression is very current nowdays…but how all youth trend is short… only the true Black Metal worshippers prevails!!! The history proof this… No
Explosion Cerebral - If you would have to sum your ideological convictions in few words, how would it go…? Prophanum: I live in MY world, without gods, religions or beliefs, always supporting the True side of things, spreading the true culture by the music. Necrogoat: I am a free man without gods or masters. I create my truth!!! Explosion Cerebral - Any future plan? Prophanum: Play with my horde over Brazil and promote our artefact by the world.
