STATEMENT In today’s world, architecture needs not only to look good, but do good. The adept architect is a problem solver and innovator, but also an arrst. Architecture should always reect the needs and desires of the people, its cultural and physical context, and the statement it wants to transmit. It is not about designing a building, but a place - a place that relies on human experiences to create and foster life, emooons, and character. This is the result of establishing a unique architectural language based on innovaaon, a concise conceptual meaning behind every design, and a gracious aatude towards the needs of not just the people, but the environment as well.

During my experience as a summer intern at HOK I had the opportunity to work on a variety of different tasks focusing on the technical aspects of the projects. I participated in the HOK Houston office renovation located at the Phoenix Tower and on the ACE Mentoring Program. My first responsibility involved working and developing a set of interior architecture details for the office renovation. The ACE Mentoring Program was the next project in which I was engaged with. This program targeted high school students whom aspire on pursuing the career of architecture. For this reason, HOK developed a series of activities for them to explore the practice of the career. I had to develop and design an example project in order for them to have guidance and direction. I was able to understand how important and vital mentoring is in the profession of architecture.
