BRIEF TITLE: Branding and Promotion Collaboration The Brief

Background

Create a brand for a fashion/fixed gear clothing label/company.

The new thing within cycling is ʻfixed gearʼ it has risen from the underground of New York and San Francisco cycle couriers to the fashion and clothing shops of UK cityʼs.

Considerations

With this in mind can a company not only catch the attention of people in the know about ʻfixed gearʼ bikes but also attract people who have no idea about the cycling ethic behind the company.

The brand has to appeal to both young ‘scenster’ types and also to the professional type cycle enthusiasts.

Target Audience 16 – 35 years old. Young professional and city dwellers.

Mandatory Requirements All work should be supported by a broad range of visual investigation in the form of design sheets and notebooks. On going documentation on blog.

BRIEF TITLE: Identity for a youtube music channel. The Brief Create a identity for a You tube music channel Promoting underground and new music.

Considerations Consider what will make these people have a strong association with this. What do they react to? what do they think is cool? Do they even care?

Background More and more people are using the internet to stream video始s and more and more people are creating their own channels online via youtube. Due to this volume it is important that a youtube channel should have its own identity that viewers can relate to or remember.

BRIEF TITLE: Making The Ordinary Engaging The Brief Create a visually engaging piece of graphic design based upon an ordinary and unexciting body of facts, figures layouts with a involvement within music.

Background We are drawn to things that are visually engaging that standout in an otherwise neutral environment.

Considerations

The majority of informational publications are so often conservatively designed without any consideration for the visual and physical aesthetic

Think about the stock the publication is printed and the print process involved.

It must be accessible to a number a demographics within the target audience.

The format and how this may affect distribution. How the view will engage with the publication. Legibility, layout and typography. Think about how the Chosen audience will react with to the design/product.

BRIEF TITLE: Music Based Poster Series The Brief

Background

Design and Produce a 3 series of 5 posters with packaging using type as image as the visual, that are to be hung in contemporary home environment.

Although the artwork will be editioned, it wonʼt be mass-produced to avoid the Ikea showhome look where everyone has he same print on their wall.

The artwork must have a bespoke look it must remain financially accessible.

It must be accessible to a number a demographics within the target audience.

The Main theme of the posters is Electronic Music ranging from underground to ʻpopular. Considerations Think about the stock the image is printed and the print process involved. 1 colour, 2 colour , digital printed or screen printed etc. The language that is used with in the poster and the think about how legible/ illegible the type can be to create a image. Target Audience 18 – 35 with an awareness of design and contemporary culture. Interest in electronic music. Dj’s, Artist’s, Music enthusiast’s.

Mandatory Requirements All images should be supported by a broad range of visual investigation in the form of design sheets and notebooks. The final image should be presented as portrait format. All type must be based on Helvetica typeface.
