Rationale Branding & Identity design for the culture sector. Delivered through any means necessary.
Subjects / Themes My aim is to create design that is intended for the culture sector and aimed at a number of audiences helping me create a portfolio that shows I can work for a vaired amount of clients and am not stuck to one ‘style’ of design. The design will be influenced by culture sectors such as theatre the arts and music.
Design Disciplines / Creative Development I will communicate creative concepts through designed based areas such as branding, promotion, typography and identity design delivered through screen, print and experimental formats to engage with audiences from a creative back ground : Designers, Artist’s and art enthusiasts music loyalists and those with in interest in culture.
Practical Skills / Workshops – what, why and when? A consistant use of design based principles will be apparent though out my work. I will focus mainly on creating design for different clients and target audiences. -drawing skills: concept building + idea Generation - Illustrator: resolving initial ideas and treatments. -Indesign: - type, layout and portfolio generation. -Photoshop: - Mock up + reproduction. -Photography Documentation of work for portfolio and assement use and design in context. -Blogspot; - documentation of design context, design practice ppd and evaluation. -Digital print To produce products ,mock ups and proofs -Veron Street print – Full use of facilites.

From this brief I want to improve my layout skills and work with type and image. I also wanted to create a document that would be printed professionally and learn the process of dealing with a printer.

From this brief i want to work outside my comfort zone and use materials and colour palette that different from my other work. I also wanted to produce work that was aimed at a different target audience using design elements that would appeal to them and not just me.

Rationale:
From this brief I wanted to collaborate with another creative that was a non designer. This was to enhance my collaborative communication and negotiation skills. I was also wanted to communicate to a different target audience who are a focused gallery audience. I wanted to understand the artist's aesthetic as well as solve a communication problem.

From this brief I wanted to gain skills in creating a brand and an identity looking at how to market the ideas and see how far I could push them.
