Habitats 1 Emerging National competition

2020 Organised by “Ministerio de la nación argentina” Workteam: coauthor + arq.BRANKEVICH Iván, arq. CRESPO Agustín, arq. CONTINO Laura, arq.D’ELIA Ramiro, arq. GARCIA Andoni The competition seeks design proposals for the construction of environmentally efficient housing that can be built in emergency situations. The proposal is implanted in the Pampas region of Argentina, responding to its climatic and environmental conditions.

The proposal focuses on the following principles: Indeterminacy of uses: Less functional definition, greater freedom of use. The open structure responds to the diversity of possible living scenarios. It is a spatially specific but programmatically undefined system. The modules are adaptable and allow the appropriation of the user.

Thermal well-being: The ideal temperature of a space depends on the activity that takes place in it, so the houses propose a central greenhouse space, which allows the interior condition to be varied. This passive air conditioning system allows: closing in winter to retain heat and opening in summer to ventilate the rooms. Two types of interdependent spaces are proposed: Container modules: minimize their relationship with the outside, provide privacy and better thermal control. The greenhouse modules: transition between collective space-individual space. Thermal regulator of the house. Low complexity system that regulates ventilation and incidence of the sun.

Technical resolution: A rational system is used; durable materials: Galvanized steel structure with interlocking, self-supporting thermal panel walls with clipped joints, standard aluminum carpentry and alveolar polycarbonate in the greenhouse . Reversible assembly mechanisms: they allow facing scenarios of permanence and also relocation. It is a low complexity system: dimension, weight and assembly of the pieces do not require labor or specialized tools. The repetition and grouping of the proposed linear system optimizes the use of resources. The central streets of the complex promote meeting and integration between the inhabitants.

house 2 Tree International competition

2021 Organised by “D&A Publisher” Workteam: coauthor + arq.AMENTA, Emanuel

The competition looked at redefining a home as an active part of Mother Nature, to re-imagine sustainability through innovation of maximum usable space in a minimum footprint, to reinforce and maximize our relationship with Nature.

CUBICA aims to reinterpret the historically established character of the tree house. It proposes a simple scheme, open to multiple activities that emphasize the playful nature of the space.

The open plan allows a flexible space that contemplates different types of activities. The game and leisure as the main activity of the house. The service seeks to disappear among the reflections.

The site is the tree. The house almost dematerializes to propose a total immersion in nature. Go up to play, meet the inner child. Inhabit the tree.
