1. Hello! I am Mary. This is me when I was back in September. At that time I was scared and I didn’t know what I need to do in second year. (Also I have spent a month in the hospital so I missed something in the beginning.) 2. I would like to share something personal with all of you. These are my lovely lads in my brain, and they have always been bad for long time, when I need to use one of them, the chairman which is Japanese is always speaks the first, then Cantonese starts to think about how to translate to English. It has always been a difficult task for me. Because sometimes all the guys are on strike that they refuse to work. 3. This is a very quick year in comparison to first year, we have a new module called “responsive” which is completely new for me. I enjoyed doing this module(apart from the collaboration brief) because it’s fun, and like a self-directed project, which I could do or make whatever I want. This year’s cop has been surprisingly well in my opinion because I could research something by myself, more freedom given to us, I think I have done alright with cop. 4. I have researched more often compared to first year, Majority of my inspirations were from the artist case studies. I have never thought I am going to make publications before 505, I was inspired by the publishers and the colourful, playful tone of voice. Makes me want to try and produce something similar! 5. That was the moment of inspiration of making publication for 505, and I love it, although the process was long and time consuming, once you have received your final book, you won’t regret for spending so much time on it. Like how to blind the book, texture and how many pages. 6. I could talk about how much I hated collaboration for an hour. However, It was my bad for not being careful to pick the group or people for the collaboration brief, as the result I had a bad experience working with other people, but I could have avoided this situation. 7. In this year I decided to make my Instagram a professional sharing platform with my works and communicate with other illustrators. I found the creative report person on Instagram as well, I could find so much thing on Instagram if I am using it correctly. 8. In November I decided to giveaway my hand drawn stickers to different artists in Thought bubble, I wasn’t prepared well for this one but that gave me a chance for practicing talk to strangers and some artists has already recognised my works on Instagram! 9. After talking to professionals in Thought bubble, I sort of understand how talk to strangers and try to promote my works in front of them. This time I had printed stickers so the quality was better than last time, and I managed to sold out the stickers.
10. I just realised that I having been making books and publications since 406, with different medias like screen prints, felt tip marker pens, digital book and watercolour publications. I have improved everything bit by bits, I am still finding my best tone of voice to represent me,I like each styles I tried but I can’t make up my mind which one am I going to stick with. 11. I have changed the style of blogging in comparison to last year. I did swear a lot and using a lot of memes, and other funny pictures last year, but this year, I tried to be a bit more formal for writing the blogs and critical analyse the strength, weakness and improvements for my works. 12. I am going to make 505 to next year for further practice, I feel like I haven’t explore this story much and I want to refine remake some parts of this brief. It might be the best to try to publish as a real book next year in the book fair. 13. In this summer, it’s going to be a great summer because I am going to research for cop 3! Wooo So that I wouldn’t stress about the distinction after we come back from the break. Of course I will enjoy the sun and spending time with my family as well. 14. I feel like it would be nice to share some advices or ideas from second year,don’t do your essay a week before deadline, because you will cry and starts to hate yourself.
