“The challenge is to rediscover, through the means of social communication as well as by personal contact, the beauty that is at the heart of our existence and journey, the beauty of faith and of the beauty of the encounter with Christ.” ~ Pope Francis, Sept. 21, 2013

As an initiative for the new evangelization, the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation will launch a Facebook page on October 7, Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, dedicating this new effort to her patronage and intercession. Why Facebook? Social media offer a unique opportunity for sharing the Good News. In his message for the 2013 World Communications Day, Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI chose to reflect on the importance of social networks as new spaces for evangelization. He noted that, “Believers are increasingly aware that, unless the Good News is made known also in the digital world, it may be absent in the experience of many people…” He urged Christians to share in these spaces “the source of their hope and joy”: Jesus Christ. Social media provide a means for building community, through communication and sharing of spiritual goods, through dialogue and friendship. We invite you to join our Facebook community on October 7, 2013!
