Located on the mighty Kama River, lies Perm, Russia; the city with a dream. Perm used to be a place of exile for criminals and prisoners but for the last five years the city has been working to rebrand the city and make it an exciting and attractive place to live. Perm is now the sixth largest city in Russia and they have done a lot to make their city a tourist hot spot. Theaters, international artists, and music fairs have all become an everyday part of the city life. However, the locals are hesitant about the changes in the city and Perm is loosing a large amount of their young people. This is the “fifth year” of Perm trying to make thier city a more enjoyable place to live. “Fifth Year” is designed to help Perm fufill their colorful and flamboyant dream while also encouraging the young people and locals to stay in the city. The floor plan is inspired by a popluar russian motif and the navy, magenta, and gold color scheme demand attention without being overwhelming. Dark woods and ambient lighting will help create a relaxed, inviting, and enjoyable dining experience. The bar is the focal point of the restaurant and all other seating radiates around it. This will let the young customers know that they are important to the city and they always have a place here.

The story of Perm’s dream and the purpose of Fifth Year is located on the back of the menu so everyone that visits can learn the interesting history of the restaurant as well as the city.

The foyer immediately opens up to the hostess stand and waiting area. The private dining area is located to the right of the hostess stand so parties can be directed quickly and easily to the appropriate dining area. The doors at the entry were designed to mimic the angled bar that can be seen from the street to draw customers in.
