ROCKER ONE Low in its stance, wide in its grip, Rocker One creates the perfect, soft shell for release and rest of your body. Laser cut precision is utilized to create dimpled cross bars, allowing the steel to seamlessly engage with the leather sling. Klein Home is stripped of complicated, processed materials. It rather finds its simplicity in the beauty of interweaving natural materials and plate steel profiles. Leather in the sling of our Rocker One effortlessly flows between the two laser cut steel profiles.

Bottom radii are laser etched to allow for seamless integration of a leather strip, serving as protective material and allowing for the Rocker One to be rocked on any soft or hard floor surface.

The suspension of the leather sling is achieved without any additional hardware or materials manipulating the leather. The leather sling is merely cut to a perfect dimension and holes are punched through its ends allowing it to be seamlessly engaged with the ribbed steel cross bars.

The steel profiles are laser cut in Los Angeles, , just minutes away from our studio. The leather for the sling is sourced locally and the piece is assembled in our home studio in DTLA.

ROCKER TWO Iced tea in hand, Sam Cooke on the hifi, the rocker tall is deeply rooted in Southern American porch culture. While its heritage might be southern, the Rocker Two finds elegance in its lengthy back and slender lines. It plays with a traditional archetype; the rocker you might remember your grandmother rocking in, elevating it with and exposed, oversized bottom curve and slim vertical lines. The slim oak pieces fit seamlessly within the steel frame, creating a weaving effect. No bolts, no screws. A perfect dialogue of two materials.Â

34

35

36

01 01 Elegant in its profile, Klein Home fits its oak sticks for the Rocker Two slightly above the lasercut steel profile. This slight shift allows the softness of the wood to be seen from its profile.

02 Drawing inspiration from a traditional Danish weaving process, with our Rocker Two it is wood not thread that creates the seamless, interwoven engagement. The back rest and seating plane, both made out of thin oak strip wood, pass through each other, allowing light to pass through and soften the Rocker Two’s nature.

CHAISE The Chaise is quite literally our long chair. With its many uses, it can serve well as an outdoor deckchair, a sunlounger, or as part of an elegant, indoor living room. Exposing the strength of two thin materials, our Chaise carries the tired travelers’ body on a thin sheet of steel with a comfortable, 10 ounce layer of leather. The sheet metal is rolled to allow ones body to comfortably lounge upon a floating plane.

01 Thin plate steel is formed into position on the laser cut frame. Thick yet supple leather is then pressed onto the metal form. The inherently rigid plate steel reads soft; while supple leather appears as the strong material carrying the resting body. It is precisely in their interaction that the comfort of this piece is achieved.

BAR Be it in the gentleman’s corner of your apartment or center stage in your living room, the Bar in its simplicity, serves as a humble vessel for your most precious liquids. The opacity of the ribbed wood enclosure allows for one’s imagination to run wild. It is only when viewed from select angles that the bar reveals its possessions. Slip a finger through the wood slats on its front to effortlessly pull open its doors and reveal a splendor of hidden vices. A leather top makes your drink prep all the more enjoyable. Beautifully aging with time, the Bar will serve as a trusted companion for years to come.

03 The Bar was first designed in 3d space, which allowed for a precise definition of custom hardware that creates a seamless end product. It’s not easy to tell where the doors begin and where they end. The Bar thus calls for a closer look, an investigative process that takes the user around its soft corners.

Pivot Chair Inspired by a boat chair found in an old Belgian warehouse, our Pivot Chair pays homage to a simple mechanical solution to a problem of finding rest on a moving boat. Our Pivot Chair may not be absorbing the movements of the sea, but by allowing for simple rotational movement we make sure you are comfortable wherever you might find yourself. The Pivot Chair is a chair for your home or your office; it sits around the kitchen table; it’s lined up and down the conference table. It lives multiple lives, serves numerous uses; while always making each and every user comfortable.

Klein Agency is an architecture, furniture and research studio based in Los Angeles, California. Creatively rethinking the way in which people dwell, Klein Agency focuses on simple solutions to living well. Maša and Jon Kleinhample initially founded Klein Agency in 2015 in Antwerp, Belgium. The couple migrated their studio to Southern California and today they design out of their agency in the Arts District, Downtown Los Angeles. Drawing inspiration from traditional furniture archetypes, the duo’s second release of furniture, Klein Home, is an exposé of simplicity of form and pureness of material. Designed and fabricated in DTLA, Klein Home is a collection of objects for the home. With a background in architecture and their previous art studio, LMBRJK (www. lmbrjk.com), Klein Agency is built on experience, an understanding of design processes, and a desire to give spaces, products and brands new, unexpected identities, rich in materials and attentive to details. Klein Agency understands and applies its’ design process in a holistic way, creating for its clients new untold stories, where all components come together in an elegant and coherent narration. Maša and Jon Kleinhample started Klein Agency with an idea to weave together their independent areas of expertise into one creative venture. Formally trained as an architect in Los Angeles, Jon designed for Neil Denari in Los Angeles, Asymptote Architects in New York and in Berlin for Barkow Leibinger Architects. In 2012 he started his first independent venture, an art studio - LMBRJK. With a policy advising background and long nights amidst international politics, Maša took a career turn and today acts as an integral creative and managing partner of Klein Agency. Jon’s pedigree along with Maša’s Slovenian background, which intertwine a mixture of geometric acrobatics and a rich appreciation for raw materials, is what forms the principles behind Klein Agency.
