his Directory is sponsored by the Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation’s Equine Committee. The Massachusetts Farm Bureau is a not-for-profit farming organization that represents all agriculture in the Commonwealth. We offer a wide range of services to our members in addition to working with the governing body of Massachusetts for the betterment of all producers big and small. Massachusetts Farm Bureau Federation is an independent, non-governmental, voluntary organization with its roots in agriculture. MFBF unites all people from many diverse backgrounds for the overall betterment of Massachusetts. MFBF is the state’s largest agricultural organization made up of over 6,500 member families from across the Commonwealth. The MFBF was organized in November 1921. At that time there were several county farm bureaus in existence, and as early as 1918, Middlesex County Farm Bureau sold a variety of farm supplies. Over the years the emphasis within MFBF has switched from cooperative sales to membership and legislative concerns. Concerned over the future of farming in Massachusetts, MFBF brought about the shift toward legislative goals to combat the persistent loss of farms. It was the decision of MFBF members to develop comprehensive programs designed to educate and build support from their legislators and the public. Through the strength of its membership, MFBF continues its efforts for the very existence of agriculture in Massachusetts. MFBF is for everyone. Other MFBF programs include the Young Farmers, Women’s Committee, Dairy Committee, and scholarships. You can reach MFBF at:
