[ landscape master plan & feasibility study ] at bishop land design role: project manager
Advertisement
Presidents Coast is a citywide network of pedestrian and bike trails aiming to connect Quincy’s peninsulas to Quincy Center and improve access to the city’s natural resources and waterfront. BLD was commissioned to study, plan and design a network that takes advantage of existing infrastructure and open spaces, enhances physical and ecological conditions of both natural features and humanmade structures, and fills in the gaps with proposed design and engineering solutions. The initial step was a landscape master plan and feasibility study for a smaller portion of the project.

I managed the project from kickoff through preparation of the final report. My responsibilities included managing the design team staff for research, design and production, coordinating project schedule, billing, client meetings, steering committee and community engagement events. A big part of the work was handling communications with community members, city departments, media staff, and journalists. Public outreach was one of the main parts of the scope. I managed our team to plan, prepare and conduct multiple public events and later on, document, synthesize and visualize the recieved feedback. The goal for this phase was to understand the community’s desires and priorities, find the best alignments for this pedestrian network, and identify the permitting processes for implementation.
