Highlighting Our Industry

During Construction Week, companies, service providers, and their partners recognize the hard work of those individuals who help create our built environment. This recognition takes many forms, including highlighting workers, distributing appreciation gifts, hosting company outings, and more.!

For the sixth consecutive year, Gov. Kim Reynolds proclaimed the first full week in October “Construction Week in Iowa.” The official proclamation signing in her formal office was attended by MBI members and staff.

MBI provided a couple of job sites with an “on the house” lunchs this year to member employees of those job sites to express the appreciation we all have for the men and women in the industry. This was a great way to kick off Construction Week 2021! Many companies celebrated Construction Week in their own ways, including both MBI members and non-members alike! Some companies hung banners at their job sites and wore branded Construction Week apparel while others promoted the week and their employees across social media.

Construction Week may occur only once a year, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the only time to celebrate and promote the industry. By demonstrating appreciation for industry colleagues, we not only recognize their achievements, but simultaneously increase the visibility of construction careers in our communities.
