BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Business Development is the process of planning for future growth by identifying new opportunities, forming strategic partnerships, and adding value to a company. It serves as the thread connecting all of a company's functions or departments. Business Development encourages teamwork and strategic planning across all departments. The process impacts every department, including sales, marketing, manufacturing, customer service, human resources, accounting, finance, product development, and vendor management.

DIMENSIONS OF WELLNESS 2.

Wellness means overall well-being. It is an ongoing process and a life-long journey, not a one-time event. Mindfully focusing on wellness in our lives builds resilience and enables us to thrive amongst life's challenges. Wellness comprises of eight mutually co-dependent dimensions: emotional, physical, occupational, social, spiritual, intellectual, environmental, and financial. Taking action on all eight interconnected dimensions of wellness builds everyday habits, which improve quality of life. It may also help individuals live longer, manage current health conditions, and support recovery from illness, injury, and addiction. If any one of these dimensions is neglected over time, it will adversely affect one's health, well-being, and quality of life.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Leadership roles are those that facilitate execution of an organization's strategy through building alignment, winning mindshare, and growing the capabilities of others. Leadership development helps prepare current and future generations of leaders by enhancing their abilities and confidence to perform effectively in their roles. It enables employees to improve their skills in areas such as decision making, project management, and strategy. Empowering leaders to better support their teams and organizations can have a substantial impact on employees, fostering improved engagement and effectiveness.

EMPLOYEE & JOBSITE SAFETY

Employee and jobsite safety are foundational in fostering a resilient organizational culture and ensuring sustainable industry practices. In commercial construction, critical high-risk tasks carry potential life-altering consequences that can be significantly reduced through proactive hazard recognition and risk mitigation. Training and education play a pivotal role in empowering both frontline personnel and office/leadership to enhance safety awareness and mitigate risks effectively. By providing a continuous flow of vital information, we cultivate a 'safety always' mindset among all those tackling risks daily.

ConstructConnect

Beyond just bidding information, ConstructConnect is committed to simplifying bid management while connecting generals with specialty contractors and suppliers. To assist in this area, ConstructConnect has developed an array of tools to help users navigate preconstruction needs with technology solutions.

MOBILE ELEVATING WORK PLATFORMS: SAFE USE AND REQUIREMENTS

Mobile elevating work platforms, or MEWP's, are critical components of most maintenance and construction operations. When a worker must perform a task above ground, a platform, such as a scissor lift or boom lift is often utilized to complete the job in a safe and efficient manner. Also known as aerial work platforms, these powerful vehicles are available in many different sizes and configurations; however, all of them have one thing in common: They can be very dangerous. To better protect operators, other platform occupants and workers on the ground, the American National Standards Institute, ANSI, in conjunction with the Scaffold and Access Industrial Association, SAIA, has adopted revisions of its A92 suite of mobile elevating work platform regulations that focus on the design of these vehicles, their safe use and the training of all personnel who participate in aerial lift operations, including operators, occupants, maintenance workers and supervisors. This video reviews the important changes in the new standards and discusses the basic safe work practices platform operators must follow to prevent accidents and injuries. Topics include platform classification, ANSI training requirements, site risk assessment, rescue planning, pre-operational inspection, work zone inspection, driving safety, raising and working on the platform, and lowering and dismounting a lift.

FAQ's for

MBI

ership service, Master Builders of Iowa offers the MBI Training Vault, which can only be accessed by MBI members. The Training Vault is an electronic tool that is designed to make the process of tracking and documenting training records easy, organized, accurate, and accessible. Employees with a username and password for access to the MBI website can use the same login information to access Training Vault. For password assistance, please contact Nichole Fry at NFry@MBI.Build.

How do I log into the Training Vault?

A: Go to mbi.trainingvault.com

Enter your username and password.

Does it cost us to view these videos?

A: No. MBI is providing these REELZ videos as an exclusive member benefit. These are for MBI members only and are not to be shared with others outside the organization.

I cannot access the Training Vault because my username & password are not working.

A: A few culprits could be causing this. 1. If you've recently joined your company and are not yet listed on the company roster with MBI, you may need to be added. 2. Your Training Vault administrator may need to correct your email address with MBI. 3. You simply forgot it. Please email Nichole Fry for help at NFry@MBI.Build.

Who is the Training Vault administrator for my company?

A: The Training Vault Administrator is someone that has been delegated by the owner/CEO/President to be responsible for roster accuracy and the assignment of training content. Please email Nichole Fry at NFry@MBI.Build to find out who your administrator is.

Can I put in videos that are exclusively for my company?

A: Yes! We can upload your company specific on-boarding videos or other training videos to the Training Vault specifically for your company’s employees. Reach out to Janel Haynes at JHaynes@MBI.Build. It will be critical that the Training Vault administrator provide accurate rosters to MBI to ensure that any past employees that are no longer with your company are not able to continue to view your content. To provide updates to your employee roster, reach out to Nichole Fry at NFry@MBI.Build.

Can other companies access my company-specific content in Training Vault?

A: No. Videos are company specific and no other company but yours will have access to view them. But again, it will be critical that your company’s designated Training Vault administrator provide accurate rosters to MBI to ensure that any past employees that are no longer with your company are not able to continue to view your content. To provide updates to your employee roster, reach out to Nichole Fry at NFry@MBI.Build.

Will there be accessibility features within MBI REELZ for my language needs, i.e. closed captioning for my hearing, and/or Spanish since it is my native language?

A: Yes! We are using an additional feature for our videos that will support these accessibility needs.

What is the benefit of using MBI REELZ?

A: MBI REELZ provides programming vetted by content experts at MBI/CSSI and allows your employees to continue their personal and professional growth in a convenient and on demand structure at a time and place that best fits their schedule. MBI REELZ is a no-charge service offered exclusively as a member benefit.

Members can add their own company specific video content that is tailored to their company and employees, such as onboarding or a company orientation. Administrators can assign learning content directed to everyone's strengths, needs, or skills. Notifications will be sent to administrators when employees have completed assigned training. These resources will only be visible to individuals within that company and will not be accessible to any other MBI members. Content will be safely stored in a trackable viewing format that can be accessed with closed captioning as well as translated in Spanish. To have your content uploaded to your company's private vault, contact Janel Haynes at JHaynes@MBI.Build.
