When the founder Lloyd Reaves read an article on 38 reasons buildings often fail he set out to create an innovative top of the line building that would withstand the test of time. At Reaves, they believe we have succeeded. Harvest Timber Specialty Products, marketing arm for Windswept Weathered Wood, recognizes this excellence and reached out to Reaves Building Systems in an effort to diversify their portfolio and increase their customer base. By incorporating the warm and inviting nuances of weathered wood siding for interior and exterior elevations into their design collection just seemed to make sense, says Glen Ehrhardt, CEO & Founder of HTSP. This particular project is located at Big Stone Lake, which is 26 miles long on the South Dakota-Minnesota border. The lake is the source of the Minnesota River and attracts anglers who catch walleye, northern pike, yellow perch and bluegills. The northern section of the park, called the Bonanza Area, provides a picnic area and boat launch for guests. The area also includes the Bonanza Education Center, which provides a place to discover the past and ways to preserve it. Windswept product adds style, sophistication and practicality to what designers have long called for- a reclaimed appearance with the stability and structural integrity of new wood, backed by regulated industry associations, at nearly half the investment of reclaimed materials and with minimal waste. Their resilient low VOC finishes replicate reclaimed materials for both interior and exterior applications. The wood fiber is derived from “standing dead� trees out of Rocky Mountain region, thus lending an idyllic environmental compliment and Eco-Story to boot. This parlays into an effortless presentation process that will enhance any scope project with product performance and cost effectiveness.
