LINDALE, Texas (KETK) - The Lindale city manager, Craig Lindholm, describes the Lindale Cannery as a "game changer" for our local community. The well-known restaurant and country music venue, Love and War in Texas, is a focal point of the city's downtown project, The Lindale Cannery. "We were so fortunate that they're willing to come here and to establish Lindale as the third location of a fabulous, Texas-based, Texas-oriented restaurant, entertainment center, it's unbelievable," said Lindholm. "Love and War in Texas will help solidify the fact that Lindale is now a destination city." "It's all about Texas everything," said Ty Phelps, Love and War in Texas owner. "Texas food, Texas music, Texas heritage, so you can't get more Texas than East Texas and Miranda Lambert." "We were often guests there and we sang with some of the biggest names in Texas then," said Miranda's dad, Rick. "I was her guitar player at the time and we went up there every chance we got." Chad Franke, one of the major developers, said they are starting the new construction part now that they have completed demolition, continuing to focus on music and millennials. "We might be a smaller downtown to start, but we're going to be a downtown with heart," said Franke. "We want to look to see, what do they want, what do they desire, what experiences?" "This is all about the future of East Texas, the future of Lindale, so it's exciting," said Lindholm. "It's exciting. I'm totally pumped about it." The project should come to fruition next summer, bringing new life to an old canning plant with a strong emphasis on community, food, music and all things Texas.

Built on the location of a working cannery from days past, The Cannery blends the old with the new, all while making an effort to establish the Lindale, Texas community as a premier destination for entertainment, shopping and dining on East Texas.

The Pink Pistol is a great place to visit. The people there are very friendly. We had a great time and definitely recommend doing the nine flavor wine tasting. We also bought a couple coffee samples and can't wait to try them. (customer review)
Love & War in Texas Certainly an epic name for what has become an epic restaurant. Love & War in Texas is a restaurant developed by native Texan Tye Phelps who believes the philosophy described by Mr. Steinbeck. The concept was created to promote Texas, Texans, Texas food and Texas Heritage. You will not find any “sushi” or “Alaskan snow crab” on our menu. Only fresh Texas Gulf seafood, Texas produce and Texas-grown meats… all cooked into authentic Texas recipes. To complement the cuisine, L&W has an extensive “all-Texas” wine list and an equally impressive collection of Texas Beers. Live Texas music has become a tradition at L&W. Texas singers and songwriters from around the state are finding their way to what is quickly becoming a central gathering place for Texas music and Musicians.
More dining choices are set to open soon at ‘The Cannery’. Remember… you are always welcome to visit with us-
