enya could become the first African country to tap global debt markets this year as it begins a bond roadshow this week, but Eurobond financing is likely to remain out of reach for most of its peers on the continent.

Bond sales from sub-Saharan Africa, which had previously been booming, are yet to start in 2016 after a stormy start to the year for commodities and currencies that has left some countries on the brink of crisis.

Despite the difficulties, some African Eurobonds have been outperforming, thanks in part to the bounce in oil and metals but also on the back of some potential turnaround stories, something all investors love.

Back in January investors were demanding record premiums of 620 basis points to hold African bonds rather than U.S. debt. That has now fallen back to 550 bps, with oil importers Kenya and Ivory Coast topping the list of winners An investor-friendly debt swap by Mozambique's state-run fishing firm has also helped sentiment, as has struggling metal miner Zambia starting talks with the International Monetary Fund.

7 Banks Hold 80 Percent Of Kenya's Population Cash more smoothly to all the banks.

"You cannot tell me even with their risk profile an institution is four times the price to another institution, there is something wrong with that model," he said.

nly seven banks out of 42 banks hold 80 percent of Kenya's population cash raising concerns of liquidity among Kenyan Banks.

This is according Central Bank of Kenya Governor Patrick Njoroge who says other banks are starved of liquidity.

Njoroge says liquidity management issues have not started in the recent past, but has been going on for a long time.

"The problem did not start with Imperial Bank, it predates all these issues in the sector, if you look at the interbank market for instance some banks will trade at reasonably favourable rates, but when they lend to another smaller bank it's like four times the rates, there is this sort of segmentation in the market. So you have some banks are playing in the wading pool while others are in the swimming pool," he illustrated.

He says liquidity needs to move much

This comes even as banks struggle to make profit with increase in nonperforming loans becoming prevalent in the sector.

Treasury Cabinet Secretary Henry Rotich had earlier proposed that banks core capital be raised from Sh1 billion to Sh5 billion within the next three years but Governor Njoroge is still opposed to the move.

"It's not that we should have a minimum capital of Sh1 billion or Sh5 billion or Sh10 billion those are all the wrong questions, the question is, are the institution resilient? Can they sustain shocks? - are they efficient," he stated.

He said banks should diversify their investments and lending portfolio so that they have more options and are less likely to be destabilized by one shock in a particular sector.

"This is the time that banks need to think through their own business, it's a transition point where they need to strengthen their business model and also consolidate with other institutions, find strategic investors that will make the bank more resilient," he added.

"Since 2010 the aggregate of listed banks profit after tax has grown at a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 13.5 percent. Deposits have grown at a CAGR of 13.5 percent, with loans and advances having outpaced deposit growth at a CAGR of 19.4 percent," the report states.

As a result of the high interest rate environment in 2015 and with increased supervision of banks as a following the exposure to Imperial Bank and Dubai Bank, banks have built up capital and other provisionary requirements with the most notable being the increase in the listed banks' loan loss provisions by 85.4 percent .

This has led to an increase in the cost to income ratios of banks. The nonperforming loans for the year also rose as a result of the expensive costs of financing loans.

"The closure of Imperial Bank as a result of "unsafe and unsound practices", combined with the recent suspension of the CEO and senior executives of National Bank, pending an internal audit, has raised questions over the state of corporate governance in the Kenyan banking sector, as well as the ability of regulatory authorities such as CBK and CMA to effectively monitor banking practices," the report indicates.

Listen, it is bad enough you've been reduced to driving a mini-van, changing diapers and making baby noises. We get it. You're a dad. You've sowed and reaped your seed, there isn't much more for you to prove. Now what is even worse is that you are a father, and this whole parenting thing takes up a lot of your free free time.

Obviously both genders are guilty of lowering their personal grooming when the baby comes around, but it shouldn't s t a y t h i s w a y permanently. Once the first year of sleepless nights is over, it is time to re-join adulthood.

Perhaps even before that.

My reasoning for this is simple: we are supposed to be setting an example for the kids. If you show your kids life is over after they procreate when they are children, imagine if that is how they live their lives when they grow-up.

Depressing? Huh? The real kicker is when we let our physical appearance slip, so does our general confidence and happiness.

Kids pick up very easily on their parents' mood. Ultimately if you are unhappy this will affect them and not in a good way. It is good to focus a lot of energy on parenting, but we still have to hold onto our adulthood to make us happy to. Part of a responsibility is to maintain our own personal happiness.

So here are five very easy ways that you can look less like a hobo and more like a father. As a bonus, if you are with the baby mama or with another lady they will enjoy seeing you get all cleaned up. You're welcome.

1. Just say no to sweat pants outside of the house If you are not working out, sick, working outside or lounging around the house sweat pants are not appropriate everyday attire.

Sweat pants look tacky no matter where you get them from, and it makes you look like you've given up all hope of ever looking like a respectable adult again. They also allow you to put on extra pounds easily without ever notice. I don't believe I tell grown men this, but put on some freaking pants!

2. No holes Holes in pants, shirts, socks or in any item of clothing is a sure sign it is time to retire it. I don't care if jeans with holes in the knees are popular for young kids, you are an adult now. Besides how are you going to tell your kids not to wear clothes with holes in them if you do it all of the time yourself?

Trust me, if you are past your late twenties holes in clothes just make you look like that creepy old guy that is too afraid to let go of his youth and embrace his real age, and that isn't a flattering look on anyone.

3. The beard Some guys look really great in beards. It is even fashionable with the younger crowd right now.

Honestly though, some of you just look like you just stepped out of shack in the middle of nowhere Others of you just can't grow a beard, and it is time to accept that as an inevitable fact. There is nothing worse than a patchy and pathetic beard on any male face. If you look like one of these people, it is time to either maintain it or shave it off.

4. Shoes besides sneakers You should own at least one pair of shoes that isn't a pair of sneakers, flip-flops, or reserved for funerals and weddings. You could even go wild and own two pairs of shoes that aren't casual! There are lots of comfortable, casual options out there for guys. If you don't want to spend that much just shop for sales, or you can ask your wife, girlfriend or mother too. In fact, you can even shop for shoes without going anywhere thanks to the internet.

Focus on creating wealth that will sustain your livelihood and create a lasting legacy. Even those who win the jackpot must invest their money for sustainability purposes. If not, then it becomes a total waste because you enjoy the pleasure of spending money that has not been accounted for.

Success accompanied by a lack of preparedness

Define success. What does success mean to you? Does it mean scoring an A, getting an MBA, being financially stable, establishing a family, owning a home etc. Success depends on your own ability and determination to work hard. Define your success and work towards achieving it.

Set realistic goals. Most of us get excited and set 'big unrealistic' goals forgetting that we need to make sure they are realistic and attainable. Start small as you look to setting and achieving bigger goals. No goal or milestone is too small or insignificant.

Additionally, learn to set short-term, mid-term and long-term goals.

I always tell my employees that setting 'smaller' short-term goals will help you achieve the greater goals because they help you track the progress towards achieving your overall goal(s).

Seize opportunities. Make the best of your environment and create a livelihood for yourself.

Have the right attitude. Thomas Jefferson once said that nothing can stop a man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal, while nothing on earth can help a man with the wrong attitude. Your attitude will determine the amount of effort you will put in achieving success. It will also help you carry out your role effectively and to do more than you have been assigned. Your attitude is what will guide you when times get tough and when failure occurs.

Go the extra mile. The difference between being ordinary and being extraordinary is that extra effort. Learn to do more than is expected or have been assigned.

Don't be shy to ask for help. Two heads are better than one and your weakness is someone else's point of strength. Help one another and learn to swallow your pride and ask where you need help.

Surround yourself with the best. Have friends who will help you succeed and influence you positively. Don't waste your life and opportunities given with people who are going nowhere.

Focus on the future. Don't be mesmerized or discouraged by the life you live or once lived. Use it instead to work hard because if you don't build a solid life today, you won't find it in the future.

Build your character. Be the person people can admire and believe in.

The 'good life' belongs to those who make the decision to craft and direct their own life. Command your space and gain respect for being who you are and doing what you do.

Look out for challenges. Don't be so comfortable that sometimes your ambition to do better diminishes. Challenges will help you get out of your comfort zone and enable you to be creative. Get out and challenge your mind. It is the only way you will grow.

Taking calculated risks also falls under this category. Just be wise about every move you make.

You must constantly re-invent yourself and your business if you want to succeed. A wise man once said, 'you cannot do today's job with yesterday's methods and be in business tomorrow.'

Work smart. Whatever you do can either bring you closer to your goal or away from it.

Do not get caught up in doing little tasks that do not add value to you. Write down a list of things you need to do and arrange them according to importance or simplicity. This helps you save time and begin with what is familiar to you.

No opportunity goes to waste. Make the best use of every opportunity and prepare well for it. It's unfortunate that most of us do not even have an elevator pitch and end up wasting opportunities when they meet prominent business people. Remember, it's your first and probably your last chance to make an impression. Do the best you can

Growing Your Business It's your second year or third year in business, things seem to be going well, you are beginning to make a good amount of profit and life seems to be going great.

You look back at your business plan and model and it looks good. However, the market begins to change, everything has taken a plunge, inflation is the order of the day, elections are nearing and everyone seems to be hoarding money/resources. You begin to wonder if at all you are ready or had planned for this? Can your business sustain itself for the next six months; will you be able to retain all or most of your employees?

It is important to plan your business and business model in a way that will factor in all possibilities. You can play the 'What if' game or generally look for loopholes to help you get solutions before disaster strikes. Every time I am out to make serious money, I figure someone somewhere is playing the 'what if' card on me. They think something unexpected may happen resulting to failure.

More often than not, they are right. However, a real business man/woman is able to spot this long before and either plan for it or get his/her money out and into another investment.

Every business is a risk taken. It's vital to consider where else you can find the extra income. I once wrote about not placing your eggs in one basket as a means to financial freedom. You need to take note of that and make it happen. Let's face it; you are not a professional footballer or athlete whose personal Manager has made plans to secure their future even after their retirement. As a matter of fact, there are some who become bankrupt once their careers are over or once they retire because they never thought to add another string to their bow (another source of income).

Diversification is the name and rule of the game if you want to be wealthy. Strive to have more than once source of income, broaden your investments. That way, whatever happens in a 'What if' scenario, you will be secure.

Be wise, whether you are in business or employed. Do not wait to act once you get fired or retrenched; it might be too late. Sustain your livelihood by letting your money work for you
