I’ve seen pictures like this on Tumblr. I thought the style was really cute and simple.

My theme for the set of greeting cards was helping the poor. By selling these cards at school, I was able to raise money for Caritas and assist those in need.

I wanted to recreate a sculpture that I had seen. I liked the different layering techniques in that sculpture and wanted to add it to my own idea.

I designed a character in the style of pop art. Adding makeup elements to my design makes things brighter and more vibrant. I chose red as the main colour as it captures attention immediately and draws the eye to the product.

Inspired by a balloon display stand at Bunnings. It gave me the idea to create my own version, with a feminine touch, to celebrate International Women’s Day.

Nadia Turner and Walt Disney were the influences behind my artwork. I liked the unique and friendly styles created by these artists to attract children.

The modern day world forces us to take photos for social media. Everyone is fascinated with finding endangered animals and are almost destructive towards them. My artwork conveys a message of safety to the animals.

The purpose of this artwork is to raise awareness of endangered African elephants. I based my artwork visually on the artist, Leonid Afremov.
39. Arc of the Mind Artist: Meli Hellier, Year 11 blackwood, two ply pine sheet
“Arc” refers to the curvature of the timber, and “Mind” correlates with people’s perceptions of the Arc. I was dedicated to creating a sculpture which was simplistic, and abstract, something which would evoke different views from different individuals. I was influenced by the English artist Barbara Hepworth. Her work exemplifies Modernism (Orpheus, Version 2, 1956) and, in particular, modern sculpture.

If we don’t do something to help the Tasmanian Devils they will end up extinct and in museums.

I was influenced by the style of Art Noveau. I have always had an interest in the fantasy genre and created a character that appears contemporary.

I made a gazelle head to show the beauty of gazelles without hunting them. I chose to use greens and blues because these are the colours that are found in the gazelle’s habitat.

This piece is something that has a personal connection to me as it incorporates a mixture of my passions - Japan, shiba dogs, and art. I used a range of different media to produce this piece, as I thought it could be a way to extend my own knowledge of platforms, as well as giving a contrasting look.

Sight, hearing and touch each represent different senses.
I wanted to do something different. I researched quotes and found one I liked. With help from a friend, I made it the centre of my work. I used blue watercolour to represent the sky.

A lot of people don’t open their hearts. I have represented this idea in my artwork using a door that reveals your heart.
I saw a picture of a flower made out of dresses where each dress was a seperate petal. I was inspired to recreate as an earring.
My artwork raises awareness of endangered green sea turtles. I want to encourage others not to litter as rubbish usually ends up in the water and is fatal to sea life.

I have seen a lot of people making duct tape wallets, clothing and flowers. I saw a few duct tape dresses online and decided to make my own version.

Inspired by video game related music, I created a music festival poster based around that concept. I designed a female character that has visual references to video games and the accompanying logo follows a retro video game style.

60. Falls Music Store & Cafe Artist: Molly O’Bryan, Year 11 Google Sketch-Up
I designed a modern style building which uses large windows and balcony spaces inspired by the architect, Ross Brewin. The addition of a cafe within a music store creates a more inviting and relaxed space for people to sit back and enjoy.

I created a wolf to show they are not bad creatures. Wolves need our help too.

The senses of smell, sight and touch were influences for this piece.
The injustice and discrimination of culture, gender and individuality inspired this piece. I have expressed connection to land and the sheer power that this female figure possesses. The reverse of the artwork presents a choice, as this piece was handed in as an assessment it left my teacher with a decision to make where he, if so wishing, could have torn open the drawing to expose the picture hidden below. I wanted to see if he would and also what he would do after that. Would he tape it up or leave it as it was?

This sculpture of a rainbow trout presented on wood set, in an award winning trophy fish position. A mixture of textile and visual art techniques show the beauty of the trout.
A character inspired by a childhood creation, he brings the night as he walks.

People judge foxes for their natural behaviour but I think we should just accept them for what they are.
I was inspired by feelings which I have visually represented to explain what depression may manifest itself as.
Rohan Sharad Dahotre inspired my artmaking with his photography and use of drawing over the top. I created my own twist on his idea by drawing mandalas on my cat painting.
All the different textures you can create with watercolour inspired me in designing this piece. I liked making the watercolour seem like fur on the koala.
This wonderful exhibition features student artwork completed during Semester 1, 2017. The variety of techniques and skills on display reflects personal interests and stages of development in drawing, painting, printing, digital media, photography and model making. The collection comes from a range of Visual Arts subjects in Years 7-12 including Art, Studio Arts, Textiles and Visual Communication Design.
