Mater Dei, in partnership with the Mater Dei Friends & Alumni Association, hosted a Career Day on January 13, 2023 The student body filled out surveys to help gauge their interest in school and career paths when they leave MD and guests were invited to join us in leading the discussions on the realities of these potential career paths

We kicked off the morning with an introduction from Andy Niemeier ?06, Azzip Pizza Co-CEO Andy talked about the importance of working hard and remaining open to opportunities, speaking from experience as an engineer by trade that now co-leads a successful regional pizza chain From there, students joined breakout sessions with their top 3 chosen fields in the classrooms. We hosted over 50 guests from 40+ career paths to come speak with our students

At the end of the breakout sessions, all students came together to hear some closing remarks from Matt Folz ?91, Evansville Region President for Harding Shymanski & Company, a premier accounting firm with locations in Evansville, IN, and Louisville, KY Matt encouraged the students to be curious, step out of their comfort zones, lean on the Mater Dei community in their job search, make good first impressions, and to be open to God?s plans for all of them as they leave Mater Dei
