New website! Material Sense website is renewed! We invite you to take a look at www.materialsense.com. An overview is given of our activities such as exhibitions, workshops, lectures and more. At ‘news” current developments can be followed and in the new edition ‘in the spotlight’ new and interesting materials developments are highlighted. It is worth to take a look and follow the upcoming inspirational materials.
BNO training materials On the 7th of May the training day ‘Materials/Learning/Application’ took place for BNO (Dutch design Association) members, Industrial designers, artists and interior designers learned more on where to find new materials, how to find new applications and is it possible to innovate products by the use of characteristics of newly developed materials? This day was guided by Els Zijlstra (Materia) and Simone de Waart (Material Sense). Because participants and BNO found it a success more workshops will follow in the future!

D-compose at Hannover Fair D-Compose is the new international travelling exhibition created by Material Sense. For the 3rd year Material Sense was invited by IF (International Forum) and presented a 100 m² booth at the Material Trends Show. From yarn spun from old newspaper to electrically lit patterned wallpaper, all materials and products were selected for their innovative composition out of authentic materials and d-composition as manifested by combinations of new techniques.
D-compose booklet We are pleased to show you the Material Sense booklet composed for this exhibition. Materials for our future workshop Imagine, experts are ringing the alarm bells: raw oil is really getting out of stock now! The Big 8 ministers decided to abandon plastics as a material for consumer products all over the world. In the year 2020 plastics will be illegal. What are our options left? How will our products look like? These and other questions were answered during this unique and creative workshop on the 4th of April at the Meeting Materials Congress at TNO.
