AWARDS

I KNOW YOU ARE BUSY BUT IF YOU HAVE THE TIME, THIS IS MY

PROFESSIONAL PROFILE IF NOT,

As a student with a dual degree in architecture and visual communication design, I’ve had the privilege of gaining a unique perspective that has allowed me to excel in both fields. Through my education and work experience, I have developed a keen eye for design and a deep understanding of how to communicate ideas visually.

Throughout my academic and professional career, I have been fortunate enough to have won several public architecture competitions, which has allowed me to showcase my design skills and gain recognition within the industry in Colombia and in social networks by showcasing my work in instagram. Additionally, I have gained invaluable experience working as both an independent and creative director at an architecture firm, where I have honed my leadership skills and collaborated with colleagues on a wide range of projects.

One of the most significant advantages of studying in three different countries, such as Mexico, Italy, and Colombia, is the exposure to diverse cultural perspectives and design philosophies. By studying in different regions, I have been able to broaden my understanding of architecture and design, learn new techniques, and gain a global perspective on the field.

Moreover, my experiences in multiple countries have allowed me to develop a high level of adaptability and versatility, which is a valuable asset in the fast-paced and constantly evolving field of architecture and design. I have learned to be flexible, open-minded, and able to work effectively with people from different backgrounds and cultures.

Overall, my education and professional experience have given me a strong foundation in architecture and visual communication design.

I am confident that my skills and expertise will make a valuable contribution to any organization that I work for, and I am excited to continue to grow and evolve as a designer and architect in the years to come.

Public architecture Competition

Organized by Sociedad Colombiana de Arquitectos Bogotá D.C. y Cundinamarca

// 1st Place

Role as Head Architect & Creative Director for

Alcuadrado Arquitectos in Collaboration with El taller de Arquitectura

TASK CHALLENGE

To design a sport focus park that can be replicated anywhere in Colombia

ABOUT SOLUTION

Colombia's diverse geography, climate, cultural differences, and socioeconmical situacion of its habitants makes it difficult to design a “One size fits all” project

A prototype park that can arise and evolve, generating adaptability to any condition while maintaining its core essence, through the combination of environmental, social, and urban components. By associating technique and landscape in creating a cultural ecosystem, it aims to foster a sustainable and creative attitude that generates positive transformations in the Colombian urban and territorial context.

Design a modular system that creates the park by articulating its pieces in a way that responds accordingly to the climate, geography, culture and socioeconomics of the city that wants to create a Parque Emergente

PARQUE EMERGENTE

The project is structured under a logic of two systems of surfaces organized within a modular structure, which integrates elements we named “dynamic tiles” which operate within these three fundamental principles:

ADAPTABILITY

Base level composed of a modular system

SELF-SUFFICIENCY

Sustainable construction guidelines INTEGRITY

social and natural integration in the scenarios of the park

which together interweave an adaptable system of urban and social relationships to any implementation condition.

ALCALDÍA SAN CRISTÓBAL

THE HOUSE OF ALL

Public architecture Competition

Organized by Sociedad Colombiana de Arquitectos Bogotá D.C.

TASK

to both design the new City Hall for San Cristobal and restore the historic building in front of it.

// 3rd Place

Role as Junior Architect for

Alcuadrado Arquitectos in Collaboration with EMS Arquitectos

CHALLENGE

The new location of the City Hall is situated amidst significant public spaces that the project must integrate with.

ABOUT SOLUTION

The house of all aims to create a functional and integrated civic space that connects with the surrounding community areas. The building's elevated design facilitates a promenade that links the various city hall spaces, and a cultural park that features the House of Culture, Library, and green areas. The Plaza Cívica serves as a vibrant gathering spot for public and cultural events, and provides event support for the nearby Auditorium.

Design a building that seamlessly integrates both the elements situated in front of and behind its facade by elevating the structure

Overall View

C REATE THE FORUM, A STAGE FOR THE CITY

In ancient Roman cities, the Forum was the space where commercial, financial, religious, administrative, and economic activities took place, as well as being the place where Roman citizens commonly conducted their social life. Given the diversity of functions that the project must respond to and the representativeness of its urban role, the Municipality of San Cristóbal will be the Forum of the locality

C ONTEXTUAL RELATIONSHIPS

We recognize the importance of correct implementation as a foundational gesture. The Municipality achieves two solutions by locating a single laminar volume:

Creates an urban space with identity for the Institution by connecting with the Police building.

Forms a strong institutional response to the New Park, allowing the Municipality to become the transition threshold between vegetation and the Civic Plaza with a free floor plan.

A PROMENADE FOR ACCESS

Leveraging the site's level difference, a platform circulation is proposed on the second level that connects the entire project. Two elevated walkways located on the north and south ends of the complex receive the public at the front façade and invite them to walk to the rear boundary, where they will find access to the Municipality and JAL's public services along the way.

CONSOLIDATION OF THE COMPLEX

The urban complex recognizes the character of the created civic space and complements it, creating a counterpoint (hard/soft area, civic/cultural, open/intimate). We propose a Cultural Park that contains the House of Culture, the Library, and the green areas of the complex.

THE HOUSE OF ALL

The City Hall building project was designed with a comprehensive approach that considered four basic points.

The first point was to respond to the physical context of the building, valuing both sides of the building - the access level directed towards the Civic Plaza and the interior gathering spaces throughout the building directed towards the New Linear Park.

The second point was to respond to the typology of the building, which recognizes the elongated proportion of the volume, by employing elongated and elevated common spaces that allow for a clear unification of each of the spatial components of the building.

The Third was to considered the fixed and flexible components of the building program to conserve its interior identity and allow for future reorganization. Lastly, the design considered the building's structural conditions, ensuring a safe and coordinated response to the needs of its users by employing four large cores that contain the vertical circulations.

Ecotone of Cali’s River

Private architecture Competition

Organized by Alianza para la renovación urbana de Cali

2021

// 3rd Place

Role as independent Head Architect & Creative Director

in Collaboration with Diana Wiesner Arquitectura y Paisaje EU and Scinco Arquitectos y Arquitectas

TASK CHALLENGE

Redesign the public space of “El Hoyo y el Piloto”

ABOUT SOLUTION

Cali, Colombia has 7 rivers, one runs through the city center passing near neighborhoods called El Hoyo and El Piloto.

This project developed public space in these neighborhoods to rehabilitate and reconnect its citizens with their main river through permeable and contemplatory spaces with the use of urban acupuncture.

The Cali river passes next to the neighborhoods but they lack activities that invite the city to enjoy the rivers surroundings. They are also located in the corner of the biggest and most important web of public architectural interventions

Design a space that seamlessly blends together the urban and natural enviroments in addition to the preexisting architectural interventions in that part of the city

ECHO OF THE RIVER

As an echo the river's influence extends beyond its banks, resonating throughout the surrounding areas. Additionally, the name is also a nod to the ecological concept of an ecotone, which is a transition zone between two different ecosystems. The project aims to create a space that seamlessly blends together the urban and natural environments.

The river is not only a central feature of the project, but it's also a symbol of how the project aims to connect different areas, communities, and ecosystems.

ECHOS & PUDDLES

The project prioritizes the needs and voices of everyone in the area. It offers spaces for people to see birds, nature, and the city, while also providing safe areas for kids to play and explore. These play areas also serve as rainwater collectors, promoting sustainability and environmental consciousness.

Native vegetation is used throughout the project, creating habitats for local wildlife and preserving the natural surroundings.

Finally, the project features a conscious public lighting system, designed to create a warm and attractive environment that respects the natural surroundings while keeping the area well-lit and safe for everyone.

Anamorphic Architecture

University Project

Organized by Marco Hemmerling M.A. Design to Fabrication Course

// Award winning University Work

Role as Student Architect in

Politecnico Di Milano in Collaboration with Nadezhda Vozzhaeva and Elizaveta Ermakova

TASK

To design a 1:1 model of an Anamorphic Space using Rhino 3D

CHALLENGE

ABOUT SOLUTION

In a university project, my team and I created an anamorphic space using Rhino 3D. However, with 30 groups involved, we realized the final projects would be scattered across a large campus. To solve this, we created a QR code that brought viewers to a web page we designed, cataloging and organizing all the projects by building. Our solution was practical and made the viewing experience more enjoyable and accessible for everyone involved.

The project resulted in an impressive variety of anamorphic spaces created by the students. However, due to the scale of the university where the project was assigned, many of these spaces were unfortunately not going to be able to be appreciated

PROBLEMS FROM SOLUTIONS

The design project presented a challenge that the course had not anticipated: how to showcase the variety of anamorphic spaces created by the students in a large university campus. We saw an opportunity to solve this issue while working on our university project.

Our solution involved strategically placing QR codes in four high-traffic areas of the campus. Scanning the code would redirect users to a web page that we designed specifically for this purpose. On the page, each project was displayed on a map, and users could access all relevant information, including a 3D model of each space.

This solution not only addressed the issue of visibility for the anamorphic spaces but also allowed for a more interactive and engaging experience for anyone interested in the projects.

COMMUNICATING ARCHITECTURE

I have always found that my professional experiences working with architecture firms have taught me far more than what I learned in university. This realization has inspired me to share my knowledge and expertise with others, which is why I have decided to teach at a college level. Through my teaching, I aim to provide aspiring architects with tips and tricks to become more skillful in their craft.

In addition to teaching, I have also created a niche for myself on Instagram where I showcase my work and explain architectural concepts in a friendly and approachable way. By doing this, I aim to create a better relationship with my audience and wish to inspire others to pursue their own architectural aspirations.
