SphereLockTM Limb Cup System
The SlimLimbs on a Mathews bow ride on these spindle-shaped Limb Turrets, which spread the load and cradle the limbs.
SphereLock is Mathews’ clever positive locking limb cup system. It’s trim, lightweight and it pivots to assure constant and positive downward limb pressure and alignment.

SE 4 Composite Limb SystemTM
Once again, less is more. Mathews revolutionary SE 4 Composite SlimLimbs represent yet another industry first. Thanks to our proprietary SE 4 Composite material the limbs on the latest Mathews are dramatically thinner, yet subsequently stronger. In fact, cycling tests prove SlimLimbs to be twice as strong. Thin is in!
Perimeter-weighted cam TM
Invented by Mathews, the perimeter-weighted cam features a weight (Inertia Disc) on its perimeter. Because of the energy required to set this weight in motion, momentum builds gradually resulting in a smooth release. The weight gains speed catapulting around the perimeter in opposition to the bow limbs counteracting their momentum thereby reducing recoil. The centrifugal momentum of the weight is ultimately transferred to the arrow resulting in added speed.
Harmonic Damping SystemTM
While they’ve become the visual identifier of a Mathews bow, the bow’s dual Harmonic Dampers are weights that float in an elastomer wheel and absorbs recoil vibration within the bow riser. So significant is the recoil vibration reduction that this Mathews technology has been licensed for use in other industries.
AeroRiser TM
To a bowhunter bow weight is an enemy. Early on, Mathews eliminated unwanted riser weight by cutting out unnecessary material without compromising the integrity of the bow. The result is a distinctive look and a lot less weight.
Idler wheel TM
Parallel Limb Design
Roller Guard TM In-Line Competition Grip The walnut grip on a Mathews bow has a distinctive layered line that indicates the centerline of the bow.
Traditional cable rods were subject to unwanted friction. The Roller Guard, another Mathews first, dramatically reduces system friction by guiding bow cables with a low friction wheel.
Zebra® ZS Twist® Premium Bowstring
In an effort to eliminate troublesome peep rotation, the Zebra ZS Twist bowstring utilizes two bundles of strands that are counter-twisted. This opposite twisting dramatically reduces the tendency of a bowstring to rotate and helps to keep your peep sight true.
Parallel limbs are yet another Mathews innovation. The more parallel a bows two limbs, the more they tend to cancel each others’ recoil and vibration resulting is a smoother shooting bow.
Single cam technology eliminated the second cam but it didn’t eliminate the need to connect the bowstring to the opposite limb. That is the function of the ball bearing Idler wheel.
String SuppressorsTM with Harmonic DampersTM
Before String Suppressors, your bowstring was left to whiplash back and forth between cam and idler wheel. String Suppressors deaden the vibration making for a much quieter and smoother release. Once again, a Mathews innovation which has lately been enhanced with the addition of Harmonic Dampers to the suppressor supports.

If it saves just one young person, isn’t it worth it? Violence in schools. Youth obesity. Teen pregnancy. Drugs. Alcohol. A dropout rate in excess of 10%. These are just a few of the problems facing our young people today.
What can be done to reverse these problems? It’s a tall task, but educators, parents and students alike point to The National Archery in the Schools Progam (NASP) as a significant step in the right direction. NASP has proven to teach students responsibility, discipline and respect. It has proven to reach students who could not be reached otherwise. It has proven to influence school attendance. And, it has proven to redirect the lives of numerous young people who were headed in the wrong direction. The National Archery in the Schools Program is the most successful youth archery program ever. By the end of 2008, it will be found in all 50 states. By the end of the 2006/2007 school year, over 2.3 million youngsters, grades 4 – 12, had received archery instruction as part of their physical education class. Mathews is the #1 supporter of NASP. Not just because it is important for archery but because of what it is doing for kids.
