non ______

______ locality

Concept Non locality is the erasure of location and distance. With this installation your presence is captured and transported beyond your physical reach. It presents a low fidelity, low resolution form of presence. Once the object moves it indicates that someone is currently watching elsewhere. The object moves according to the spectators position relative to the installation. Which makes your presence feel more “alive” as it will follow the object when you move past it.

This is done with syncronized objects activated through proximity.

The objects communicate wirelessly via. Internet

Each object has two micro controllers. One to send and receive data and one to drive the motors.

Pulley system to minimize the friction for the servo motor.

Each side from the inner - acrylic frame has bearings that guide the thread. Bottom and top has bearings on both sides to balance it out. Bottom arms uses right bearing. Top arm uses the left bearing.

workflow 1. Cut all the layers and weld the acrylic spacers on, three for each layer.

2. Cut the brass tube and glue in the center of the acrylic layer.

3. Drill open the bras sure it can slide on th inside the tank.

ss tube again. To make he brass frame placed

4. Sort the layers into groups. Each arm has 20 layers. The number is cut into layer to differentiate them.

5. Thread the layers with elastic thread. Repeat 16x.

ESP8266 connected with AMG8833 thermal camera. This is used both to register your presence and also to act as a server to send and recieve data.

Another ESP8266 to drive the servo motors. This is connected to a PCA9685 servo motor driver and receives data from the ESP8266 connected to the thermal camera.

The ESP8266 connected to the thermal camera will send and recieve data from the other object with an identical set up. This way your presence is not limited to your current location.
