This photo is well composed with the sun in the background creating the silhouette and the subjects well placed in between the sun. The use of the sunset and the burnt clouds adds a warm feeling to the photo creating a peaceful aesthetic image. This image relates to my photos as I try to capture a powerful sky in my images as it can really change the mood in the pictures

The subject in this photo is well lit by an external flash helping create the shadow. The image is well timed and captures the motion nicely, if i were to take the same photo I would change the angle of which the photo is taken getting closer into the subject to get an even bigger contrast in the subject and the shadow.

FILM SLR AND DIGITAL SLR Film cameras, with the right technique can have a better dynamic range and an improved level of aesthetic quality some digital SLRs cannot produce with out putting the image through post processing. Film SLR cameras are cheaper to buy and don’t require electricity which means there is little risk of camera running out battery during a shoot, although being a film camera, film is needed to be purchased and there is also costs to develop the image, and also further work to digitalize the image, and there is a long period of time to wait to until you can actually view the image taken. They are not produced in mass amounts anymore and they are becoming less popular as it can delay work flow so film SLRs Have become harder to get a hold of. DSLR cameras enable the photographer to view an image immediately after it has been taken making sure a photographer can check as he goes along stopping someone going through a shoot and over exposing all of the images. They are also immediately available for digital post processing increasing workflow and efficiency . a negative to DSLRs to some is the cost, a entry level DSLR can set someone back £600body only, then £300 minimum for a good standard lens. There are also more settings to learn as more modern technology is bundled into the camera

EVALUATION From looking at my initial images i am pleased with the results, in my opinion i feel like i have made an aesthetically pleasing, vibrant set of images, and the images really show off the chosen theme of ‘Light and Dark’, i feel that some of the photos should give a good impressions to the view leaving them to look deeper into the picture. The initial images i first took all seemed to feel ‘dark’ and the photos were starting to look like a collection of gothic images, but i needed to think of how to add light into the dark images to get contrast between the two. The main thing i liked about my initial images is that they would not need a lot, if any post processing to them for example the wire wool art is painted with light and across the image and the rest of the image is created by the long exposure, so all the work in the image takes place in the 30 seconds the shutter is rolling. I feel some of the pictures started out a bit dull, i added clarity contrast and added tint to the image to make the image more interesting and to stick out from others. I found it hard to select images to put into the sub categories as wanted to explore more with the theme ‘Light and Dark’ so i came up with any excuse to make sure my selected images fit into the sub categories. At the start of my ‘photo taking’ I thought I didn’t push myself to the fullest to where I could go with my creative boundaries, I felt ideas were struggling to come out, and was lacking any artistic motivation. After looking deeper into the theme i had some more ideas and tried combing bits of work together in the same image for example trying to get a nice landscape on the image while capturing the wire wool art, after the first ideas i was able to develop my techniques and was able to experiment deeper with the theme. I think that after experimenting with many techniques and subjects i tried a wide range of photos that fit into the theme. I tried to create an atmosphere in each photo so the viewer can create a full understanding of the image. I have added in a mixture of both eerie and expressionistic photos, by doing this i hope to create a strong contrast in the work and not have a set mood to the images in my final blurb book, i feel this will also help the viewer have different ideas of themes and to also have more variety in the work instead of having one set theme to the whole piece Friday, 7 June 13
Evaluation
Im am pleased with the images i have produced, i feel that they have met the themes I have chosen and i feel that from experimenting with my work i was able to get much better results and i ended up bring out all of the creativity possible in my images. I feel that there was minimal editing needed on a lot of the images the only pictures that had a fair bit of Photoshop in is where i imbedded colour into the image to create an more interesting view of light.
