My university final year thesis was to design a space with community integrated programs and local artisan skill training facilities. I designed a sculpture studio and gallery to be built as a continuation of the LIVE Palazzo regeneration strategy (following). The full wrap around frame is manufactured using Grilamid TR90 ANZZ materials from Switzerland offering a virtually unbreakable frame. Free Lance My free-lance work varied from graphic design commissions, video making and photography. It involved every stage, from design to post-production, of a brief to be completed and execute it. Terlizzi Logo Design
Terlizzi is a artisanal home-made Pasta producer in London. Their products, though ranging from pasta to cakes, are primarily from Puglia, a region in the South of Italy. The brief was to trace back to the traditions of Terlizzi, a town in Puglia, and define a typeface that would both inspire the Orecchiette pasta and life, keeping in mind the local culture. 1 - Final Logo Design 2 - First Logo draft 3 - Logo Sketch

Marca Trevigiana
Coste Petrai, sister company of Colli Soligo, reknowned Prosecco producers from Valdobbiadene and Conegliano, asked me to redesign their labels to attract a young and vibrant audience in their new international market. The commission was for 5 families of wines so I created a custom illustration for each representing the ground level lines of where the grapes are from. Here presented are the main bottles of each family.

PROPOSTA 2 Partendo da una mappa topografica storica dei Colli Euganei, abbiamo evidenziato le singole cime ricreando una grafica semplice, contemporanea e di impatto. Ogni vino prenderà il nome di uno dei Colli, che sarà ulteriormente messo in risalto da un diverso colore. Questa seconda proposta si incentra maggiormente sul territorio Euganeo, in quanto caratteristica importante e fondamentale di questo vino. Rimangono comunque presenti logo e carattere tipografico di riferimento a Venezia.
Ca’ Dei Dogi is a wine company from Padua’s Colli Euganei. They approach me to create the brand and labels for the company. UNIT+ Collective was formed in 2012 with five core members. Our first project composed of surveying and assessing the area of Riserva Privata San Settimio for the new birth of the 1974 project: Operazione Arcevia. For the founders of the project the “Existential Community” wasn’t a therapeudic community

But a model for a method of living differently, closer to the effective human necessities of the modern world. Key to success was the necessity from the residents of adapting to the proposed style of living, with at its core the relationship between resident-artisttourist-farmer.
OPERAZIONE ARCEVIA 1972-76 In 1972 Italo Bartoletti with the help of architect Ico Parisi created Operazione Arcevia. Based on his previous studies, Parisi introduced the idea of existential community and of “Aesthetic Operators”: sculptors, painters, musicians and contemporary artists, bringing them together for the development of his vision of the new architectural landscape. Operazione Arcevia strove to intervene, in an non elitist way, proposing a reconsideration of the social, economical and cultural reality of the time creating a territorial infrastructure.

The gift: analysing the census data and the economies through our first study of Palazzo D’Arcevia, one question kept rising: how will shrinking cities be in the near future? How do we solve the problems of shrinking cities? In April 2013 we’ll present, in collaboration with Riserva Privata San Settimio, an installation produced through the study that imagines a possible future for shrinking cities. We want to offer an hypothetic solution tothe problem. The temporary installation doesn’t want to be a finished product but a medium for which we imagine the future together with the community. The interactive structure will represent an idea and gather ideas and thoughts and questions to bring the project to a more detailed phase of analisys for the subsequential steps. Our final goal is to experiment a collaboration with designer/artists and the inhabitants.

English Pavillion at the 2012 Venice Architecture Biennale: DArryl Chen investigates the properties of Ai Wei Wei’s project in the Chaogandi district of Beijing, renovated utilising illegal art galleries. The idea is to utilise art to regenerate a degraded area. The collaboration wants to start discussions in order to create strategies to save and re-live the center of Italy in its history and its future joining the arts with the daily life. With the event we want to organize to present the structure produced we want to give voice to the inhabitants and give back to the community what Palazzo has to offer giving it new found value.

The idea of revitilisign through design comes from our desire to unify two passions. The strategy so far figures two stages of intervention. Conversation Kit: the card deck of the italian game scopa, wants to be the first intervention of design in order to engage in the first conversations between us (UNIT+ and Riserva Privata San Settimio) and the inhabitants of Palazzo D’Arcevia. The design starts from the original playing cards but merges it with the local trades of Palazzo. The symbols have been also simplified, a principle - simplicity - which we want to continue throughout LIVE Palazzo, in order to make the strategy accessible to all. This first stage wants help us meet the community and begin a debate on how our future interventions can be received.

LIVE Palazzo was created in conjuction with UNIT+ Collective and myself as part of my final year thesis of my architecture degree. LIVE Palazzo is an identity driven regeneration strategy for Palazzo D’Arcevia, Marche, Italy. Playing Cards
UNIT+ Collective: LIVE Palazzo | Design and creation of card deck for LIVE Palazzo | 2013
As part of the LIVE Palazzo strategy, I created an awareness campaign for the project centering around a pack of playing cards. It was designed based on a series of studies on the local economies and traditional trades. The card game is a traditional Italian game played by four people it targets elderly over the age of 60. LIVE Palazzo regeneration strategy composed also of a series of installations built in Palazzo D’Arcevia in April 2013. Operazione Arcevia is the project behind LIVE Palazzo and the actions by UNIT+ Collective in Riserva Privata San Settimio. In 2014 we decided to make it into an arts and culture foundation. Branded the company along side a small initial stationery pieces. Because it was not an original idea we took over, I created a brand made to adapt, so for pieces of the brand I revolved around ink stamps on various surfaces and designs. 1 - Logo 2 - Business card stamps 3 - Member’s card - Front 4 - Member’s card - Back 5 - Letterhead

As part of Operazione Arcevia branding I created a custom humanist typeface for the website and various public/private uses. Avec Sans takes from Tahoma typeface for inspiration, it tries to smoothen lines and curves within each of the letters in order to increase legibility and comfort to the reader. Operazione Arcevia logo is created from a variation of the Avec Sans typeface.

The poster design for Operazione Arcevia followed the changes of the re-branding and the project continued, relaunched. The Camera Obscura is a architectural structure developed as a continuation of Operazione Arcevia’s action on the territory. The intent of the structure is to reproduce and connect with the surroundings through the naturally projected images, inside. Pointing at the sky, the structure is to be copied and repeated, as symbol of connection, with an similar Art Park in Russia, called Nikola Lenivets Park.

L’albero di Momo is an english school for kids. They approached me as I had worked there during summers as a teacher. Mantaining the same logo, I created a series of business cards and letterheads along side the branded “Authorised Center” posters for the different schools. The work for L’albero di Momo revolved around childish yet adult-ready, more official, designs. Il senso di questo magazine non è quello di creare una nuova, ennesima, miscellanea di articoli legati insieme da un vago filo comune o idea editoriale ma il tentativo di creare uno spazio condiviso che sondi i limiti di cosa possa essere la comunicazione di contenuti scritti e di immagini in questo mediaevo postmoderno che ci vede funambolicamente sospesi fra il flusso costante di informazioni e di dati e la mancanza di una selezione degli stessi. L’estetica contemporanea ci sembra infatti essere un’esaltazione dello scarto. Nella cultura di Internet non esiste più il montaggio poiché tutto è video, tutto è notizia. Le homepage dei quotidiani principali sono saturate da video e foto che raccolgono fuori onda televisivi e liti improvvisate. La sfera pubblica e privata delle celebrità si mescolano senza soluzione di continuità tramite i social network. Non è un caso se le regine della narrazione contemporanea siano le diluitissime serie tv. Proprio per questo anche B-Ville è innanzitutto un’idea narrativa, un luogo dell’immaginazione concepito come una sorta di Città Ideale al contrario, uno spazio in cui refluiscono tutti i dati e le immagini della cultura -alta e bassa, nell’avant-pop non c’è differenza. Un atlante della mitologia contemporanea che remixa tutti questi input e li risputa sotto forma di racconto. A voi lettori l’invito a diventare anche solo per poco tempo i residenti di questa città, a muovervi fra i luoghi in cui gli autoctoni di B-Ville -il macellaio, il barista, il viaggiatore,...- raccontano le loro storie. Saranno otto edizioni, otto numeri che svilupperanno da un lato la narrazione della città -la sua storia, la sua economia, la sua cultura- dall’altro riprenderanno spunti e discussioni del Mondo Esterno, Vecchio Mondo, della vostra attualità. Perché iniziamo a farlo solo ora? Perché fino ad ora B-Ville non è stata la meta di nessun turista? Perché purtroppo fino a poco tempo fa le nostre comunicazioni verso l’Esterno -i nostri outputerano drammaticamente interrotte. Ricevevamo soltanto, gli scarti -sia nel senso estetico che abbiamo identificato prima, sia nel senso di spazzatura, materiale già consumato- della cultura mediatica degli Altri. Adesso finalmente possiamo invitarvi a scoprire la nostra interessantissima città. La sua cultura, innanzittutto. Durante gli anni di isolamento, in cui potevamo essere solo gli spettatori passivi del pop, abbiamo sviluppato -per forze di causa maggiore- una forte politica di resistenza basata sul valore del singolo. Alla massificazione abbiamo potuto rispondere soltanto con un’individualizzazione usata come violento antidoto. La nostra rivoluzione alla mancanza di personalità non potrà che essere quindi una Self-Revolution. Non vogliamo però che sia una Selfie-Revolution, basata più sul solipsismo che sul singolo. E per questo siamo contenti di essere contenti di essere riusciti a riaprire (dettagli in seguito) i nostri canali di comunicazione verso il Mondo Esterno e di potervi invitare a visitare la nostra città, usufruendo anche dei pacchetti-offerta che l’assessorato che mi onoro di rappresentare metterà a disposizione mediante il codice promozionale #staytunedfortherevolution . WE WRITE A LANGUAGE OF THE FUTURE FOR THE POST-MODERN MIDDLE AGES THAT AWAIT US The purpose of this magazine is not to create a new, or another, mix of items bound together by a common thread or vague idea of publishing, but it is an attempt to create a shared space that tests the limits of what can be the communication of written content and of images in this post-modern middle age that sees us furiously suspended between the constant flow of information and data and the lack of a selection of the same. Contemporary aesthetics seems to us to be an exaltation of the gap. In the culture of the Internet, editing does not exist anymore, everything is news. The homepage of the main newspapers are saturated with videos and photos that collect off-air television and improvised arguments. The public and private life of celebrities mingle seamlessly through social networks. It is not a coincidence that the queens of contemporary narrative are the over stretched TV series.
This is B-ville
Precisely for this reason B-Ville is an idea of fiction, a place of imagination conceived as a kind of opposite to an ideal city, a space in which all data and images convey as in the culture of avant pop, there is no difference. An atlas of contemporary mythology that remixes all these inputs and spits them in the form of narrative. To you readers the invitation to become even just for a short time with the residents of this city, to move between sites whilst the natives of B-Ville - the butcher, the bartender, the traveler, ... - tell their stories . There will be eight editions, eight numbers that will develop, on the one hand, the narrative of the city - its history, its economy, its culture - on the other, the ideas and the discussions resumed from the Outside World, Old World, on your current events. Why start now? Why, until now, B-Ville was not the destination of tourists? Because, unfortunately, until recently, our communications to Outside - our output - was dramatically disrupted. We only received the trash - both in the sense of aesthetics that we have identified before, and in the sense of junk, of a material already chewed media culture of the Other.

From creating an extravaganza of articles and editorials, the concept evolved into creating an online experienec revolving around the creation of B-ville Village online.
