1_TOURIST YEAR : BAC 1 - 2014
In the village of Rebecq, the intention was to design a tourist information point with view on the Senne. The site was a magnificent but narrow place with a marvellous view on an ancient water mill. The project intended to create a small building hosting an info desk as well as an exhibition room on the first floor. The intervention needed to remodel the slope of the terrain to create a pontoon where a departure of kayak trips was going to be organised. Two volumes created the enclosed building. Multiple stairs and a pontoon are shaping the oustide area. The project was mainly a play in the section as well as a connection to the landscape.

2_ARCHITECTONIC YEAR : BAC 2 - 2015
The objective of this project was to create an extension on the top of an existing building (situated in Brussels). This was realised by the use of 2 articulated volumes, one for circulation purpose, the other as a living space on two levels. The disposal was dictated by the volumes of the existing facade (see black volumetric model pictures). An intimate terrace is created by pushing back the main volume. The smaller box is, on the contrary, coming in front of the actual facade giving a view. Making models (conceptual and realistic) was the main work process utilised here. As a final representation, a 1/20 model was used to help understand the project as a whole.

3_ HOUSE
IN BAMBOIS
YEAR : BAC 2 - 2015
This project is located in an low-income area in Belgium, the camping area of Bambois (Namur). There, several precarious families lived in caravans or homemade sheds to survive being homeless. We were asked to create low budget (but not low quality) simple architecture on the same site they inhabit. The city was ready to regularise the situation but asked for housing ideas fitting that socioeconomic context. The proposal is a simple L-shape building with small but sufficient space. The site is enclosed in a huge hedge which i decided to keep. A shared outdoor area with the neighbouring terrain and a private outdoor area are also created by the implantation. A garden shed is integrated in the building.

4_ INTER-GENERATIONAL HOUSING YEAR : BAC 2 - 2015
This project was designed during the second year of bachelor. The program consisted of imagining a co-housing for a couple of ederly peoples and a family of a single lady with her young child. Situated in the city center of Brainel’Alleud in front of the church, where the market is organised weekly, the site was narrow and difficult. Lots of neighbouring’s extensions made the site poorly lit and complex. The challenge was not only to question the idea of a co-housing but also to confront it to the difficult site. The final proposal was to create a common ground floor and 2 private upper spaces, one for each household. The use of mezzanines helped to capture the light but created also inner and outer views (one into the patio and one overlooking the church).

5_ GRIMBERGEN’S YEAR : BAC 3 - 2016
During the course of Architecture Heritage, the assignement was to create, repair or reveal a part of the building or the site of Grimbergen’s Castle. The idea was to reveal an ancient track of the historical parc of the castle. After a meticulous analyse of all pathways and axis of the parc, it was evident that one of the major axis missed a little part. The project was first to research, analyse, position and then imagine a way to reveal it’s ancient presence. This part of the axis, was hidden into a bushy forest where an unformal passageway was still near the ancient pathway. The project consisted of planting a succession of pillars that made sensible the perspective of the ancient axis while parcouring the wild trail. Subtility and fineness were the purpose of this approach.

6_ COLLECTIVE YEAR : BAC 3 - 2017
During the third year of bachelor, the focus was put on collective housing. Located in a theoritical city, the project’s site dimension is 60m x 60m. The proposal aimed to freed the ground and build densily in height. The typology used here is neither a bar nor a tower. The use of a garden - now liberated from the building - is activated thanks to little rooms (each appartement has a room of their appartment on the ground). Those spaces can be used as a shed, a playroom, an office, a storage area etc. The plans of the appartments are designed to create more privacy in initmate areas and to use every centimeter (not a corridor is displayed). On several landings, collective laundries are placed to bond evenmore the building’s inhabitants.

7_ CIRCULAR YEAR : MA 1 - 2018
As a first Master project, in a studio lead by L. Bekemans from BC Architect, the task was to repurpose an old 1960’s warehouse along the Brussels Canal area. The assignement was to imagine a new circular economy function for the building while thinking a circular way to renovate the building. The proposal intended to leave the industrial, nearly heritage warehouse, the most intact as possible. As a pragmatic response, few modifications were established. At first, the creation of a core circulation, lighting administrative offices, while restructuring the building circulation. Secondly, changing dark warehouse spaces to an urban productive and educational farm while adding a greenhouse structure on the solid roof. The full process of growing chicory, creating compost from city waste, and producing building materials were envisioned. A link to the Abattoire Market by water transport and cargobikes was imagined. As a design process, videos, models, collages and detailed line drawings were produced creating a broad proposal. (For more information scan the QR code)

2030
YEAR : MA 1 - 2018
One of the most interesting and onfield studio was Campus 2030. In the context of Schaerbeek City Renewal Contract lead by Renovas and founder of Alive Architecture, Petra Pferdmenges (Parckfarm). The idea of the project, imagined as a team work of 9 people, was to integrate the 4 universities of the Rue des Palais in this complex and multicultural context of Schaerbeek -North district. The proposal was to start integrating the already existing universities’ ‘Campus’ by creating link between student and local inhabitants. Several tracks were taken, creation of a common maps of places with potentials, a video presenting inhabitants and students, but also an analysis of the RythmAnalysis of the area. Once the project put in place, the idea was to create a mobile exhibition to confront our project and start linking students and inhabitants. A final exhibition was organised to show our output about that consultation.

9_ BRISBANE YEAR : MA 2 - 2019
I was lucky to travel to Brisbane and the University of Queensland (Australia) for an Erasmus. During my stay I had the privilege to get selected in the Vokes and Peters studio. This collective housing oriented workshop aimed to tackle a narrow and difficult site near the City Covention Center. A volume proposal mixing high and low building intended to reconnect this blank inactivated wall with the street. More public functions were established on the corners of the project articulating the residential project with the urban settings. Simple design and working with models was privileged to propose a coherant urban project weaving itself into the existing city context. A simple graphic style was used to properly communicate the project. Small scale models helps to understand nodal features of the design proposal.

10_ LEISURE YEAR : MA 2 - 2020-21
As a Masterthesis, the subject of Leisure Water Uses as Urban Commons was developed. Promoted by B. Pak, the aim was to understand how water elements could play a role iin urban Brussels. Aldo Van Eyck and his study of the educative role of architecture fed the research. A broader analysis of Brussels waterscape and a water uses case study helped wrapping the theoretical framework. After a complete urban analysis through the production of maps, the Pacheco Administrative Center was selected. A global rethinking of the water collection system was envisioned while converting an under-used parking space into a new Free-Space. The design questioned the role of commons in urban settings and proposed a pavillion and water installation which had multiple roles. At first, to activate the hardscape of a square while allowing more approporiative common spaces. Secondly to refresh and allow play with the help water features. Finally, to connect different levels of the project to several street levels while allowing new spaces to shape around it. (For more information, please scan the QR code)
