Festival Femme: Celebrating women’s empowerment
The Sunshine Coast is set to host a groundbreaking event this year, Festival Femme, spearheaded by two extraordinary women: Bella Strong and Jordyn James. It will celebrate women from all walks of life through a dynamic blend of convention, exhibition, festival, live music, and dance performances. It's more than just an event; it's a movement.
Bella Strong, Co-founder and Managing Director of B.Strong and Fearless, has been a driving force in women's empowerment. Born and bred on the Sunshine Coast, Bella has a clear vision for Festival Femme. “This year, we’ve joined forces with Sunshine Coast’s Burlesque L’Amour to create a fully original, fully unique event,” she shares. With over 100 Sunshine Coast businesses involved, including exhibitors, partners, sponsors, media professionals, speakers, and workshops, the festival promises a rich and diverse experience for all attendees.
Bella’s journey to this point has been anything but conventional. Initially set on a music career, Bella’s path took a turn as she discovered a new passion for creating spaces where women could thrive. “I was always a performing arts girlie,” she recalls, “but as I graduated and explored different avenues, I realised I wanted to do something that could make a bigger impact.” This realisation led to the creation of B Strong and Fearless, and now, the grander vision of Festival Femme.
Jordyn James, owner and Artistic Director of Burlesque L’Amour, has empowered women through dance for over a decade. From the beginning in her parent's garage, Jordyn has grown her business to include over 350 women attending weekly classes. "Seeing the transformation in these women is the most rewarding part of my job," she says. "They start in baggy jumpers and tracksuit pants, and within weeks, they’re strutting their stuff in crop tops and heels."

For Jordyn, empowerment means celebrating each person as their true, authentic self. “This event is for anybody who wants to feel truly empowered and inspired,” she explains. “When everyone can be true to themselves and celebrate each other authentically, that’s empowering.”
Honey-Ed is Festival Femme’s Diamond Partner. Managing Director Chloe Mascord, an intimacy coach and speaker, says, “At this event, I’ll invite you to explore your desires, break down taboos, and embrace your true sensual self.” She brings a unique perspective to Festival Femme and hopes to help women unlock relationship challenges, achieve satisfying intimacy, and renew their sense of self-love.
“We deserve to experience joy in and out of the bedroom,” Chloe asserts. Festival Femme will feature her workshops and talks to help women deepen their connections and embrace their sensuality.
Festival Femme is not just for one type of woman; it's for every woman and their family. Bella and Jordyn have made it their mission to create an inclusive space where all women can feel safe, celebrated, and empowered. Whether you’re a businesswoman, a stay-at-home mum, or someone finding your way, there’s a place for you at this event.
Festival Femme promises to be a transformative experience, celebrating womanhood in all its forms. With a rich array of speakers, workshops, and performances, it’s set to be an unforgettable event that uplifts and empowers. So, mark your calendars for Festival Femme, where empowerment takes centre stage.
