SUSTAIN DAILY POSITIVITY USING BALANCE WITH COLOUR

BY LORRAINE & DR BOB ROBERTS PhD
The Essence Of Balance With Colour

Balance With Colour (BWC) is a unique and simple day-to-day practice that is easy to adopt and will quickly become a valuable habit. It is suitable for both the young and old, and can be used privately, shared with family, within groups, in schools, and in workplaces.

BWC helps balance our thinking with positive purposes for each day, drawing from messages nature has been sending since time began. By focusing on the positive words that come to mind, inspired by how colour is used in nature, and applying those positive intentions each day, we can maintain balance in our thinking and avoid focusing solely on negative thoughts that may overwhelm us. Colour is there for a reason, and we can learn so much from nature.

Learning from nature's use of colour

Imagine a garden full of flowers in different shapes, sizes, and colours. How would you feel about each one? Would you think about how amazing, pretty, beautiful, and delicate they are? Would you note their sweet smell or soft texture, and how you feel happy, calm, and fortunate to have the opportunity to experience them? Capturing those words and thoughts and building a vocabulary of positive words to create a repertoire of positive, purposeful actions to apply to yourself each day will improve your personal self-worth and confidence. This benefits everyone and makes you more empathetic and caring towards our natural environment. For instance, consider the blue of the sea and how fresh it feels. Ask yourself, ‘What can I do today that is fresh or new?’ Then apply that purpose for the entire day. At the end of the day, reflect and record what you have discovered or improved in yourself.

We are born with certain characteristics, talents, and beliefs that are passed on through our DNA, and our primary aim as an infant is survival. Gradually, verbal communication becomes important, and we start to learn words. There are different words and tones we can use to survive in our world. To thrive and feel contented, the words and tones we hear and use develop our character, and increase our talents and beliefs.

As natural beings, we depend on colour to survive in the same way everything on planet Earth does. Colour is there to give us warnings, and we need to appreciate and care for what nature freely gives us. When we respect nature, it means we also care for ourselves and others, creating a win-win situation for all.

To appreciate the benefits of BWC and maintain your sustainability, practise the BWC concept daily. It helps keep us positive and prevents us from sliding into depression. When we are calm and in control, there is less tension in our homes, schools, and workplaces, and we live healthier, more productive lives. BWC learning and teaching aids are available on our website.
