A different type of law firm: GOOD LAW
Good Law QLD opened in the Aura community in July 2024, offering services in conveyancing and property law, planning and environment law, wills and estates. The firm’s principal, Sian McNamara, wanted to create a different type of law firm.
“Typically, law firms are very triangulated structures. I wanted to flatten that structure so that staff were remunerated for hard work, growth and development. I believe this would naturally create a safe space for staff and clients,” Sian states.
The approach is clearly working with the firm growing from three staff in July 2024 to seven now, with another member to join in November 2024, all without ever advertising a position. Marketing also hasn’t been prioritised, with clients being referred organically because of the client-centric focus the firm adopts.
“We recognise that every client’s situation is stressful and unique, no matter the circumstances. We treat our clients the way we would want to be treated. As a result, we have a rapidly growing referral base and, thus, a rapidly growing organisation,” Sian says.
