ounded in 1951, City Electrical Factors Ltd operates throughout the UK as the leading electrical wholesale network with almost twice as many distribution outlets as its nearest competitor. Highlighting the company’s growth and enduring high standards, CEF has expanded into the United States, the Middle East and, most recently, Australia. From humble beginnings and a single branch based in Coventry back in 1951, City Electrical Factors has grown at a sustained and impressive rate where it now has 400 outlets throughout the United Kingdom. The company’s growth is attributed to its commitment to provide customers with excellent service which still shapes the company’s development and determines its future growth and success – a future which promises even greater benefits to customers and security for its employees. Built upon customer service, CEF has continually strived to offer a tailored solution to the

needs of its clients. Adapting to current trends and progressing alongside a fast-moving marketplace has allowed the company to remain ahead of its competitors. In order to provide the best possible service it has developed a highly responsive and motivated organisation that can adapt readily to each individual customer’s needs and requirements. Indeed, CEF believes in offering each of its customers the same superior quality of service and products. Its IT systems have been developed in- house so that it can respond to any order whether large or small and track that order from receipt to delivery. Its team of professional delivery drivers then deliver the goods for free, when and where customers want them. Moreover, CEF is committed to being a partner with its customers’ development so that they can grow as part of the CEF family. The company believes in developing its relationship with customers and looks to improve communication whether face to face, on the phone, in writing or through the internet.

Elsewhere, technology has come a long way and at CEF the company is always looking to improve its service to the customer through the latest innovations available. The company prides itself in being a good listener and all of its staff are readily accessible to help customers in a friendly and meaningful way. Supporting the customer over the long term alongside enduring standards has enabled the company to expand overseas. In the early seventies the decision to expand on the international stage was taken. During the subsequent years, CEF has further developed the number of branch outlets that it has, giving expanded service to customers and providing employment to local people and communities. In a rapidly shrinking world due to the advent of affordable travel and new technologies, CEF has expanded to become a truly global company. But its ethos has not changed, striving to provide products and services of the highest quality to customers, earning their loyalty in return. Whether the company is local, national or international you can be assured that CEF will endeavour to provide a world class service and consistency, in ever changing and diverse market conditions.

SUPPLIERS AND DISTRIBUTORS: CEF Today CEF faces the future as a global group of companies that remains firmly rooted at local and national level. Traditional values coupled with forward thinking will remain high on the company’s priority list. Customers and staff are its most important assets and as a successful organisation CEF must ensure that employees are motivated to provide the service, support and product knowledge that customers expect not only today, but in the future. CEF currently has branch outlets throughout the world and with its ongoing plans and recent move in to Australasia, the company’s dedication to future expansion is assured. As an engineer, specifier or contractor, the choice and quality of products available to customers is very important. At City Electrical Factors, the company maintains a comprehensive stock of core products in each of its branches and has thousands more available to customers on next day delivery. The company prides itself on its relationships with suppliers and can normally get specified special products within one or two working days. CEF can also provide a range of specialised services in most of its core product areas. Using either its own technical engineers or independent unbiased sources it can offer help with Lighting, Heating, Ventilation and structured data cabling design for industrial or commercial use. The company is also committed to green initiatives. Its easyWEEE and Lampcare Divisions are the first national UK service to provide full WEEE recycling facilities with over 400 fully owned Designated Collection Facilities. Backed up by a national transport service throughout the UK and a revolutionary state of the art recycling plant, CEF can take care of your WEEE recycling needs.
CEF CURRENTLY HAS BRANCH OUTLETS THROUGHOUT THE WORLD AND WITH ITS ONGOING PLANS AND RECENT MOVE IN TO AUSTRALASIA, THE COMPANY’S DEDICATION TO FUTURE EXPANSION IS ASSURED. With a 20 tonnes per hour WEEE capacity, a patented unique and environmentally sound technology for processing up to 800 Computer Screens and Televisions per hour, easyWEEE is here to provide a seamless solution to WEEE requirements. All of the waste that comes to easyWEEE is fully recycled. The only items that CEF doesn’t process itself are fridges where the company uses a partner to recycle any that it collects. The rest of the waste CEF collects is fully recycled within its modern and revolutionary system, which means nothing is sent to landfill and with this knowledge customers can have total peace of mind. CEF also recycles all different categories of lamps under one roof at its two plants in the United Kingdom. It supplies one container to take all types of fluorescent tubes and gas discharge lamps and instead of customers having to segregate and count lamp waste separately, CEF does it for them. The company collects the containers and transports them back to its plants for the lamps to be fully recycled, including the recovering of sodium and mercury for re-use. www.cef.co.uk Tel: 0844 8793202
