Building Study Patricia Corbett Theater Design Lab - Spring 2015
The goal of this project was to show through diagramming and documentation, a basic understanding of a building and the process of creating one. Groups were assigned a building on campus and asked to diagram the primary spaces and recreate their plans and sections, culminating in the production of a ¼” scale model. Our group was assigned Patricia Corbett Theater, a part of the University’s College Conservatory of Music.

Patricia Corbett Theater Design Lab - Spring 2015
As an individual continuation of the Building Study, the Insertion was intended to give students a chance to design an additive structure that would affect the experience of their documented buildings. Iteration models and diagrams dominated the process, while the final deliverables consisted of renderings and a 1/4 scale model.

monolith Design Lab - Spring 2015
The goal of this project was to explore ways in which created forms interact with the body on a relatively small scale. The Monolith was not supposed to fit comfortably in one’s hand, but be engaging enough that the user would try to hold it in different positions. Made by rasping and sanding glued layers of wood into our compositions.

Object for the Body: The Folly Design Lab - Spring 2015
Using the same principals of interaction explored with the Monolith, the Follys were intended to be built from rounds of iterations inherited from other individuals, and through this process students would learn how to combine ideas while working in groups. With an emphasis on creating unique experiences in a limited space, materials and scale had to be heavily considered during design and construction. The final product was installed at full-scale in the University’s Engineering Quadrangle.

7 walls Design Lab - Fall 2015
Located in a 50’ tall by 50’ wide by 100’ deep lot of land in an urban environment, the 7 Walls project was to be a manipulation of spatial experience based on a narrative inspired by a historical facet of Cincinnati (in this case the abandoned Cincinnati subway system). Seven wall types were delineated and had to have an influence on the final construction. Perspective collages led to iteration models with sequence photos showing how occupants would experience the spaces formed by the walls. Eventually, a final perspective collage and model were produced.

Athenaeum Design Lab - Fall 2015
The Athenaeum project was intended to give students their first experience of designing a building with considerations given to site conditions, program sequence, code restrictions, and structural feasibility. Each student chose an existing empty lot in a Cincinnati neighborhood on which to design an Athenaeum. Process involved massing model iterations based off of site conditions, which eventually led to a final scaled section model and documentation drawings.

Selected Works - Co-Op Spring 2016 While on Co-Op in spring of 2016 I worked in retail design for Chute Gerdeman, a design consultant firm based out of Columbus, Ohio. During my experience I learned brand-specific standards and attained an understanding of how designers interact with and emulate a brand’s image. I primarily assisted in completion of specification documents using Revit, while also occasionally using Adobe Photoshop to work on renderings.
35
Retail Rendering Rendering completed using Revit and 3DMAX software. I added post-rendering effects with Adobe Photoshop.
