BAR MITZVAH. A JEWISH CELEBRATION OF A BOY BECOMING A MAN THROUGH THE CEREMONY BY LEADING IN PRAYERS AND READING FROM THE TORAH. THE TORAH IS THE SACRED SCROLLS OF THE WORD OF GOD. THEY ARE CONFINED IN THE ARON HA-KODESH AND READ FROM AT THE BIMAH. THE PROCESSION OF THE TORAH FORMS A SPIRITUAL MOVEMENT THROUGH THE SPACE. THIS PATH IS THE ROUTE ALSO TRAVELED BY THE BOY AS HE TAKES ON THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF ADULTHOOD.
