Virgil is one of the most influencial artists of the current day in my opinion, the take of typography is so simple yet so so effective. The font ‘’Helvetica’’ is used with all capital letters with quotation marks surrounding the word. This is Virgils signature way of showing a quote or a singular word. You don’t become Kanye’s creative director by sitting on your ass. Virgil studied the teachings of Mies van der Rohe and got a master’s in architecture before embarking

on his own endeavors in fashion, music and art. Now he’s the founding designer at streetwear megabrand OffWhite, co-owns Chicago concept shop RSVP Gallery, DJs worldwide under the moniker Flat White, and serves as curator-in-chief to Yeezy himself. He aspires to take the helm at a big name fashion label at some point down the road, but for the moment it sounds like he’s got his hands full. Speaking of which, dude fucking loves his iPhone.

E PAGE Virgil Abloh was born on September 30, 1980, in Rockford, Illinois, to Ghanaian immigrant parents. His mother was a seamstress and his father managed a paint company. Abloh was raised in Rockford, where he attended Boylan Catholic High School, graduating in 1998. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering. He received his Master of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of

Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2006. When Abloh was attending IIT there was a building on campus under construction designed by the architect Rem Koolhaas which helped spark his interests for fashion. While studying architecture, he designed t-shirts and wrote on fashion and design for a well known blog, The Brilliance. Abloh first met popular musician Kanye West while working on his designs at a Chicago print shop. Kanye is a famous Rap artist from the USA.
