LOS ANGELES RAMS STADIUM
REDESIGNING THE LOS ANGELES RAMS STADIUM GAVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO BEGIN WITH AN INCREDIBLY LARGE REGIONAL SCOPE AND USE THE INFORMATION GATHERED TO CREATE SMALL-SCALE SPACES WITH STRONG INTENT PREVIOUSLY I HAD RESEARCHED AND STUDIED SPACES THROUGH THE LENS OF THE STAKEHOLDERS NEEDS. THIS PROJECT GAVE ME THE CHANCE TO DIG INTO THE TOPICS AND DYNAMICS THAT INTERESTED ME MOST.

WHILE AT TBG PARTNERS I WAS INCLUEDED ON MANY WORKSHOPS. PREPARING ANALYSIS EXHIBITS AND WORKSHOP EXERCISES MADE ME THINK ABOUT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE IN WAYS I HADN’T PREVIOUSLY DONE. THIS PARTICULAR CHARETTE WAS MY FAVORITE. WE WERE SOLVING A SENSITIVE SOCIAL ISSUE IN A STIMULATING SETTING . THIS WAS ALSO A COLLABORATION BETWEEN OUR DALLAS AND AUSTIN OFFICES.

TETLEY BREWERY IN LEEDS, UK
COLLABORATION IS KEY. WHILE AT LEEDS BECKETT UNIVERSITY IN LEEDS, ENGLAND OUR DESIGN CLASS WAS PARTNERED WITH PUBLIC HEALTH STUDENTS AS WELL AS ARCHITECTURE STUDENTS. AS A TEAM WE WERE ASKED TO ASSESS THE OLD TETLEY BREWERY SITE. WORKING WITH CLASSMATES FROM OTHER DISCIPLINES BROUGHT NEW ENERGY AND PERSPECTIVE TO MY DESIGNS AND GAVE ME MORE APPRECIATION FOR WHAT LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTS GET TO CREATE.

UPHAM’S CORNER
HAVING A LASTING SOCIAL IMPACT IS MY MISSION FOR BOTH MY PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIVES. MY CAPSTONE PROJECT IS THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO BRING MY PASSION TO THE FOREGROUND WHILE TESTING WHAT I’VE LEARNED AT PURDUE UNIVERSITY. THE DUDLEY STREET NEIGHBORHOOD HAD BEEN OVERLOOKED FOR DECADES AND WITH THE FAIRMOUNT LINE AUGMENTING ITS STATION THERE WE HAVE A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO BUILD SOMETHING THAT WILL BRING JOY AND HOPE TO THE COMMUNITY.
SENIOR YEAR CAPSTONE PROJECT COLLABORATING WITH:
THE BOSTON PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT AGENCY DUDLEY STREET NEIGHBORHOOD INITIATIVE SUBMITTING TO:

USING THE ACSA STEEL COMPETITION TO INTIGRATE THE BPDA FAIRMOUNT LINE PLAN WITH THE VISION OF DSNI BOSTON PLANNING & DEVELOPMENT AGENCY (BPDA) HAS CREATED A CORRIDOR PLAN FOR THE NEW FAIRMOUNT INDIGO TRAIN LINE. THIS FAIRMOUNT INDIGO PLANNING INITIATIVE IS A PLAN TO AUGMENT THE 1/2 MILE RADII ABOUT EACH OF THE TRAIN STATIONS. I PLAN TO FOCUS ON THE IMPROVEMENTS OF THE UPHAM’S CORNER TRAIN STATION AND IT’S IMPACT ON DUDLEY STREET AND THE UPHAM’S CORNER NEIGHBORHOOD. THE ASSOCIATION OF COLLEGIATE SCHOOLS OF ARCHITECTURE (ACSA) 2016-2017 COMPETITION HAS AN “OPEN” CATEGORY. THE PROMPT:
CREATIVE USE OF STRUCTURAL STEEL IN THE
DESIGN SOLUTION, SUCCESSFUL RESPONSE OF THE DESIGN TO ITS SURROUNDING CONTEXT, AND SUCCESSFUL RESPONSE TO BASIC ARCHITECTURAL CONCEPTS SUCH AS HUMAN ACTIVITY NEEDS, STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY, AND COHERENCE OF ARCHITECTURAL VOCABULARY.
IT IS MY INTENT TO USE STEEL AS MY MEDIUM FOR AUGMENTING THE UPHAM’S CORNER STATION AREA. CREATING MEMORABLE SPACES THAT RESPOND TO THE NEEDS OF THE COMMUNITY THROUGHOUT THE AREA TO DEVELOP A “STEEL SPIDERWEB”
